Description : Like the highlights of black in a painting are blue,so are the little foibles of everyday life, from the ants at our feet to the blue sky above..there's a bit of the black in blue in everything........planetjazzbass/arrangement ,bass,synthesiser....SlapJohnson /saxophone
ahhhhhhhhhh, this is MUCH better for a midnight listen.
i can feel myself swaying from side to side, like a tree from a gentle breeze, this is my get-a-way. my mind is mush, oblivious to the cares of my surrounds. finally...i relax and go wherever the muzic leads me. the water, the water is saying something...
it's like a gentle massage for the brain. i think i'd better be going now, i really enjoyed my stay. thanks for your hospitality.
that last chord at the end was the door shutting. thanks for sharing :-)
Hey Pat..thank you for dropping by and giving some of these old tracks a spin, most appreciated....if I'd known you were going to drop by I'd have made some tea and scones for you...(do Americans eat scones or even know what they are?..I'm suddenly thinking) lol...cheers Dave :)
This is a masterpiece. The bass and saxaphone comb is out this world. The whole arrangement no words for it. thanks for sharing this with us. God bless
Very deep and out of this world yet strangley still in it
i wish it was longer tho
and slaps sax is just a dream its something ive always wanted to hear but never have jazz this good is hard to find these days
My ears are constantly being assaulted via all forms of media by all sorts of "noise" claiming to be music....
so it is wonderful to know that there are places where one can still find real music. That's why the Loop is the place to be.
This is fantastic. Your bass is always so spot on, and Slap, well he is a freaking genius. But the best part on this was that last chord you played. One word to describe this one - AWESOME!!
Well done Dave (and Slap). Two of the best out there. Thanks for the soothing start to my day. Stay well.
Sorry for the late reply man!...My Looper housekeeping is never done! lol...Cheers Bear, any comment from you is always appreciated, not only do you understand music and the people making it, you look at life through 'reality' glasses. Dave :)
nice jungle jazz to this whole thing. lived listening to it. it is not distracting and can sit in the background of any kind of work. reading, house work and others. nice composition Mr planet.
respect
Thanks buddy...that's a feeling I share with you..I like to listen to music while I'm doing other things...music and house work go together! lol..cheers mate Dave :)
Think this is the first track I have heard of you and damm want be the last lol. I love jazz music SLAPJOHNSON came through and did his thing nice track
Soooo relaxing... I love this arrangement. Too many Jazz tracks on here have really synthetic sounding drums, or just sound like some straight up Kenny G elevator music (sorry to any Kenny G fans out there, the man may be good, but I do NOT like his style) This on the other hand was smooth smooth smooth. First Looperman Jazz track I've really gotten into. thanks.
He mate thanks, sorry for the late reply..I feel the same way about Kenny G it must have been his association with Michael Bolton maybe! lol..cheers buddy and thanks for the support..planet :)
This track it crazy. That Jaco Pastorious bass feel is ridiculous. This track amazes me an put me in a place of unlimited tranquil stability. Wow. What? When?... I am literally speechless on this track. This track forces me to take it to another level. Beautifully done. Oh yeah, this is my favorite now, hahaha. Can't wait to hear more.
Hey man..thanks for a great review...I was looking for a laid back vibe on this track, which probably means the next one will be more up-tempo.!lol..cheers mate planet :)
Hi planet, it's been a long time. I was gone for a very long time. It's nice to be back and I'm glad to see you are still here.
Re the track: I liked this track because I felt the ease and the relaxation in it, something I need ever more of, and something that seems ever more difficult to find.
Production id great, transitions are great, instrumentation is great.
Hey man..Long time no see!..good to see you back in the fold....I thought I spied your presence once or twice...the place has changed a little bit ..but then it really hasn't with a lot of the old crew back on board..great to have people that can actually spell!lol...cheers mate Dave :)
Super relaxed and chilled out. I damn near fell asleep at the computer. You really have a good clean sound. I like all the percusion and the panning of the shakers. Crazy change up. Did kinda have a live feel with that crowd in there. Pretty cool stuff man!
By the way I got another package from you the other day. Thanks again man! Really appreciate it!
Haha..I knew my music had a niche somewhere..I'm going to bring out an album for insomniacs....Neil Young has already done "Rust never Sleeps",so that title's out..lol thanks man..I was trying for a laid back feel with the throttle backed off...going to have to arc it up for the next one..no problemos man......cheers Dave :)
Mate you are so good, getting all the elements that you use to work so well together, listening to the piece you can tell that there is a lot of stuff going on, as always you get it to work so brilliant, one very talent Aussie, stunning man...fav for sure...Peace Dave...Estefano...
Hi,
Great feel to this track!Still this "round" and warm bass I love and great sax playing by Slap Johnson. So smooth, groovy and relaxing.
Thanks for the nice moment
Cheers
French Kid
oh .... listening again to one of your fabulous works I know what I missed so much while being away ... all that marvelous pictures you deliver with your incredible imagination!!
your music has substance ...
Hey rei..thanks man..I was trying for a subdued type vibe on this piece..but look out..my funky shoes are about to come out again! lol..great to see you around the Loop again my friend..you have no idea how happy you are making a lot of people feel..cheers Dave :)
Hey Abe..how's it going man...just because I'm an Aussie doesn't mean my music is Australian...I might be a reincarnated Brazilian or something! lol...I think AC/DC is very Australian in a 70's-80's pub rock style..not surprising as this is where they cut their sound....I'm going to channel something un-Australian next time.hahaha...cheers buddy :)
Hi Dave - hope you still remember me. Back again after one Year! (Wondering where time leaves...). So you made another time an amazing track. It has something very special. I admire your arrangement of this track apart from the high quality of mastering. So I had to dld this one... Peace and greetz from Berlin...
