I agree with Eshar, great chill going on, though when you got to those really fast arpeggio notes it didn't sounds too good to me. Goes into a really psychedelic trip with all that sliding near the end and I love it!

Great track!

D,
Thanks for the props. Yes I tend to get carried away on the guitar picking once in awhile. Others have mentioned this as well. I gotta lay off the coffee...Thanks D.

Really great, you have an amazing versatility.

Love the flamenco styles around 2:07/4:00 ish, great touch

Thanks Wookie.
Been at this a long long time.
When I decided to develop this song, I could not rest till it was complete. The guitar track was worked out note for note by tedious repeated trial and error to the point that I can forever play this one verbatim anytime anyplace without thinking about it. I appreciate your kind comments. I strive to be as versatile as the giants of music that influence my own expressions.

on SEARCHING FOR YOU by RonGallagher
Sorry about the heart, but thanks for the tune and hangin it all out there. Great playing.

A women can gouge out a piece of your heart, but the empty space is capable of holding more it would seem. Great emotion.
RonGallagher
RonGallagher replied Unknown
Hey Wookie. I appreciate your compassion. No need to be sorry though. Without the experience, there would be no expression and thus no song. By the way, here is an example of a single drum loop throughout. Had planned to have my drummer replace the track, though we never got round to it. So you see, the single drum loop can indeed work in many situations. Keep hammering and thanks again for the compliments.

Neil,
Thanks for the review. Cause for big smile and a chuckle or two. Yes there is something about those Shauna girls that just rips your heart out. I am thankful we have music to express the emotion. Otherwise I would probably end up doing time in some correctional facility or mental institution. Jail House Rock....

Sad folky and classical all mixed into one. They say blues can only be blues when you know some kind of personal pain, but I think you have put something of you into this that goes beyond the music and style. A track well worth listening to.

RonGallagher replied Unknown
Daniel,
Thanks again for taking the time to listen and making the effort to comment. The guitar holds so many voices, so many ways to express emotion, so many opportunities to create. Yes there is a certain sadness to this piece. Just as you embrace your guitar in your profile photo, my guitar embraced me in this song. Thanks again Daniel. Voltage

RonGallagher replied Unknown
Daniel,
Thank you for the kind review. Though I do apologize for stressing out your speakers...
I lean on my guitars for emotional therapy.
I believe the guitar is one of Gods greatest gifts to man. Our own miniature orchestra. Sometimes I need to be subtle and quiet. Other times I need to just scream. The guitar offers me all that and more. I say these things because I sense you understand. Play on brother. Thank you for the encouragement. I am inspired.

on WHEN I AM GONE by RonGallagher
Hi ya Voltage,

I don't think I have reviewed one of your songs in a few months. Sorry about that. Today is review day as I am about 20 behind before I post my next tune.

I like your acoustic playing and this tune overall. Acoustic guitars always have that nice ring to them. I myself bought 'Mitchell' last year and it sounds beautiful. I used it in my last country song.

I like your use of controlled feedback as well and the use of harmonics. Almost like a Sitar sound to me.
Very nice arrangemnt.

Thanks for sharing it...your a really good musician!

Hope to do more acoustic works as it just seems like the thing to do right now. I'll stop by for a listen soon. Many projects underway. Your encouragement is very much appreciated.

Wow..what a great panning lead....this is layered with that acoustic tracery of tinkling sound..there's nothing quite like the chimed resonance acoustic fingerstyle lends to a piece...it's why Crosby,Stills,Nash and Young were so popular...it has that universal appeal...the lead work is outstanding..I think this track is beautifully poised...it's a living breathing thing...marvellous work man..excellento!...cheers Dave :)

hope to hear more tunes like this from you! nice outside the box track. i'm thinking not having a bass line on this track enhances all that's going on!

RonGallagher replied Unknown
Neil,
I may well take your advice on the bass. We'll see. I do have a few ideas to at least try and see what happens. I can always stick with this rendition, but it still calls out to me for something more. As for going places, I am happy to get something posted here in the friendly confines of the looperman community. It feels like coming home in many ways.
Thanks Neil.

Thanks for listening and commenting. Though I have been making music most all of my life, I find that I am still learning. About music and myself. Struggling with some health issues right now, but when I get through this latest challenge, I hope to collaborate with you and Bilbozo on something special. It's a goal of mine. Thanks again Slap, you are one of the best musicians I have encountered. Much Respect. Voltage
