woah seriously good work pbj, love the style of the whole track

NightHawk 9th Aug 2011 15:51 - 15 years ago

Awesome beat man!
The flow of the rapper isn't really my style but fits good man! :)

CyberSon 5th Aug 2011 09:39 - 15 years ago

OK, so this was my first freaky incident today! PJB does Hip Hop! (man, if someone tells me smoking is bad for me then my day is gonna be totally freaked! Oh, wait hang on!)

This is an awesome tune my friend! Fantastic musical arrangement and when that bass solo comes in, Wow! Dola's rhyming was fantastic and it works so well with the music.

Great work my friend, I really enjoyed it! Now I'm off to read the news article about drinking lager being really good for....wait a minute!

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Lol...that made me laugh..I used to think HipHop was train wreck mentality(a lot of it is)..but even more amazingly I learnt to like it...glad you enjoyed it..though listening to Dola might be bad for your health! lol..cheers Dave

eshar 2nd Jul 2011 11:01 - 15 years ago

Dola creases me up. I think he probably could give Eminem a run for his money.
I would love to know the story of how you two came to collab.
Your instrumentation is fantastic and in places reminds me of some George Martin inspired Beatles.

An unexpected collab to an extent, but one that works really well.

Elaine

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hi Elaine..well in actual fact I contacted Dola about a possible collaboration as I'd always found his proto obscenic style almost Dadaist in nature....plus I'd been soaking up all the HH radiation around this place for God knows how long I virtually glowed in the dark..which probably goes to prove the more vociferous a protagonist the closer they are to crossing over..........Nah,I just made all that up! lol cheers Dave :)

Alcraine 15th Jun 2011 19:44 - 15 years ago

Hey I'm loving this track. It kinda has a jazzy feel to it. But that's the beautiful thing about hip hop. You can mix it with any style of music and do it in a hip hop way. The beat fits nice with the beat haha great sense of humor. Keep those tracks rolling :)

Keep Hustling

Alcraine

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey Alcraine...thanks man! there's more than a little laissez-faire in the Hip Hop attitude..I like that aspect! lol..cheers mate Dave :)

digitalSKYY 4th Jun 2011 02:17 - 15 years ago

Lol, awesome man. Hard to see you chillin behind a comp making hip hop beats!!
Awesome stuff love.
Love the beat and the voice.
Very good

Keep Em Coming!

Cheers
Kenny Lee

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Haha..well Kenny Lee I used to hate Hip Hop,I used to think it was an insult to my sensibilities and generation...Man I was so ignorant and biased, but being on Looperman exposed me to this music and like a lot of unfounded prejudices I found I like it,I dig most music, and definitely all music where the participants are enjoying themselves...I'm no homie sitting on a stoop though! lol...cheers Dave ;)

HaruTune 28th May 2011 12:43 - 15 years ago

This is really dope.

I like it.

More Hip Hop tracks would be nice.

Great Job!!!

Regards HaruTune

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Thanks Haru!..glad you liked it..more Hip Hop in the future for sure!...cheers Dave

Phyruis 28th May 2011 12:42 - 15 years ago

some really good stuff... loving the bass solo...

I would have like to have really heard that kick...but maybe thats just me... maybe mixing up the kicks with an 808...

keep 'em coming brother

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey PBJ..thanks for the listen man!..Yeah,in future Hip Hop grooves I'll be paying more attention to things like the kick,it's taken me awhile to absorb the genre and I've got along way to go as I want the stuff I do to sound 100% Planetjazzbass (the instrumentation anyway) and not generic..cheers mate and thanks for the advice!..Dave :)

PWalrus 27th May 2011 14:48 - 15 years ago

Hell yeah man, this is awesome. I like the flow over it, and the beat is super laid back. It has a drugged feel. It has a lot of swing to it too. The vocal recording is really good too. Very cool.

Check out some of my creations if you feel so inclined! :)

Enjoy man
P.

