Description : hi guys, so the object here was to write an original Christmas track that has all the Christmas trimmings but also brings home a few stark reminders, things that you don't necessarily think about as you selfishly open your presents with your families, i would describe it as a modern day festive treat, it has nods to the old, and the true meaning of Christmas, this is so not what you'd expect from dime, lol, tbf Im gassed about it :)

Merry Christmas everybody, hope you enjoy

ValveDriver 24th Dec 2025 19:51 - 10 months ago

Paul, I love this! Valvedriver may be a dark SOB, but the man behind the mask loves Christmas! (But that's our little secret!). I'm not religious at all, but I love the tradition, the festivities, the lights, and all the other goodies that it brings. Especially the cookies and candies kind of goodies!
Thank you for helping keep the tradition alive, brother!
Merry Christmas!

dimestop replied 24th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

i love this time of year, having 4 grandchildren makes it even better, im so looking forward to spending the day with my son and his family, had my daughter and her family 4 days ago, i too enjoy all the food and chocolate, the treats are everywhere, why not indulge, its Christmas, I'll also have a few whiskey's too, my favorite tipple, that'll be after wine with my dinner and a couple or 6 buds, who said it was just for the kids lol

Micky 18th Dec 2025 19:17 - 10 months ago

Merry Christmas, Paul. I wish you a blessed holiday and lots of wonderful gifts, whether material or immaterial.

Cheers,
Micky

dimestop replied 18th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

Merrry Christmas Micky, im getting the FL keys 61 midi board for Christmas and a new mic but i'm unsure on the mic, maybe a Shure but i like the T Bone too, thanks for the check out

aboemusic 18th Dec 2025 11:36 - 10 months ago

The production on this is brilliant. Really does sound like it could easily be on the radio. The vocal gets a little lost in the mix, honestly. Perhaps some sidechaining would help it stand out a bit more. But otherwise, the track itself is of a very high standard.

Merry Christmas to you too.

Thanks for sharing!

dimestop replied 18th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

thanks aboe, i agree when the music gets louder it gets a little lost, i very rarely use side-chain on vox, i tend to multi-layer and chop, then i keep the main vox centred and pan everything else, all on a separate channel so i can fx everything separately I am still trying to master this engineering game, im not bad but theres lots to learn & bags of improvement to be made lol, it was just a quickie one take and minimal production, but it turned out better than i thought, thanks for ALL the feedback its appreciated

ShortBusMusic 18th Dec 2025 10:42 - 10 months ago

Paul, what a terrific track. Nice Christmas vibe, with a little Caribbean feel, makes it almost like you created it down here in sunny Florida. If this is your last track of 2025, then you certainly went out with a bang. Thanks for posting and sharing this one with all of us. Merry Christmas brother.

dimestop replied 18th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

thanks so much mate, Florida sun, that would feel so strange to me, Christmas we usually have snow, thats part of it, its done nothing but pissed down for a week on the UK its grey and miserable it certainly doesn't feel festive lol, this was really just a quick piece think it will probably be my last this year, got some good rap to bring in the New Year, have a wonderful festive period Bear and we'll catch up in 2026, Happy New Year

dimestop replied 14th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

Merry Christmas Robin, thanks for the listen mate, a little different from me Xmas spirit and a time for reflection with a message of peace, Im sick of wars and seeing people suffer, the main news is always war somewhere tbf it feels like its been that way forever an we are supposed to be civilised

glennwhite6504 13th Dec 2025 19:50 - 10 months ago

kingmt77 13th Dec 2025 16:00 - 10 months ago

Happy Holidays Paul! So yep as I'm getting hit with a bit of snow, your track with the acoustic guitar and the jingle bells has upped my holiday vibe. But the switchup with the reverse cymbals and effects like your signature stereo field. Nice nice touch. Did you have reindeer in the studio? Consider this listen enjoyed my friend.
Peace,
Mark

dimestop replied 13th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

Merry Christmas Mark, thanks for the endearing comment, i think Rudolph was guiding my path, its Christmas a time for sharing but also thinking of others too,
having pre-sets that I've built is great for workflow and your own signature as i only need to tweak things on future tracks, i occasionally add a different plugin depending on what my end result is, I've learnt so much from my own perseverance and this incredible community, thanks again for your time and support bro

JohnnieSmoke 13th Dec 2025 02:12 - 10 months ago

The drums sound pleasant, overall a pleasant listen. My track is still on page two... :( IDK why, whatever. I did update it though, to make a it a bit smoother.

dimestop replied 13th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

thanks for the check out bro, i enjoyed doing a Christmas track, i found your track and dropped a line too bro