Hey mate!..of course I remember you..hope your radio show is going well..thank you for the kind review..be seeing you round the loop..and welcome back!..cheers Dave :)
Recognize this face? Just had to pop in and have a listen to your new scchtuff. Like your paintings, there are layers of innovation, creativity and talent. Such a distinct bass sound...I could pick you out in an orchestra of bass players. Awesome bro...talk to you soon !
Hey Bill!..so good to see you back in Looperville man..SlaP will be stoked as well..this place just isn't right without our very own guitar maestro....I haven't been on the mix at all lately, sometimes it's hard to find the time for more than one site..anyway bro..you've made my day!..ciao mate Dave :)
Channeling the 'tea smokers' of those days long gone by, are we? Bloody jazz-heads, with your free-form meanderings and feet grounded in The Cool.
But then, who needs to do drugs when you can make music that's this intoxicating?
I love your arrangement here, Dave. For me, your style of Jazz is truly a Down Under manifestation - even without the fx, there's the Spirit of the Outback and wild coastlines that permeates your sound. It's impossible to mistake your sound for anyone else's.
I'm still trying to get my head around how someone in Melbourne and someone in North Yorkshire can collaborate at that distance and still sound like they were exchanging molecules in real-time. That in itself is worthy of a fave.
Hi Sean....well I will admit to being addicted to tea,but only in it's beverage form! hehe...thank you for listening and your splendid review...I sometimes wonder about my direction in music and whether I should force a conceptual change....like a lot of people I'm a groove miner searching for that elusive feeling you get when things click..sometimes I hear that music in my head..I just wish I could get it out and on paper when it happens! lol....cheers mate Dave :)
one of your best thats is for sure. extremely good jazz groove. i love your basslines as always and who couldnt like slap's groove. nice one thats all i have for yah!
Hi Dave, it's always a pleasure to play on one of your tracks. This song has such a chilled vibe, it's the kind of track you hear being played in one of those funky shops you seem to stumble across while on holiday. The ones that sell loads of cool clothes and strange furniture that's always owned by a wacked out hippy dude.. I love your production, it always has real depth and richness. Please feel free to bounce stuff my way at any point, I just dig these vibes..
Ahhh....I knew there was a demographic out there for me somewhere! lol..Man you have no idea how close that description parallels this dude I met in Amsterdam in the 70's...except underneath his shop in the basement he was running a virtual boutique drug business!...and when someone touched his front door knob ..lights flashed in the basement..Ooh that's as good as an admission I was down there! lol..thanks for the woodwind mate..your an inspiration.... cheers Dave
I love the sense of space :) sitting here listening to it, I closed my eyes and let it take me wherever it will. Very relaxing and smooth but at the same time busy and exciting. ^_^
Masterfully done, Love the whole experimental aspect of this track. So much depth with the sound collage, reminds me of a rain forest. The recording quality is great and your levels sound perfect.
Depth, depth...depth!! Lots of it in this incredible track. Slap throws in a cake and you add the icing! Well done!. I definitely loved the section after the break (2mins or so). That part felt like a solo and the sounds all over were nicely layered with the drums and sax(?). Very nice. Everything clear and levels extremely fitting the genre. Great work guys.

Description : Every instrument is performed and recorder live. Piano, double bass, drums.
Instruments Used:
-"WELTMEISTER" upright piano (MADE IN GERMANY in 1938)
-"KAY" upright bass (MADE IN GERMANY somwhere in 1950th)
-TAMA Imperial Star + Pearl OMAR HAKIM snare + Various Ziljian cymbals.
I just put together some old ideas to see if it will work. Some vocals and brass, or guitars is clearly needed. Let me know what you think about it. Tnx
Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...
Description : This is track me and my friend (great jazz, blues musician) done
around this great vocal we acquired.
Lot of hours in it.
I had great fun making it!
Hope you people like it.
Love and peace.
Description : I think it's a late evening song to accompany you for a single drink.
Jazzy in most of the aspects. It is made single handedly so please consider it an experimentation for the thrill of making music.
Hope you will like it.
Description : This track made me just stop working on it and listen to it for enjoyment.
Smooth Mellow funky Jazz. Uses: 0111003-djrumplestiltskin-swung-funk-drum-beat, 0087009-mrroads442-guitar-line, 0072485-michiel555-mellow-funk, 0058934-ferryterry-90-bpm-soprano-sax. Is this Funk or Jazz?
Description : This track contains only free loops from Stayonbeat.com and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D
I dont think this one needs a vocal, but ofcourse you can use it if you want, and as always, just write and i will give any support as i can. Any feedback welcomed too as always. Enjoy! UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!

Description : Something a bit different from us. I (Bobo) played guitar, synth, midi bass and percs to this piano loop by LM's most excellent Rasputin. Wataya, stoned as usual, thought he heard Barbara Streisand singing. This is the result.
Description : I created a hip hop groove in Logic and decided to duel some Saxophones. I am playing the Baritone sax on the left pan and the Tenor Sax on the right pan.
I added some bells like a boxing match bell to give it a fight drama feel. The hip hop track itself is dope to me. The duel is cool too. Who won?
