Hey Ron....I love listening to a track that I know is going to influence me and become embedded in my subconsciousness....really fluid guitar, flying notes totally zoned..soaring over the the great bass and piano foundation..this sort of sonic make-up is best described like a seabird flying over the ocean, they are both separate yet the same and intimately connected...Felix was such a great influence and integral part of the great age of rock..It's amazing how your tapping into this power source and making it totally your own...incredible work mate!..cheers Dave :)

Thanks Dave. You are so kind. To receive such praise and encouragement from one I know understands is cause for inspiration. I'll keep working on this one for as long as it takes to find that mix that brings out the elements i wish to convey. Perhaps do some arranging as well to make this a proper song with changes and dynamics, etc. Till then, this is my vehicle for experimentation. Thank you for encouraging me to carry on Dave. Very much appreciated.

High five man!!!! I love rock it's great. This track makes me want to stick a marrow down my pants, run into the Doctors and make some of the elderly patients faint with the size of my part...lol... Great track Voltage! I love your guitar playing. I wish I could rock out like you can. I would play naked, with only the guitar covering my bits. The only problem with that scene is it would have to be a big guitar. I can't afford a Gretsch country gentleman just yet lol....

Cheers Slap...

You are the BEST Slap.

First off, the guitar playing is excellent! However, I think that if there was more space in between all those notes, it would give the listener more direction(if that makes sense). Hearing the background bass, drums etc... being the same for a while is probably the cause. I just think that if there were more pauses in between and breakdowns, instead of just constant playing, it would be far more interesting. All said though, you can definetely play the guitar man. I wish I had your skill!

G,
Thanks for the compliments and suggestions. Much appreciated. I agree the arrangement needs to be developed further. This project started out as an experiment to test various engineering techniques and process. I may well focus on an arrangement and perhaps a lyric at some point. Right now I hope to bring the drums up a bit and I continue to try everything I can to find a more defined bass. I'll try to drop you a line should I eventually work up a proper arrangement. Till then Thank you for the kind words of encouragement, taking the time to listen and making the effort to comment. I am inspired. Voltage

Ok... I listened to this 2wice.
Yep, there's some passion in the playing which is good.
To me this is a 4 minute & 30 second run-on sentance. I suggest you re-cut it. Find a few of the motif's/melody lines and arrange some phrases.
Now that you got the initial angst out of your system, I feel you could REALLY arrange a rockin' piece of music from this.

Usually headphone mix and it seems to work for me. I appreciate you taking the time to review and I am honored you would Fav any of my work. Thank you. Voltage

Hey mate...nice suspended feeling in the intro then the ground drops away from under you with the percussive elements...great touch..I've been listening to a bit of early Dimeola lately..he's way too fast for my ears these days..I like to savour notes..just like what's going on here..some great little turnarounds..the whole sound is excellent..Cheers Dave..ps..how's the beach treating you, well I hope.

Planet,
Thanks my bro. Still setting stuff up. Looking for gigs, etc.. here in SoCal. I dig Dimeola as well. I try to instill some of that same spirit in many works. Not much chance to get to the beach though we have done some video work down there. Pretty much digging into the archives, editing and posting. I'll send you a link to about 100 works from my personal documents. Many bands i have been in, many Live tracks, much more. Been carrying around tons of media for many years waiting for the opportunity to share. That time is now. Thanks again Planet. I'll be in touch.

THis is beautiful. I think I saw your profile on talentrove, so I knew I was in for something special, and I must say you did not disappoint. Listening to this with your description in mind creates just layers and facets of beauty and comfort, and security. It makes me feel like I am at home with the tribe, this is what I hear and all is well on the tribe grounds. And everything is beautiful. If anything I would say the percussion almost puts a veil between the guitar and my ear, but it's still beautiful all the same. Excellent work, cheers.

Chris,
Thank you so much for the encouraging review. Yes I know what you mean about the delay. Just happened that this take came about in one pass direct to stereo and though it was a bit drenched...I could not conjure a better take no matter how many times I tried. So I went with the vibe take. Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment. I owe you and a bunch of other Loopermaniacs reviews. Just relocated from Phoenix to SoCal and I am scrambling to get the gear set up proper again. Then perhaps I'll take another shot at this one in multi track...
Thanks Chris.

on DEAR KITTY by RonGallagher
I had to favourite and download this... Anne Frank's story touches me and this song is so suiting and beautiful. The guitar playing strikes a "chord" in my heart. Your voice played out the opening verse "Dear Kitty, I'm still alive" in such a haunting, yet beautiful manner. Overall, this captures the emotion and atmosphere associated with Anne Frank. It's brilliant.

Sorry for the delayed response. Your kind encouragement is very much appreciated. This was one of those magic 3-4am sessions alone in the studio. I love it when I can play back through the monitors at a good volume rather than having to rely on headphones all the time. Nothing like moving air. You sort of float around with the sound. Anyway, than you for the inspiration. I believe a new set of strings is in order. Much Respect,

on ACOUSTIC LADYLAND by RonGallagher
Hello Voltage,

Thought I'd stop by and give a listen to this tune. I like acoustic guitar as I have a 'Mitchell' here I bought last fall.

I've used it in some of my country tunes, but not anywhere else. It is hard to keep up with all the different instruments I play.

Anyways, I am sorry you lost this girlfriend last year. There is usually a good reason and both parties have to agree on most things, or relationships don't work out. As for me, I am Legally Separated as of Oct. 2007, but I've had enough wives so I won't be looking around anymore. My music keeps me very occupied now and my rotating shift work job.

I like your playing here and arrangement. You did a very nice job here and I like it a lot.
Keep up playing and enjoy what time you can making more music.
I plan on adding more vocals to my tunes now that I have found someone in another state that can sing well and collab with that way. (Warrior777 on here)

Thanks for such a "Sweet" review....
I had a lot of fun riffing on this one. Sometimes you just have to let the music call the shots and let it flow.
I am still learning to let things happen rather than trying to be a control freak all the time. I guess that's where the Love is.
Thanks again.

I do have a lyric and a few more progression options in the works. Going through one of those overwhelming periods we all go through as artists. Many loose ends calling for attention.
Thanks for listening and commenting. Much appreciated.
