Description : hi guys, so the object here was to write an original Christmas track that has all the Christmas trimmings but also brings home a few stark reminders, things that you don't necessarily think about as you selfishly open your presents with your families, i would describe it as a modern day festive treat, it has nods to the old, and the true meaning of Christmas, this is so not what you'd expect from dime, lol, tbf Im gassed about it :)

Paul, I love this! Valvedriver may be a dark SOB, but the man behind the mask loves Christmas! (But that's our little secret!). I'm not religious at all, but I love the tradition, the festivities, the lights, and all the other goodies that it brings. Especially the cookies and candies kind of goodies!

i love this time of year, having 4 grandchildren makes it even better, im so looking forward to spending the day with my son and his family, had my daughter and her family 4 days ago, i too enjoy all the food and chocolate, the treats are everywhere, why not indulge, its Christmas, I'll also have a few whiskey's too, my favorite tipple, that'll be after wine with my dinner and a couple or 6 buds, who said it was just for the kids lol

The production on this is brilliant. Really does sound like it could easily be on the radio. The vocal gets a little lost in the mix, honestly. Perhaps some sidechaining would help it stand out a bit more. But otherwise, the track itself is of a very high standard.

thanks aboe, i agree when the music gets louder it gets a little lost, i very rarely use side-chain on vox, i tend to multi-layer and chop, then i keep the main vox centred and pan everything else, all on a separate channel so i can fx everything separately I am still trying to master this engineering game, im not bad but theres lots to learn & bags of improvement to be made lol, it was just a quickie one take and minimal production, but it turned out better than i thought, thanks for ALL the feedback its appreciated

thanks so much mate, Florida sun, that would feel so strange to me, Christmas we usually have snow, thats part of it, its done nothing but pissed down for a week on the UK its grey and miserable it certainly doesn't feel festive lol, this was really just a quick piece think it will probably be my last this year, got some good rap to bring in the New Year, have a wonderful festive period Bear and we'll catch up in 2026, Happy New Year

Merry Christmas Mark, thanks for the endearing comment, i think Rudolph was guiding my path, its Christmas a time for sharing but also thinking of others too,
having pre-sets that I've built is great for workflow and your own signature as i only need to tweak things on future tracks, i occasionally add a different plugin depending on what my end result is, I've learnt so much from my own perseverance and this incredible community, thanks again for your time and support bro

truly beautiful song, it is so sincere and love giving that fits perfectly with the spirit of these festive days. It is true, there are people that spend these days all alone and for some it is not only that. It is weakness and poverty that might happen in one's life and what you ask is not just good intentions, you ask for actions beyond the words. Not an easy task, but as a thought it is promising of a better tomorrow. Your music is excellent and the sound is really good.

Merry Christmas Anthony, i don't know whether i told you before my second name is Anthony named after my mom's brother, he is known as Tony, he was a football scout pro level Newcastle mad, he's now got dementia its so sad to see.

thanks Paul, i've always fancied doing a xmas track, i was happy with it tbf, i did want want my 5 year old grandson to say 'tell me a story grandad' at the begin, as the intro but my son said no chance pops he's 5, music's your thing lol, thats why its a pre-chorus opening :-)
i do agree with him if i stop to think about it tho, exposing him to social media what was i thinking. I've got 4 altogether 2 of each from my son and daughter

Hey paul, merry Christmas from the squadd! There was something quite Beatle-like about this song, it was very endearing and warm. Im sure itll have everyone here feeling the holiday spirit and that sense of camaraderie your music gave to us. Thank you for sharing this with us, Paul. thanks for the stop off Jared, Merry Christmas bruv, i think its a tester to write a Christmas track but i thought the lyrics i wrote were cool a modern take and wow, it was Beatle like, i feel honoured. my pops was a massive Beatles fan i grew up listening to them, i have always wanted to do a Crimbo piece, so that's that box ticked. its so far from what i normally do but i love the festivities too, i got 4 grandkids

thankyou Dan, its quite difficult to write something for Christmas without being cheesy or sounding like a remix of a classic, so I was really pleased with this, although i spoke of loneliness and war , i tried to keep it bright and delivered it positively,
