Funny with this track, I really dont like the vocal but lol, still could not stop myself listening to the whole piece and then going back to listen to it again...WEIRD....actually liked the track better after the second listen, adding to favs mate, not many tracks make go back for a second listen...Peace n Respect mate...Estefano....
hhhhhmmmmm...nice... I'm digging the vocals on this one some really truly nice stuff and the quality is amazing... you guys work really well together...
this I ashamed to say is only the third time I've checked out your stuff and I'm glad as before that I did... I'm hearing Floyd..dire straits...santana...elements of metallica or gnr...
hands down the best production quality I've heard here on the loop for years...
if you guys ever want to get together and put out an E.P on the label give us a shout because this would be huge...
Hey man thanks for the great review!...it's interesting reading your take on the influences running through this piece and even better that in a collaboration they all can come out...we all play off each other and give appropriate space and freedom during the whole process, working with these guys is a communal buzz..thanks for the offer man,I really appreciate that!..cheers from Dave,Detlef,Bill and Steve :)
Dola creases me up. I think he probably could give Eminem a run for his money.
I would love to know the story of how you two came to collab.
Your instrumentation is fantastic and in places reminds me of some George Martin inspired Beatles.
An unexpected collab to an extent, but one that works really well.
Hi Elaine..well in actual fact I contacted Dola about a possible collaboration as I'd always found his proto obscenic style almost Dadaist in nature....plus I'd been soaking up all the HH radiation around this place for God knows how long I virtually glowed in the dark..which probably goes to prove the more vociferous a protagonist the closer they are to crossing over..........Nah,I just made all that up! lol cheers Dave :)
Been a while since I swung by yer page so I figured that I'd see what you've been up to with your productions/compositions.
Play 2 now...
Cool ethnic drums going on here (you could add World to the genre list mix too). And those vox sound so familiar (they remind me of Chuck D from Public Enemy). The only thing I'd think to suggest is to maybe ditch the female vox (as they don't seem as cool as the main male stuff). The funk is def strong with this one (waves hands, not in that in-front-of-the-nose way, but in that like-I-don't-care way, haha). Keep bangin on mate. Lates!
Hey Donnie, thanks man..interesting comment about the female vox and I agree with you, initially I thought it was female too!all the vocals were generated in Zero-G's Vocal Forge Vst..you can make whole songs etc,I was trying to get some sort of different vocal continuity happening from the samples within it,but the selection was limited and they come in various pitches,I'm still not sure as to the gender ! lol...cheers mate Dave :)
This is a masterpiece. The bass and saxaphone comb is out this world. The whole arrangement no words for it. thanks for sharing this with us. God bless
keep em comming and moving thanks to you.bro...one love peace un less.ItIs timeeeeeeeee for warrrrrrr i mean war faces as long as the short of it is a smilke.peace
Matey this is one very trippy piece, and I am totally loving it, brillaint FX, again very nice pads, nice vocal touch, along with the birdie fx, one thing must say that the clarity of this is extra crystal clear which helps bring out all the little sounds through the track, nice percussion, this something you would see in a horror movie or something of the sorts, amazing adventure and journey all in one, hate those monsters lol...Extremely excellent track...massive credit to you Dave, on to be totally proud of...bye the good Collab, dont know anything about Mr Robot, apart from seeing sometimes when looking for loops etc...Fav'd big time...Peace n Respect dude...Estefano....
Another massive piece from you, this to me has a major Cinematic feeling about it, yep you have it under Fusion which is prob the right genre for it, as it does have a blend of genre's at times, sweet pads, great housey type of beat, only thing is the pad dropping out very quickly?? would liked to have seen it fade out rather then a big drop, as it takes away from the feel of the track when listening for the listener, as in what happened there...excellent synths and FX my friend, great arrangement and clarity of your mix...talented man....Fav'd...Peace n Respect Dave...Estefano....
I love the guitar in this piece it's straight beautiful. I love the poem on this interesting mix. I've never heard this genre do. Good by my ears do ":)
Hey I'm loving this track. It kinda has a jazzy feel to it. But that's the beautiful thing about hip hop. You can mix it with any style of music and do it in a hip hop way. The beat fits nice with the beat haha great sense of humor. Keep those tracks rolling :)
wow, what can i say or add any more input to this great song, when by the looks of everyones review they have said it all for me. what will it take, how much would it cost to get you guys to play live.
Hey Joe..thanks for the cool words!..man there's nothing I'd like better than to be performing live with Detlef,Steve and Bill...it is possible, but a very very costly proposition..we all live in widely separate countries with our own things going on...man it would be so cool though!..I will wish for millions!lol..cheers Dave :)
I'm loving the rhythms on this one! Modern tribal music! Really nice natural soundscapes! Great guitar riffs! Cool funky bass line! A very fun track! Faved for sure!
LOL!..hehe,thanks Toonz!I doubt there's anywhere else on the planet where a broader diversity of accents exist than in the UK....being a complete Anglophile I dig em all!..cheers from the all the guys...Dave :)
Very ethnic sounding!
I love the bass (i think it is bass).
Its like..a strange kind of high pitched bass, but i love it!
Real good feeling and vibes coming through this. Chills be out a bit will keeping me alert with the bass lol.
Hey Kenny Lee..thanks for the props man, much appreciated!..music is such a buzz and the thing is you never ever stop learning,I'm just scratching the surface of it..my ambition is to get about 2 feet into it! lol cheers mate Dave
Haha..well Kenny Lee I used to hate Hip Hop,I used to think it was an insult to my sensibilities and generation...Man I was so ignorant and biased, but being on Looperman exposed me to this music and like a lot of unfounded prejudices I found I like it,I dig most music, and definitely all music where the participants are enjoying themselves...I'm no homie sitting on a stoop though! lol...cheers Dave ;)
The last track in my Planetjazzbassfest. With this one, I've listened to and reviewed all your tracks. And I must say, it has been an abosolute pleasure.
Topping off with this piece is perfect. For some reason, it brings to mind the old spaghetti westerns (might be the whistling). Anyways, this baby is sweet.
Hey John you've been stalking my tracks! LOL...I do appreciate the time you've spent listening to my music and your insights..where would we be without feedback from our peers!...the interesting thing is especially in my earlier work and I would imagine this applies to a lot of people..it isn't so much that my ideas or playing was inferior at that stage it was because I was at the start of the learning curve of my DAW and trying to make the transition from old ways(analog) thinking to the new digital age..this is where Looperman comes in,it's often been said that once you join you improve and I totally support this contention..now that the transition has totally digitized I feel that I can express myself more readily and quicker than before.....plus if ever there was a musical sounding board Looperman is it.......In one review 'Mission to Murmansk'you asked how I got this synth sound..Damn! I've been trying to find it again for years!LOL..actually it's a patch out of Native Instruments FM8,should be easy to find right...wrong! lol I have at present count over 25,000 patches for this particular soft synth and the one I used I subsequently morphed out of recognition..I will find and recreate this sound though!(one day) lol...John if ever there was someone who encapsulates all the good things about Looperman and music in general it's you..you have an open mind and a wealth of experience honed by life's journey...It's not that I don't value younger peoples opinions it's just that there's a divide,is it pre internet versus post internet mentality..I don't know..I'm just glad we're both on the same side of the fence! lol..cheers for all your support mate!..Dave :)
