I don't know how I missed this one. Great track! WOW. Piano playing is fire, for sure. Love the doubling synth. What synth is that? (Around 50 sec mark) Loved it. Thanks for all the work you put into this. UE
UE! It's great hearing from you. Thanks for the stop and the virtual pat on the back. The synths in the section you mentioned goes as follows:
Roland Zenology Attack Brass.
Fab Filter Twin 3 Vintage Brass Ensemble.
Kontakt 7 The Saxophone. Peace.
I had to take another listen to this re-edit & it's AMAZINGGG!!! Those piano keys are just a treat! to listen to, my ears are happy. Everything sounds mighty fine! & is sitting in it's rightful place as usual, one thing I like is hearing a sweet jam like this because I know it's all quality. The modifications made are real NICE!...The first time I heard it, it was awesome! & now even more so AMAZINGGG!!! BUT let's just talk about the drums for a sec, seriously now, off the freaking hook drum-work, yes sir you went to town and back with the re-editing you wasn't messing around. TOP! Work my friend, you have got this locked & loaded. Bravo!!!
Greetings Angelus. Thanks as always for the stop through and gracing the place with your presence. I really admire the attention you pay to the fine details. The backstory for the re-edit came from going through some new instruments, that all I can say is WOW. So I picked this one to improve upon. Drums? I just had to do that around the world roll with that Rhodes lick @1:57! This one was and still is liberating for me. Anyway, the feedback, reaction, and complements are received humbly. Thanks for taking out time to listen one more time. Quality? That's my motivation. I've got a bit to go, so we'll keep chopping away. Be and stay safe, my friend. Till the next round.
Mark. Everything here is so indescribably in flux that I cannot sit still. All the instruments are superbly played, but what excites me the most are these incredible drums. If I were a drummer it would definitely frustrate me...LOL. Big compliment, the trip was really fun! Peace, Micky
Micky. Greetings. Thank you for checking out yet another one of my tracks. I decided after updating and upgrading my VST collection, I should refine this one. And that because of that groove. You might want to check the update out. I'm still debating over the B3. I'm happy you really enjoyed what you heard to the degree you couldn't sit still, LOL. See, that's what's up.......! Moving and grooooooooovin! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and kind comments. We'll keep the big fun in the music, for sure. Peace.
Great keys work and note/chord selection and composition throughout. Wasn't digging the MIDI choice after the piano, kind a generic orchestra sound, doesn't match the sound quality of the other instrument choices, which are excellent (I would put a pipe organ there instead).
Loving that sax sound and the later flute. Piano in beginning and end is dry as hell but I assume you were gonna get that tweaked later.
Had to listen twice to even comment; had to fav as well, great work.
bringer! Thanks for the stop, listen, and fave. I absolutely treasure your expertise on sound! I’m working with some new VST and sending them through the paces. I agree totally about the dry piano and that one section synth horns part. That sax and flute I played on keyboard. I’m not sure about the pipe organ, but I need to get everything just right. Check the next update. Peace.
Hello Mark. All I can say is the sound is brilliant. Excellent work. I think you've still worked a lot on the finer points. The mix is perfect. Each instrument is clearly audible but not intrusive. The solos are well coordinated and driven and introduced by an excellent drummer. Compared to one of your previous versions, the piano is very well integrated in terms of timbre and volume. But highlighting one instrument here would not do justice to the value of the other instruments. Well done, very crisp, great atmosphere that the song spreads. enjoyed it Greetings Manuela
Manuela! Hey.... I treasure this stop and you taking out time for another listen. My aim is to set my productions out right which after LM they head over to the local radio station for Friday night jazz and SoundCloud. What you bring in your observations is exactly what look for. That helps me to stay on task. Gratitude for your assistance and huge compliments:)! Be safe.
To say that this track is in the pocket would be a gross understatement. The drum work is outstanding. The piano intro is very smart, and when the track kicks in, it kicks in with a bang (pardon the pun). The interplay between the piano and the percussion is, well, masterful. Than those sweet horns delicately at play in the background. I hear how thought out this piece is, even though it has an off the cuff live jam vibe; which is astounding when you consider that you have crafted this masterpiece from Loops. I cut my teeth singing at open jams here in Chicago. I travailed the circuit for an entire summer. It was tough going as jazz musicians here are very skeptical of singers (some open jazz jams outright ban singers!), but once you've gained their respect (if you ever do, and I did ) the battle is half won. This piece takes me back to that time which I thoroughly enjoyed, learned a lot and I miss very much. I believe this is the best you've EVER done here on Looperman. Well done, Sir!!!!
Mykael. Thanks for checking this one out and leaving a kind and detailed review. I'm big time happy you thoroughly enjoyed what you heard. I didn't know you are from the CHI! Not only that, but I lived in the Chicago area many years, and now I'm two hours away. Maybe one day we can connect. Anyway, you be safe.
Halo Mark, a lot has already been said here. Actually everything, from the brilliance you display in your keyboard games to the somewhat too predominant dominance of the keyboard instruments. I can only agree with what has been said. Greetings Manuela
Love it. The piano is brilliant but takes too much predominance in the mix. About 4.56 with the Rhodes is the level it should be at. At that point I'm in with the vibe!
Rapresent2. Greetings. Thanks for stopping by. Your feedback is on point. I'm going to remedy the piano with a different one that will set better in the mix. Yep, I'll probably go with a Yamaha C7 on the next round. Be safe.
