Another brilliant track! I love the complexity you include in this track. Gentle intro, then from there it transitions into greatness. Great use of keys, which is one thing I absolutely love. I'm really digging your creative synth patterns, which goes with the electro-like drum patterns. At 1:40, that is a very creative way to transition back to the keys, then from there it takes off again. Then it ends with a gentle bang. Incredible work, my friend!

Thanks for the feedback :D

"Great use of keys"

Yeah, put alot of work into the melody for this one. Started off with some simple chords and evolved into a cool little melody.

"At 1:40, that is a very creative way to transition back to the keys"

Yeah, originally it just went straight to the keys after the chorus, but it didnt feel right so i added an extra bar or 2 for the pad transition.

Thanks for the listen :D

You've outdone yourself my friend! I really enjoy this! The intro is capturing, and from there it takes off! At 1:32, it get's going hardcore. The synths you use are very precise and were absolutely in your control. Especially in terms of volume. Nice and steady drum patterns. Amazing job, man. Take my fav!

Thanks my friend! Happy you enjoyed this little track. I agree with you, I really liked the synths I used in this track as well. They help bring the mood I was trying to create into perspective. Thanks for always stopping by, have a great day!

I'm really feeling the creativity here. This is rather a simple track, which is easy for all listeners. The loops are timed perfectly, and mostly everything goes together well. The orchestra section is a bit conflicting, but that's just personal opinion. I like how you have the track in a metaphor, comparing it to advances of mankind itself. I encourage you to continue to make your tracks in the most creative manner. Cheers, my friend!

You had a beautiful intro. Caught my attention with the great usage of keys with the synths coming in to accompany the keys. This is really awesome, despite not going for what you wanted the track to be like. Your creativity, however is amazing. It may lack that video game sound, but your results are amazing. I encourage you to keep working on this till you get your desired sound that you wanted. I'm actually really interested in remixing this if you'd be alright with that. What program did you use to make this?

Yo, this is rather tight and creative. I personally think that everything that's included in the track is useful, which would fit into the weird category. If anything, the parts which others may not like much, I'd perhaps lower the volume or something of the nature. I also like to rap feeling you've put into this. Best of luck, man.

This is incredible. Everything is so gentle and flowing. It's a bit low-volume, but that's nothing too major. I'm rather curious to what you used to make this. This is absolutely something that has potential to be in a film. I encourage you to master this in the most effective way. I believe that if you lengthen this, increase the volume, and maybe (and I mean MAYBE) add some cinematic drum patterns, this can possibly be used in some new coming movies this year. Beautiful work, my friend Take care! Cheers!

Hi GoldenOokami,

Thanks for your kind words and for the feedback! I would like to work on an extended version at some point in the near future!

I take it you are curious as to what instruments & libraries were used? I can name a few off the top of my head, but I'm afraid I don't recall every single library.

Initial Vocal Library: Shevannai
Male Vocal Library: Voice of Gaia: Bryn
Lead Strings: Concert Strings 3
Backing Strings: Project Sam Orchestral Essentials (Arco)
Piano: Spitfire Audio Felt Piano
Additional Strings: Spitfire Audio Mural Symphonic Strings
Percussion/Bass: Sample Logic Morphestra
Additional Vocals: Altus

DAW used was FL Studio.

I hope this was what you were looking for, thanks for checking out the track!

I am back, and attempting to listen to those parts I was unable to hear for a while, and oddly, I'm still unable to. But what is in fact audible still, I enjoy. Also, I must assume you are from the future, from your 12/01/15 update, given that as of today is 02/01/15. Kidding my friend. I'm thinking you have 12/01/15 as in the 12th day of the 1st month of the 2015th year. Simply given you a bit of a hassle.

Anyhow, back to the music. Since you extended the last part, which still even now I'm unable to hear, I'm assuming the track still sounds amazing, from what I've heard before, and now. I'm truly sorry that I'm missing out on such incredible track. Is there another place you posted this on? Such as soundcloud? Nevertheless, amazing job, once again StaticNomad! I wish you well, and the best! Take care, my friend.

Yo, Golden O.

Good to hear from you again and sorry for the slow reply. No idea why the track still doesn't play for you. So, just for you, I've uploaded it to my Soundcloud page:

https://soundcloud.com/endlessrotary/valvedriven

Post any further thoughts back here and I hope you enjoy the bits that were missing for you. I like to think they're worth hearing. But, hey, I'm a bit biased!

