Hi Dave,
seeing how this has been put at the top of your list I thought I would give it another listen. The only problem I found was I did not add this to my Fav list the first time
Problem fixed :)

Very soothing yet aggressive track all in one cohesive mix. the lead synth sounds as if it is screaming in pain but yet sounds like triumph to one's soul. the guitar represents life in all it's quick occurrence at the speed of a thought. the drum forever beats and lingers only to one day stop beating and die out. this is a perfect representation of life itself jazz, especially with the minor sound fx in the background towards the end. excellent job. peace

Sorry for the late reply to your great review Neo!..if there was a way to spontaneously create music in real life situations without lugging instruments around like a "Life" sound track it would be very interesting..cheers mate ,I shall be visiting your profile page shortly! Dave

It is amazing what wonderful music can spawn from a single drum loop. This has the signature Planet bass line, brilliant and elegant, coupled with this marvelous synth work, then layered with JFW's guitar work - exquisite my friend.

It's like this fantastic musical cake.

You took all of the ingredients, mixed them perfectly, and voila, you came up with this masterpiece. What a great way to start my day, with a perfect, flawless Planetjazzbass piece of art.

This goes really well with Kona coffee :)

Its only just occured to me that I haven't actually listened to your tracks despite knowing about you as a member for about 10 months.. glad to say I finally got round to take a listen.

This track is amazingly relaxing, great strings, nice fx's in the background, it all flows together really well and you've done a really good job here.

I can't really point out much for improvement either, which is always a good thing.

Nice job, I doubt this will be the last track of yours I review!

Ste :)

As I listened to this track I sat on my porch in a lite fog at six am. The music flowed as the fog rolled in. Your music was the sound track for this mornings experience. My uncle and reedman, Buddy Collette would have loved hearing it. "We dig" is my reply as I am sure it would have been his. Peace...

Hi Bert..I'm very touched by this review, apart from the splendid environmentally 'being there' aspect of it the thought of your Uncle Buddy enjoying it fills me with good melancholia...the lives of people really amount to how they live on in other's memories..cheers mate and thanks for the listen! well ... i hate fusion, but this is just my taste, i like the compo i think its rock solid, i didnt hear anything offbeat, it sounded dark-ish and creepy-ish, but thats fusion i think like sitting inside a microwave what do you expect from that.
great work

No doubt about it - more stuff with JFW and Zappo PLEASE! You're collaboration work is always synergistic - and always exceeds the sum total of musicians involved.

There are some moments in this where it sounds like JFW's guitar and your bass are on and the same, and then like RNA transcription they unzip from each other.

Everything is fantastic about this piece - composition, arrangement, and even the glitchy texture moments. Another favorite added to my list! Thanks.

Hi Sean..thanks man,,yep no doubt there's more than a bit of simpatico happening.....initially when the digital age arrived I thought "great, now I'll be able to make music without all the baggage of band members and their ego's"..little did I know at the time that it would introduce and expose me to like minded musicians as well...sometimes I think Looperman is more an introduction agency! lol..(perish the thought)..cheers mate Dave :)

Well this is very good...and no offense to anyone else but this tune seemed to actually match the genre that you gave it.
There seemed to be a great connection between the tele, the clock and your song title.Everything was real moody as it should be and the quality was extra nice.
Great!

wow... I had to do a double take really quick...
For a second I thought this was gonna go Hip-hop!
lol
Wow... JFW's synths are totally making me feel the space of time ... how moments float in and out depending on the tonal mood.
(EDIT) OH wait those were yours?! NICE!
JFW's Guitar playing was right on too... I would have a hellava time following the deep waters you treaded on this.
your bass work has SUCH clarity?!
I love how you play it on all the right blue notes. yum.
I am really appreciating the glitchy little tid-bits here and there.

This reminds me of doing LSD. But the audio type.
Great stuff!

Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.

Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.