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Thanks man!..no drugs were abused in this production! lol (at my end anyway)lol..thanks again..cheers Dave :)

toddj 22nd May 2011 05:06 - 15 years ago

Wow what a massive track! I can't say that I like the rap that much. I have to admit the humor is completely off the wall and sometimes funny. The musical track and the beats are totally great! You've definitely got hip hop skills.

Peace out,
Töddj

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

When leaving a review try and be helpful and give constuctive praise or critisim.
Well I'am a little speechless right now trying to digest what I just heard!
But I must say it's fantastic, usually I would turn to something else after a few seconds since everything sounds the same these days, but not this. 2 thumbs way up.

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hehe..Thanks man..I was a little speechless myself when I first heard Dola's lyrics!lol..the guy is anything but boring and definitely in a class of his own (he probably was at school!) LOL...cheers mate and many thanks from Dola and myself :)

G'day Dave

Mate this is so massive, one of the best hip hop tracks heard on site, wow you doing hip hop lol, this is one very impressive piece, not much I can say on this one, because everyone else has already said it already, totally amazed by this my friend...brilliant...Massive fav'd...Great Collab...Peace n Respect...Estefano...

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey Esti..thanks man,the thing is I've always liked Hip Hop but have really struggled with the attitude..well mainly the gangsta bravado, you know what I mean, you shall never see me with my hat on backwards though! lol...cheers buddy Dave :)

nepaul 26th Apr 2011 21:15 - 15 years ago

The track turned out amazing! Instant Looperman classic. You made the right choice linking up with Dolawhite. This is hip hop music on psychedelic mushrooms. Pass me another handful.

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey Paul..thanks from Dola and myself man..I've said this before and I'll say it again..it's primarily from listening to your music that I made the transition to accepting and digging Hip Hop music....That's huge man!..I've tried getting some friends of mine to do the same, but their not just set in their ways....their cemented!..lol..cheers man and thanks again!...Dave

BrokenScythe 22nd Apr 2011 04:24 - 15 years ago

Wow, This is pretty sick. Has this pull along to it. The strings really slug along. Bass solo came out awesome, nothing like hearing someone slapping a mean bass solo out.
Smooth perc work, nice instrumentation all around.
The track overall has a nice heavy set feel to it. The raps are surprisingly ill considering the lyrical content haha, it takes someone skilled to pull off that kind of cheese with that kind of grime.
I enjoyed this PJB! bomb collab man.
Keep on grinding fam.

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Thanks from Dola and myself man!....it's been an interesting mix that's for sure..and it'll go on from here with some future maetrial planned between the two of us....cheers bro Dave :)

John

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey John..I had a similar reaction when I first heard Dola's material on the loop..the guy is very entertaining, witty and humorous, there's other things I can't say without the blasphemy filter kicking in! lol..cheers buddy Dave :)

dolawhite 20th Apr 2011 19:00 - 15 years ago

Awesome track! Dola kills it and Dave awesomely slays the instrumental and wraps it all up in a nice little package.

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Ahh man...now every time I access this track there's a banner add saying "Contact single Thai girls now!" LOL..I'm giving them your phone number...you earned it! haha...cool flow dude! Dave ;)

Alen9R 20th Apr 2011 17:13 - 15 years ago

This is EPIC, professional sound track, all the elements are perfect, strings, bells, drums .. dola is ill haha ...
awesome track...I do not know what more to say!

WHOOOAAAA PLANET AND DOLA?

I thought I was hallucinating but its true!
Psychedelic wonder of a track, those bells
and stringz are marvelous! Excellent drums as
well they just get me head nodding! Ahahaha
Faved!

Much Respect from LA

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey Yesh..you are hallucinating! Dola ground up some old Orange barrel he had lying around and digitised it into his vocals! lol....cheers mate Dave :)

lelandchapman 19th Apr 2011 22:47 - 15 years ago

Lots of cool stuff going in this track. Dolawhite with his hypnotic voice and strange lyrics to the liquidy guitar and bass put down by Planetjazzbass. I like the mix well enough. Maybe consider putting the drums more forward in the mix closer to a traditional hip hop sound. Although I do like the drums on this track.
The drums samples them selfs are a good choice but its the groove I can really appreciate. Good show on this one.