LOCKED AND LOADED, BRO here we go. I was done after the first 3 min. or so. The drum track is on the money money good to me. Classic fusion at its finest. I appreciate an artist giving suggestions to enhance my production, but as I'm composing I try to write as if I were the listener because the highest percentage of listeners will be the non professional. I can't do the formula baste method of writing. In music you have to have human element of sound. When you're spiritually connected to an instrument, What sounds out of place is not out of place. No other genre of music can express this better than Fusion which you are a master of. Thank you Mark, for delivering another, it is what you say it is track. PEACE. T576 OUT.
T576. Your visit, weigh-in, fave, and convo. All the points you mentioned.... I agree. Especially your point on the listener's perspective. We attempt to make every note count. And now that the technology has finally caught up with us, there's absolutely NO EXCUSE not to get better and better. And that freedom tho...... I gotta have it! Thanks brother. We'll chop it up soon. Be safe.
Mark!!! thank you for your wonderful! support on my work/songs & you are absolutely welcome indeed if I can help I certainly will I'm all about the music & your music just does it for me.
You know Iv always got your back my friend, Again WOWSERS! this track ticks all the box' and then some!...CLASSY! :)
Ah YESIRRR!!! Pièce de résistance, OUTSTANDINGGGG!!!! Mark, seriously, I am floored, listen to this NOW! & it was off the charts to begin with & now Finessed! & even more delicious!
Amazing as usual. You're the master on the keys, and this track also has a great structure and direction. Love how you came back to the same loop with a little extra as a clear end. Perfect.
The one thing I wondered, is that in that opening loop (which returns throughout the track) the little frill up and down at 2:03 threw me off a little bit; it felt to me like it was just out of time, like it was a 16th or 8th too early for my brain. I assume it was intentional and it's just my tiny brain that needs to adjust - by the time we got to the end I was ok with it. But maybe still, see if it was how you intended it.
But that's just the final 0.1%, and you're already on at least 150%. Amazing track, and one of your best I think. Good job man!
Hey buddy! You are correct! Angelus caught my off timing too. I went back and straightened it out. Check it out now. Your compliments are extremely encouraging. Thanks for stopping by BaoBou. Be safe.
This is another gem of a jazz track indeed. The intro is super duper NICE!!! then a quick burst into a zealous! fire-starter delicious! jazzy funky ensemble and I'm loving everything that I'm hearing, those drums are solid! & at the 1:50 point just OUTSTANDING! only thing I'd say is maybe shorten the length of time of that amazing! drum roll to allow that transition to ease in at around 1:59, though it flows in seamlessly already, the drums threw me a little at that point, it's just a personal taste. I think I kept going back to this point several times, so yes my friend it's just a personal choice. Everything on the track is pure heaven! it's just my ears picking up too much of drums at around the 1:50 point, nothing major just two sharp ears :) You truly are the JAZZMASTER! ~HANDS DOWN~ & you already know just how much respect! I have for you and your work! Bravo! my friend and have a most wonderful! weekend. Catch on the Next one. Stay Safe.
Angelus!!!!!! Those ears are bona fide quality control. I just updated. Check it now. Thanks for visiting, the fave and expert support is heart-warming. I'm glad you really like this one, as your latest track"ESCAPE" is next level. Thanks for sharing your talent. have a great weekend, my friend.
great intro, and then that killer jazz drum entry was fly MT love that delay on the keys, great instrumentation as always, great drop for the outro, nice job bro, great production and sound quality.
Paul. Gratitude for the stop through and the comments on what jumped out at you. Your encouraging compliments are always a big plus. have a great weekend. Peace.
another great composition .... on which I will not give advice .... others on LM are much more qualified than me in this field !!! great great job Mark!

Description : Updated 1/7/2023. This is a progressive fusion flavored jazz number. I called on fellow Looperman DISCIPLINE to season this composition with that FIRE GUITAR, and he did! Let me know your thoughts on this one. Enjoy.
Description : Now on youtube: youtu.be/0RYfA4iCsSA, soon out on my upcoming album "Step by Step"!
==============
Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.
Description : This track is built around the repetitive lead guitar line which I have previously incorporated as an intro for the rocker track "Sweetheart Runner" by LM user TinyFinger whom I have helped in arranging, mixing and producing his song. This extended session was a good oportunity to test some new equipment....Thanks to Tiny for not being mad about it...:)^^
Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.
After a quite turbulent long travel we’ve reached a totally unknown planet which is mostly covered with clouds. As we pass over it we can see parts of rivers through the clouds that come out of the dark rocky surface in some places. So the whole scene is alternating textures of white, dark gray and silver flashes. Unfortunately there’s no chance to land anywhere so we just pass, wonder and travel on …
Description : A spoopy song, early for Halloween. This was a collaboration with Micky, who did most of the work.

Music: Micky
Genre: We don't know yet. Suggestions welcome. LOL
Description : the rise of AI
this i would describe as hip-hop space rock, last night of the proms sort :))
its different, a fusion of genres, this is all played by me, no loops. got a little more music theory now, so put it to the test.
its my first attempt at writing something myself and hopefully show i can produce a bit too. i wanted all the instruments to have their place but to shine alone, let me know if you think i achieved my description.
Description : Return To Forever was a group that started my love of fusion jazz and this is my attempt to cover their 1976 track, “The Romantic Warrior. I know I wore out several inceptions of this album from LP, cassette and 8 track. The original track was over 10 minutes long, so I abridged it some. Hope you like and download.
Description : A moroccan traditional song from 70s titled "Toudart" which means "Life" in Moroccan berber/Tamazight, revived and composed in a modern way, I used minor2go's piano loop which you can hear on the background, everything elese is from me.
Description : Found some 70's funk drum loops that I liked and added some funk horn loops. Then I found some effects and percussion loops that worked well with the bass loops I found. Yeah, all loops but 1 vocal track of mine. :) Funk/fusion? Might be cool to have some hip hop styled vox on this, any takers?
