this is the first on my new set-up, I'm chuffed to bits its all up and running, i hope you can all hear the difference.
I would like to dedicate this track to @The FrenZ, he gets a verse to explain

Hey Paul, I listened to this track and big improvement overall. your voice is so much clearer. That new sm brings out the emotion in your voice. A great journey from shitty setup to this. Your mixes getting good. Lyrics like a mantra. Love this concept of repetition. There's is so much life in your voice, unusual and I pressed the play key :). There are certain ideas I'm gonna copy. I love how you eq vox to become more distant. It feels like the duality in ourself. Different characters trying to find their places and communicating. Love what you doing here.

wow Lu always love to receive a comment of thought from you, your a cool friend i have always appreciated and i know your time is often limited, i invested in a hobby that became a passion and improved my mental health and me as a person, so the money i have spent has been a solid investment because it was me and my health that i was investing in, you can't really put a price on that

I love the intro to this. I'm no expert when it comes to Hip Hop, but I really like the vocals, as it's not delivered in an American accent and therefore sounds quite unique. If I was going to draw a comparison, expecially the vocals, then I'd have to say it reminded me of The Streets at times? Overall, a really good track, not what I expected, and as I say, I'm no expert when it comes to Hip Hop, but I like to listen to different genres on Looperman. Your new set up sounds great and it shines through on this track too. Yeah, really great track mate, I like it.

hello Bullitt thanks for the stop off, i'm glad you brought up the difference between UK and USA rappers, they are different in flow and delivery and both have their place in todays listening and being a proud north easterner from the Boro but livin in Birmingham, i still talk like a boro lad not a brummie i have never tried or wanted to be anything other than me, and bring my own individual character, the streets i have had many comparisons with and I gracefully except it everytime Mike Skinner writes good lyrics, thanks for a nice comment bruv

Hi Paul, this is a well-crafted, emotional track, and it honestly sounds a cut above your previous tracks. As you might know, Im no Hip Hop expert... so, admittedly, I always struggle a bit when it comes to reviewing tracks in this genre. It just feels awful to me to offer an opinion on things Im not really well-versed inyou know what I mean? Thats not to say I cant recognize where the quality lies, though...
With this particular track, I noticed that various elements gradually shift sideswhich, of course, isn't exactly uncommon. However, in this case, the elements involved are ones where I wouldn't typically expect that to happen (at least from a traditional standpoint)such as the bass, the snare, or even the entire drum kit. As I said, I don't know the first thing about Hip Hop, so it's entirely possible that this is just how things are done these days. Regardless, youre forging your own path, and youre doing a fantastic job. Keep moving forward, brother!
Cheers,
Micky

thanks for the listen and feedback Micky, i have always tried to push boundaries in my music, sometimes i beat myself up because i have my plans and ideas that are more structured and follow the standard format but i love messing shifting the panning side to side, i like a bit of ping-pong in sound too, i use lots of automation also, i mess with stereo editing and shaping and like reverb delay interwoven with resonance shifts.
I have quite a few good tracks penned and I am going to bring just a straight down the middle piece no sideways movement apart from maybe a couple of overlays left or right but nothing else and see how i think it sounds,
i do use reference tracks also at times as a guide, but tend to divulge to show a little creative flair, i suppose it really is the music choice,
if i do a ballad, I use Manuela, well i use an expensive Studio master of hers that her producer Nic sent me, when we were working together, her voice is amazing the master is so professional and sounds gorgeous and of course I would never ever share it, it was a personal gift, she is a big part of our community with her support and advice to most, you are also one of the artist along with Rob and Cru who i looked up to for guidance, you all helped me and also allowed me to be a little crazy, and to be truthful, hip-hops boundries are limitless so your still qualified to have your own opinions mate, it has crossed into all genres because of its lyric content from rock to jazz to funk and pop any rapper could spit 8 bars and it would or should stand out in the track, i'll keep pushing because that's what this community taught me, its artist are daring and prepared to push things, just like you mate with your amazing compositions only difference being yours sound f#ckin great everywhere lol