Mucho Respect lelandchapman

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey mate..thanks for the cool review!..Dola is probably a real Hypnotist..hell imagine that..we'd all be in for some really weird sh#t!lol...I hear what your saying about the drums,I put them as far up front as practicable because of their frequency spread..there's a lot of highs in them as well..but I know what you mean and the point is well taken..in future a more thudacious beat will be used..cheers mate and thanks for the listen..cheers Dave :)

CONEYISLANDRECORDS 19th Apr 2011 22:34 - 15 years ago

Nice beat there Dave. Im impressed. Never would have thought Dola and Planet would hit up a track but you guys may honestly be onto something.

More Hip Hop tracks to come?

They become addicting I know that first hand.

Would love to see how you would go about flipping a sample.

Kudos to you and Dola!

Scratch one off the bucket list haha.

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey mate..the bucket list! lol..yep...I spent far too long looking down my nose at Hip Hop initially and thanks to guys like yourself,Nepaul and Dola I turned my prejudices around, your right though this won't be my last foray into the Hop pool once you accept something you absorb it..this ol dog still has a few tricks up his sleeve but so many more to learn!...cheers Dave :)

jfw 19th Apr 2011 19:55 - 15 years ago

Not that I would know from experience - but I'll ##### it's true!Hey Dave - this is great! I love genre juxtapositions but rather than sounding contrived and grafted together this works perfectly. I think that with this you have shown the way that Hip-Hop should go - superb!

Jamie.

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey Jamie, thanks man..haven't been to Thailand since the 70's but I have been there, nudge nudge wink wink....no wot I mean.lol...cheers mate Dave :)

Spivkurl 19th Apr 2011 18:18 - 15 years ago

Wow this rules! Not what I expected to hear at all! I'm lovin the bass solo! Great lyrics and performance! Awesome instrumentation! Gotta fave this one!

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey Spiv..thanks man!always expect the unexpected I guess..if I put out some Polka music please have me committed! lol..cheers Dave

theHumps 19th Apr 2011 17:32 - 15 years ago

"I'm ignant", haha!!

Jason has been one entertaining, original talent on the loop, certainly has his own way of expressing life. The track is dark and deep, ya, Barry nailed it, big Floyd sound here, waiting for Gilmore's lead.ha

Very cool collab, yo, yo, you go boi! ;)

Wayne

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey Wayne..yeah mate! Dola has it,whether it's his laissez-faire style or stepping off the curb flow the guy is f--king entertaining, and in this business that's golden..cheers your homie buddy Dave ;)

2secondimpression 19th Apr 2011 15:24 - 15 years ago

very professional production, loved the texture of sounds. its a great track the lyrical flow is good as well a nice track indeed

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hey thanks man!..you know your tag name is so relevant to music these days..I hope we managed to positively imprint within the time frame!..cheers Dave :)

ShortBusMusic 19th Apr 2011 07:17 - 15 years ago

Oh my, Dave you have officially gone over to the dark side, hahaha. This is outstanding. If Pink Floyd put together hip hop beats, this is what they would sound like. Terrific mix, and Dolawhite is one of a kind. Man, I think you guys have created funk/fusion/hip hop. Best track I've heard in the past week.

Definitely added to favorites. Now that you have dipped your toe in the pool, you just might be inundated with requests for collaborations and personal messages asking for beats :)

Outstanding effort and my hat is off to two of my favorite peeps.

Bear

PS, I love the title to this track. But it ain't just Thai girls who fake it, hahahaha.

Planetjazzbass replied Unknown - 2028 years ago

Hehe..and I have to put up with wearing this big German type helmet and gas mask whenever I go outside!...well at least dressing is easy everything's black! lol..thanks for the thumbs up Bear...you old homie you!..cheers Dave :)