Emmonia 13th Dec 2025 00:14 - 10 months ago

I love the Caribbean vibe to this! Very nice laid-back feel while still being upbeat enough to give you that "Christmas feeling" (For lack of better words) Well done!

dimestop replied 13th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

thankyou Emmonia, your description sits good with me laid back and upbeat enough to give Christmas feelings, i dont think i could have described it better, your a new face to our community welcome on board, enjoy yourself and let rip, show us what you got :)

AnthonyAttard 12th Dec 2025 19:09 - 10 months ago

Merry Christmas Paul
truly beautiful song, it is so sincere and love giving that fits perfectly with the spirit of these festive days. It is true, there are people that spend these days all alone and for some it is not only that. It is weakness and poverty that might happen in one's life and what you ask is not just good intentions, you ask for actions beyond the words. Not an easy task, but as a thought it is promising of a better tomorrow. Your music is excellent and the sound is really good.
Best wishes my friend.
Anthony

dimestop replied 12th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

Merry Christmas Anthony, i don't know whether i told you before my second name is Anthony named after my mom's brother, he is known as Tony, he was a football scout pro level Newcastle mad, he's now got dementia its so sad to see.

glad you liked this piece, it was delivered with good intentions, Christmas is a time to be happy with family. greed and power as taken over, everything 24/7 life's fast and hectic and you got to keep up,
you can really only wish for a better world, i might not have it bad but there are lots out there who really struggle, this time of year everyone should come together. thanks for the support bruv

BaoBou 12th Dec 2025 18:55 - 10 months ago

Great job Paul, that was fun!

dimestop replied 12th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

cheers bro, i had fun on this, have a great Christmas mate

paulcreaney 12th Dec 2025 06:59 - 10 months ago

hey man this is pretty sweet! very cheerful track bro nice job

dimestop replied 12th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

thanks Paul, i've always fancied doing a xmas track, i was happy with it tbf, i did want want my 5 year old grandson to say 'tell me a story grandad' at the begin, as the intro but my son said no chance pops he's 5, music's your thing lol, thats why its a pre-chorus opening :-)
i do agree with him if i stop to think about it tho, exposing him to social media what was i thinking. I've got 4 altogether 2 of each from my son and daughter

Kayos2 11th Dec 2025 11:40 - 10 months ago

LOVE the lyrics on this and guitars sound reggae-ish, which I love. Sentiments come through v strongly

dimestop replied 11th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

thanks Kay, a modern twist for the world we live in, i really thought hard on the lyrics, i appreciate your comment especially about the sentiments. i wanted Christmas but also wanted people to reflect too, Merry Christmas to you and your family

TheMonzderSquadd 10th Dec 2025 23:46 - 10 months ago

Hey paul, merry Christmas from the squadd! There was something quite Beatle-like about this song, it was very endearing and warm. Im sure itll have everyone here feeling the holiday spirit and that sense of camaraderie your music gave to us. Thank you for sharing this with us, Paul. I kno alot of the time we try as hard as we can to have a sense of darkness and foreboding around our musical persona, thats the nature of our group. But we have hearts as big as they come, and we love the holidays, too!

dimestop replied 11th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

thanks for the stop off Jared, Merry Christmas bruv, i think its a tester to write a Christmas track but i thought the lyrics i wrote were cool a modern take and wow, it was Beatle like, i feel honoured. my pops was a massive Beatles fan i grew up listening to them, i have always wanted to do a Crimbo piece, so that's that box ticked. its so far from what i normally do but i love the festivities too, i got 4 grandkids

DanMed 10th Dec 2025 21:04 - 10 months ago

Super cool song bro. I like that beat a lot.
Lyrics are really nice and i like panning in there.
Cheers!

dimestop replied 10th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

thankyou Dan, its quite difficult to write something for Christmas without being cheesy or sounding like a remix of a classic, so I was really pleased with this, although i spoke of loneliness and war , i tried to keep it bright and delivered it positively,
its my Merry Christmas to the community, I hope everyone has a great festive period, this is the real Paul,
dimestop is the character i created some people need to realise that he is NOT Paul

TrippleN97 10th Dec 2025 20:19 - 10 months ago

There's something about this I V VI IV progression that always hits the spot. I love the emotions in the music and the Christmas vibes from the jingling bells.

Merry Christmas to you sir

dimestop replied 10th Dec 2025 - 10 months ago

thanks bro, sleigh bells always say Christmas, this is so far away from what i normally do but i had fun, I have 4 grandchildren, its always a great time and its a magical time for them, thanks for the nice comment