I was reading your other comments...u have a purple pork pie hat?! Ha! There is always something quirky and new to learn about a friend. Ive heard this one, my brother played it for us last weekend when we were just checking out everyone's recent work. I forgot to come and shoot u a comment from my profile tho, so here I am lol. I can for sure say that there has been some overall improvement to your music, alot of small things that the average listener might not catch until theyve heard your other work, and a few bigger things. All of that adds up though. And the new equipment has given u a boost and u can be more confident in the quality of your work too. So that's a huge success, bro. You have a unique voice and a compelling perspective, Paul. It has always shined through to me, and even without your new equipment i have no doubt youd still be putting out bangers anyway. Nice work, my friend. All the way around.

one more thing, id like you to do a verse for one of our last few songs we're gonna be doing for our album. I wouldn't want to release the album without that being done, honestly. I can send u the sections/songs that we're working on, or will be, if thats ok. Email?

its good to receive from you bruv, we been friends for time, and our group certainly gelled and bounced together, we have all watched each other grow over the years and people like yourself have noticed the small changes that i try to bring using things like stereo seperation resounance using mono and stereo layers, i try to get loudness and definiton with other tools that you have far more control over than just pumping up the EQ volume slider, this community and its talent have been an enormous part of my story, helping me and aiding me, i am truly grateful for this. but i want to be truthfully honest Aaron. the thing I love this place for more than anything other than my grandchildren was how it released me from holding on to thoughts and feelings.
I struggle with my mental health and possibly anxiousness believe it or not. this community improved my issue more than anything, i searched hard, that journey was a long time bruv 20 years and the change to my life has been incredible since i found this passion it gave me confidence it gave me myself belief back, its people are the reason Im still here, not the platform as a whole, the success of the platform is important of course but if we lose its people, i feel i would loose out big style, i carried all my grief, i knew i needed a release from it, i was petrified when i joined, i was known as the man with a big heart, i then I wrote a song about my pain and the very first comment brought instant relief because others felt it reflected parts of their own lifes, i had tears rolling down my face, have i found what I've always been looking for, it was instant relief, i have never looked back
dimestop was born, he is the man that felt trapped inside for years, yes he's only a character, but because of the difference he has made to my life, i will be forever grateful to him even tho he is only a figment of my crazy thinkings
happiness doesn't necessarily come from having everything it comes from the balance inside first and then LM gives you a stage to perform and share your personal journey with like minded people all around the world who also have their own struggles, and you can show have far you have come in your own self, its simply beautiful

Hi Dimestop!

To be honest, I don't usually listen to this genre of music much because I don't know English, and I think the lyrics are the most important thing in this genre. But I've been browsing through your repertoire, haha.

First of all, there's definitely a noticeable improvement in sound with the new equipment.

Secondly, you have an unmistakable, unique voice. Just like I told RichardShekari at the time, I'd recognize one of your songs anywhere, except for the one you did with IA, haha.

And thirdly, you create incredible lyrics. Until a few days ago, I hadn't noticed that some people uploaded lyrics that you could read. To find out what the lyrics said, I'd download the song, separate the vocals from the music, and use Audacity to transcribe and translate them, like I did with Rita's songsquite an ordeal, haha. Now that I've listened to yours again, reading the lyrics, I can tell you that you have a special gift for writing. By the way, the Spanish guitar always sounds good in songs, hahaha.
Best regards, Juan Carlos

hi Juan thanks for stopping off, i have been a follower of hip hop for 40 years it all started for me as a dancer, i done the holiday camps and spent 3 years as a younger man having fun, i was a street dancer i carried on until i was 55 until i dislocated a rib doing a windmill lol, my son came in to hospital and laughed maybe now its time to quit the energentic stuff Pops, i was introduced to music production and fell in love with it, especially the LM community it was naturally the path i would choose hip hop, i have done Indie and Ballads but i do love my hip hop its a culture my friend it was quite political and explosive in its early days too and the dancing grafffiti wearing bright colors was all part of it and standing out.
i have had a very intriguing life complicated and painful at times with tragedy sprinkled in also so lots of my lyrics are based on my life or friends close too me and my job is to make the story come to life and feel as real as possible, i love to play a part in helping to build what we have here and moreso comment and give feedback and encouragement to my talented friends and of course my friend the spanish guitar is a huge part in hip hop too a truly wonderful sounding instrument with definition and character, i also don't leave comments to recieve them back, i do it to inspire others after you work on a production and to hopefully encourage you to continue as the community will emrace it make you feel your time spent was worthwhile, it all makes toward a safe place to help you feel comfortable sharing your music, i also have an extremely close group here but i include everyone, as you have to be brave to bring your own music and stand up to be counted and judged. artist are one of a kind, we share a passion