I only extended the last part by around 11 seconds after Valvedriver himself pointed out it could be quite a bit longer. 11 more secs/8 bars or whatever seemed to feel right and I also tidied up a few other areas.

I am indeed from the future, however that's not go anything to do with writing UK day/month/year dates. I think I've finally worked out the logic of why Americans write it month/day/year.

I've got a new upload with some heavyish stuff in it (Questions Screaming For Answers) though not as heavy as this one. I'm also working on a jazz metal track, which is probably going to be quite strange. Definitely quite a challenge. Someone's got to successfully merge those two genres and the psychedelic musical gods have chosen me for the task.

All the best to you.

This absolutely has potential. The drum patterns sounds distorted, but that's nothing hard to work around. The intro was capturing. Very good leads, and usage of bass and synths. Drum patterns are simple and easy to listen to. If you ever want this remixed, I'd be honored if you'd allowed me ever. Nevertheless, very nice track. Cheers!

The intro captured me instantly. Very smooth and relaxing! Very nice combination you pulled off man. You just created something incredible. Your transitions from funk and dubstep is so slick, and once it's onto the specific genre, it sounds like it's own personal song with their own styles. I couldn't fav this fast enough! I encourage you to make more of this, my friend! Cheers!

Hello There!

Glad you liked it brother. I like to do these kind of tracks a lot because everytime i like a tune or any piece of music, i like to improvise on it and try to make it my way, as in if i had composed this tune, how i would have executed it. Thank you so much for the encouragement and really appreciate your kind words.

Even at its rawest form, this is very impressive. You have good usage of patterns and control. The melodies are nice, and the bassline is deep and hard. I encourage you to keep working on this. This sounds rather fine and well-rounded as it is, yet improvement is always good. But remember, if it isn't broken, don't fix it. Cheers!

This is tight, man. The different beat patterns is sick, and the choir adds alot. I also like the wind-chimes. It's simple, yet fresh. The vocals are a little low, so I couldn't really understand what all was said. Nevertheless, another cool track from you!

Thank you GoldenOokami for taking the time to enjoy my track. Sorry bout the vocals I was almost certain I should have made the vocals a little louder. It won't happen again. I just didn't want the vocals clashing too much with all the percussion. but I figured how to fix it . Thank you for helping me get stronger- EazyBeatz :)

on Valvedriven by StaticNomad
Is this one of your shortest tracks! Wow! Joking, my friend. This may seem odd coming from me, a person who doesn't look like one who'd listen to something of this genre, but let me tell you...this is beyond hardcore. Arguably the best Metal track I've heard on Looperman. The intro is heavy and capturing for someone who may be primarily into this specific genre. It obviously caught my attention, oddly.

Interesting riffs at :39. Constant drum pattern, which is hard and important.

At 1:17, everything immediately calms down, and that low bass or guitar (forgive my ignorance) goes solo along with the drum pattern. Soon after, the lower synth follows, nicely.

This continues, but at 2:15, the guitar (or bass) follows the same notes as the lower synth part, then does a different pattern, which still goes along with the guitar (or bass). That moment made me go "Yeah!" Not sure what it is, but that part makes me feel really good. Same thing happens at 2:36. A bit afterwards, the female choir comes in. Very nice addition.

This flows for quite a bit, but I couldn't get enough, so I didn't mind. At 3:30, some extra low bass comes, then at 4:10, it takes off, as if madness consumed the track, in a beautiful way, of course. Heheh.

Now, for some reason, at 4:30, the track goes silent for me. I'm sure this is a bug. Also, from 2:40 to 4:50, it is blank. But from 4:51 onwards, there's sound detected on Looper, but I hear nothing. I'm not sure what's going on. But from what I've heard, I really enjoyed it. No shit bits at all, my friend. I'll come back when this glitch is fixed. Till then, Take care!

Metallic greetings, Golden O.

Good to hear you're grooving to my unusual metal. This is one of my shorter tracks though I have quite few under 8 mins and I'm trying to make even more. This one may actually be a bit too short so I'm considering adding a proepr ending to tie things up as this abrupt one isn't very good.

"beyond hardcore" will do as praise for me.

Yes, that intro should get you roughly grooving away. It does every time for me. Until the guitar enters on 0:39, it's just a distorted sample cutup mix of bits of synth bass and bass guitar (samples of my own playing, no one eles's).

