Description : experimental fusion/chillout track based on the 'hipless' bass loops no2 and 3 by planetjazzbass incorporating also fragments from 'Gore Beat in progress' by midisparks. Some percussions by ferryterry.
Update: the second bonus track is a short sketch of my new chillout song 'Moon Cave' featuring excellent jazz guitar lines by ferryterry.

Pretty cool groove and keyboard performances here! I do like your style of playing. I'm thinking the only part of the early track that I don't get into is the drums... for the most part they sound really subdued, as if if they are missing a bunch of frequencies. Like they have a filter that removed all the highs or something. Makes that part sound lower quality than it should. Just a thought. The second track in here is quite nice! A bit punchier in the rhythms, and the mixing sounds very cool so far! Keyboard parts are featured as I've come to expect from you, and they sound great! Seems like that one would make for a good breakbeat remix or something, no offense heh. Nice couple tracks though!
hi, thank you so much for a nice comment! Currently I am working exclusively on vst instruments (mostly free plugins played from Casio CDP220r). I am using the other cheap keyboard to get rid of the artificial weighted keys sometimes and just to get the actual idea of how the plugin may react lol). In a sense it's only an 'artificial' music, so I entirely agree that it's 'filtered' and some frequencies are obviously missing!
I will return to the acoustic music soon anyway, but the artificial world is really fascinating so far.
Thanks again for some nice words and interesting thoughts,
the groove on the first track is from PJB. Alex
first part is awesome. Bass line is awesome and the solo is fun. solid presentation. I would agree that it's weather report territory.
Second song is good as well. nice bass line work at the end to finish it.
Solid Work Alex.

Thanks a lot Steve.
It was great to discover Brian Ferry! I love music from 80's (I'm 30).
The combination of PinkFloyd 'echoing' and funk-disco synth sequencing on the 'Limbo' is excellent.
Thank you again for the inspiration and your interest in my music. Alex
This is beautiful. Relaxing and chill. The intro is capturing, which is very important. The body of the track is funky. I like how you made off-beat percussion pattern section around 0:50. The synths are very unique. This is very well done. I like the fade out at 2:35. At 2:50, the bonus track starts, and I was still hooked from the previous one. Loving the 2nd track. Has a very funky jazz feel to it. Great work, comrades!
Thank you Ookami for this very nice review. I am happy you liked the songs.
It's a result of my exploration on some funky territories. I am trying to combine some jazz loops and samples from some great musicians of this site with my keyboard (synth/Rhodes piano) playing. I added some strangeness and nice ambiance in here as well.
I started to study more closely some funk patterns but this time the off-beat drums are simply a midi sequences from the EZdrummer plugin. I used only two funk drum midi patterns (2-bar and 4-bar long I guess) in this first track but there's some ethnic percussions and some other percussive sounds - that's why I was able to create some interesting motion and dynamic in here.
Nice one, Alex. It has kind of a Weather Report sound, especially with the keys and bass. I see so many people use the term 'fusion' to describe their tracks, when it's clearly not. Yours, however, fits this genre perfectly. Great job!
Thanks a lot! I think WR is just pure fusion. It is something I am trying to 'emulate' but I do not think that 'emulating' is really a proper word here at all. All keyboards are just live performed as well as bassline and guitars (eventhough they are obviously loops) so in a way it is just some creative approach in here in finding the corresponding sounds from different classic genres mixed into some nice chillout.
Thanks again for some nice words - it is appreciated, Alex
I love these laid back grooves that you throw together. They always chill me right out and this is no exception. Love what you've done with those leads. Sounds really groovy. The other thing that impresses me is our upload rate. You seem to manage to write a new tune almost every day which is a feat in it's self.
Nice jazzy vibes here.
V. Cool!!!
I thought it had finished but then a new piece started. Kind of makes me wish it was summertime instead of being freezing cold and dark.
Cool efx and guitar playing in the second piece.
Really enjoy your stuff every time I drop by.

thanks a lot FreeRadical.
I am trying currently to discover and explore even more the funk keyboard playing so I keep practise some riffs. Probably this is the stuff I was going for a quite a long time including many years of total lack of creativity.
I am really happy you enjoyed this music - I was trying to upload this additional bonus track that I made yesterday a couple of times so now it is also visible as a waveform on this site.
Yes, I think the sound-image on the second track is a bit 'freezing' and 'cold' as you mentioned but maybe it's just simply my keyboard playing - I am actually a classical trained keyboardist so it obviously affects my productions.
thanks a lot soundhound. There's no processing (chopping and like) on loops here at all - they are all at a normal speed (100 bpm) just as performed.
All the rest (synth and Rhodes improv, synth pads and the entire composition and arrangement) it's just me playing it from the keyboard. Funky drums from EZdrummer plugin.
Thanks again for listening and nice comment! Alex
Really like the combo of the loops. Shout out to all of the loopmakers and you. This has a nice smooth mix too. Digging the bass and rhodes/keys. Quality track here Promenade. Till next time, peace

Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.
Description : This track is built around the repetitive lead guitar line which I have previously incorporated as an intro for the rocker track "Sweetheart Runner" by LM user TinyFinger whom I have helped in arranging, mixing and producing his song. This extended session was a good oportunity to test some new equipment....Thanks to Tiny for not being mad about it...:)^^
Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.
After a quite turbulent long travel we’ve reached a totally unknown planet which is mostly covered with clouds. As we pass over it we can see parts of rivers through the clouds that come out of the dark rocky surface in some places. So the whole scene is alternating textures of white, dark gray and silver flashes. Unfortunately there’s no chance to land anywhere so we just pass, wonder and travel on …

Description : Messing around with my midi keyboard (I am no pianist as you will hear). Just a bunch ideas put together with guitar and keys. Don't miss the end :-) it shows the obvious lack of inspiration to find a decent ending of the so called musician! This track is work in progress all ideas are welcome!
I will return to the acoustic music soon anyway, but the artificial world is really fascinating so far.