thanks for your lovely comment Tripple, your right life sometimes gets in the way of the things you love doing, but if its not paying the bills, you have to concentrate on the things that do, i never got into music for the money, i have friend who made millions in the 70's in a big band for me it was more to do with unburdening some of the weight from hurt i carry and it worked better than any medication i was prescribed when i started to write my own songs and it gave me the relief i was looking for, that's why this community feels special to me, because it allows me to be me, it embraced me and I made many friends, this will always be the place I call home when it comes to music and I appreciate every artist who gives me their time as that is a valueable commodity that belongs to somebody else and they have chosen to spend some of it with you and its limitless talent is inspirational for everyone if you take part

Fantastic track. The guitar and keyboards are beautiful, the vocals everything is very nicely done. The bass and drums are strong elements. Well doneI really liked it.
Id suggest giving a bit more space to the guitar and keyboards so they dont have to push forward in the mix. Maybe lower the vocals slightly and balance the strings.

I have a dedicated air button to bring the vox forward, but the vox were recorded loud i could take a few db off lol, it was my first go with it all, with tweaks I'll improve the levels but I created a loud artist, now i can't shed him lol, thanks your time its appreciated

thanks for stopping sounders the new gear has worked out great and i will continue to get better results with new tweaks to it, I'm a bit of a fly writer i get ideas i pen a vocal, i have probably 6 at the minute then i'll make a beat or better still a colleague makes something fire, which i much prefer, i will jump on it if it creates a stir and the vibe I have, well we joined to learn and share collaberating brings far more to your game, you also learn to compromise too and take on board other ideas people see that you don't.
paul is not dime I created a braggard rapper to be controversial, but everyone liked him, so it didn't go exactly to plan, the story behind this track is really a broke ass rapper making out he's makin from the industry when all his rivals are spending just to get a foot in the door, go ahead press the play key

Ok Paul! You've been to the music shop. See my wife wont allow me to go solo, she says she gotta keep an eye on me or else I might buy something EXTRAORDINARY! Congrats on the new studio toys.

Tell me, are you using your FL Keys on this track? I've Rocked with Shure since forever. I just brought my wife some Pre-Sonus headphones. If your monitors sound anything like her headphones, your mix-monitor game has been upped.

hi Mark, thanks for the comment its not me playing its vst an loops, i'm still playing with it to see what its capable of but its an amazing piece of kit i rarely use a mouse cos the midi does all that now too, its got all the transport buttons all linked to the daw so its seamless, but i will be producing my own music on it and sequencing the beats eventually. im in no rush, i have i good set up now, trying to find time is the issue as you will obviously know yourself.
yes Shure are a great brand and the SM58 is a classic mic, to be truthful Mark i do this as a hobby like most of us but like i say if your gonna do something like music do the best you can and if that means buying extra equipment to make it better than why not a few hundred pound investment as taken my finish to a higher standard its not exactly breaking the bank either lol. we love this shit.

the speakers are amazing 50W with 120dB dynamic range so loud yet crystal clear and the bass is fantastic the mids cut through and the top end is sharp and bright, so i assume the headsets deliver great sound too. Im about to buy AKG K92 studio headset for mixing and production they are highly rated, so as you can see I'm still committed to it and our community

Hey Paul! its unmistakably you, man. Your lyrics are always heartfelt. Nice melodic elements too. Its always a plus to have equipment that you really like. Pnnywze has an Arturia interface now but he used to have a focusrite scarlet, it got the job done. The new one is geared alot more toward the guitar work he's doing now. Anyway, nice return. We'd really like you to have a verse on one of our last songs for the new project, after that we're splitting for awhile. Itd almost be a crime if we didnt have you on a song, as well. Did you hear the one we did with Kay and Oli?