At 1:17, it drops down into weird chilling but the bassline you heard for the first 40 secs is pretty much exactly the same, just without the distortion.

"that low bass or guitar (forgive my ignorance)"

Your (non-) ignorance is forgiven. I don't really know how many people will be able to tell that the new low riffs are the same as previously heard, just undistorted. Perhaps not many - I can't say. I think taking the distortion off is a fun way of revealing what's already been playing.

Yes, around 2:15 my regular sort of electric blues playing comes in, initially just following that simple 3 note bassline. Then I run around the neck quite a bit as just following those three compelling notes would not be sufficiently interesting. I mix things up by adding another fizzier sort of synth bass. Later on, I'm adjusting the filtering on the synth basses to add variety and make things more intense in the heavier sections.

Yes, I love the female choir stuff and it was a huge boost to this track and what spurred me on to complete it after being stuck for months with the first few minutes. The vibe created by those ladies is really quite far out stuff.

"at 4:10, it takes off, as if madness consumed the track"

Yes, heavier drum beats there and massive synth bass and now those ladies are sounding quite epic. Really stirs me every time I hear it.

Sorry about the weird previous waveform glitch business. I can't explain it. I reuploaded a different version of the MP3 but that did nothing (still that big blank chunk in the middle) but now it seems to have fixed itself. Weird.

Not to worry - you should now be able to listen to the rest and see the complete waveform.

"No shit bits at all, my friend"

I don't really think there are any shit bits in this. That's just my shorthand, fun way of asking if any sections could be better. Some sections definitely could though whether or not I'll manage to achieve that remains to be seen.

Any other thoughts, let me know.

Until then, thanks for listening and appreciating something that I guess must be a bit different for you. Also a little different for me to make.

Take care
GoldenOokami
This is absolutely beautiful and gentle. Powerful message, with professional-like instrumentation, as well as great vocals are all within this track. I can't see a single flaw. The different elements put within this track is beyond outstanding. I encourage you to continue this, my friend. I couldn't fav this quick enough. I feel this should be heard world wide. In general, especially in the media, love isn't seen or displayed as it should be. But this usage of love in this track is very positively displayed, and without a doubt, perfectly displayed. Beautiful work, comrade!

I like how this is laid out. The intro is a bit plain, but that's about the only thing that was a bit off for me. Everything else is nice, creative, and displays interesting intrumentation. Everything seems to flow great with each other. At 4:20, that one synth adds alot. Very unexpecting and simple. Very nice and simple outro as well. I am glad I listened to this. I was waiting for someone to comment on the synth on 4:20. At first I wasn't even going to bring it in, but decided to give it a shot. It still sounds a little weird to me, but I'm starting to get used to it. Hope most listening won't dislike it to much but then again, you can't please everyone.

on I dont care about that by kaylala
Very interesting intro. Like a small, short preview of the whole track. I also like how when the track begins after the organ/keys/rhodes, at 0:44, the instrumentation has that background sound, then at 1:07, it all comes out hard and heavy, which is nice. The beat flows greatly. The vocals are somewhat very low, and at times very hard to hear. At 3:27, the instrumentation does the background-like sound for the outro, which is very nice; ending the way it started. Altogether, very creative and fresh. The vocals were just difficult to really hear. I encourage you to continue this!

This is beautiful. Relaxing and chill. The intro is capturing, which is very important. The body of the track is funky. I like how you made off-beat percussion pattern section around 0:50. The synths are very unique. This is very well done. I like the fade out at 2:35. At 2:50, the bonus track starts, and I was still hooked from the previous one. Loving the 2nd track. Has a very funky jazz feel to it. Great work, comrades!

Thank you Ookami for this very nice review. I am happy you liked the songs.
It's a result of my exploration on some funky territories. I am trying to combine some jazz loops and samples from some great musicians of this site with my keyboard (synth/Rhodes piano) playing. I added some strangeness and nice ambiance in here as well.

I started to study more closely some funk patterns but this time the off-beat drums are simply a midi sequences from the EZdrummer plugin. I used only two funk drum midi patterns (2-bar and 4-bar long I guess) in this first track but there's some ethnic percussions and some other percussive sounds - that's why I was able to create some interesting motion and dynamic in here.

Thanks once again! Alex

Very good control here! I'm surprised that this sounds so good and is the unmastered version. This sounds perfect as it is. Very great choice of instrumentation. Very capturing intro.