how are you bro, its nice to be back about give your kid a bump from me too, I'll catch up with him soon enough tho, i looked at the Arturia and the midi board keylab mk3 myself its good. i was going to purchase the Arturia keylab midi before i plunged for the FL Key 61 instead, it was a no brainer for me my daw is FL so its seamless integration and i got it at a great price too, similar to when a bought my Daw i was about to buy, but something came up and i went out bought it the following day but a 30% off sale had started so got the daw at 70% cost. used the same tactic buying the midi got that at 70% too what a bonus and saving that was roughly £160 cheaper.
I would also be honored to have a verse with the squad, we may never meet but we all bros.
i did hear yours with the vintage team it was great, although i wasn't about, i did pop in occasionally just for a listen a couple of times, it was to keep showing myself what i was missing lol

Great lyrics wonderfully performed by the man. New gear, I thought I heard a crispier voice, must be the new mic. I get jealous when I hear your song and read your lyrics; it seems so easy and the creativity just radiates from it, but I know that a lot of work went into it. I wish I had that talent, but unfortunately, as a non-native English speaker, I just have to count myself lucky with the talents I do have :).
Again, great track, thanks for that.

Hi Franz, you were the inspiration behind this track so to hear your honored is the icing on the cake for me, rhyme like a waterfall of words thats what you wrote on crazy, i take inspiration from words others say about me, its not the first time either, Manuela once wrote, you even sound great on my shitty i-pod
my next track had the lines

I know your all listening
I sound great
even on your shitty
listening equipment

I was actually watching Masterchef on TV while penning this track, so thats were one of the verses came from too, you have to be imaginative when writing lyrics to standout, and what better way to standout than shouting out your friends and colleagues, your all great artists, keep giving inspiration broski

Hi Paul,

There you are again, unmistakably you, and in truly impressive quality. It's clear how much you've improved your technical equipment. The sound is excellent, and your voice has become noticeably more stable and powerful with the new recording technique.
It's a great song, structurally as well. The only small detail I noticed is the somewhat abrupt volume jump between the intro and the instrumental entrance. Of course, there *should* be a clear contrast, since the intro is meant to be something special, but personally, the difference is a bit too extreme for me. I would increase the overall volume of the intro slightly, but still keep it below the main part. That's just my personal impression, though.
As I said, a great song, and it's lovely to see you again.
Warm regards and have a wonderful Sunday, Manuela

hi Manu thanks for the listen and feedback. the volume change you mention has been the biggest problem, i want the difference to be noticeable and i have already had it at 4 different levels, I changed it 3 times in the first 2 hrs after i uploaded lol, it was louder than it is now but after my mates had a listen they thought this level was good and noticeable so I went with it, one also told me it sounded a little tinny, i also thought i could here something i didn't like, after i worked it out, i put a high frequency exciter on the master, so i removed that and the tinny sound was gone. I may take another look at that transition you mention tho, smile.
the equipment is the big difference and I thank you for your help when i was deciding, the microphone is an excellent product. its good to be back too, sharing and helping the community, enjoy the end to your weekend, Paul

thanks Anthony, the new gear is a big plus as i have 120 dB dynamic range from the interface, the speakers are absolutely fantastic the sound is loud but crystal clear, the more a play with the gear the better the output will be, I appreciate your lovely comment as always

Description : Something i did when i was about 15, and when i still made beats. This particular track is actually the reason i decided to get into composing at all. I had a good run with the beats and hip-hop scene, but i always had a leaning more towards composing and this, i think, is the catalyst for that revelation. This beat is 9 years old, and gives you a sense of what it was like to be a young, passionate, musically driven teen. Thank you.

Description : It was this beautiful piano track by renji9 that gave me the reason to create this song. It contains a mix of elements that I like very much, hoping that you will like it too.
I worked in zenbeats, the DAW from Roland.
Re-uploaded with better 808 presence I hope.
