hey Mark! love that phloozey bass, man, this is a real serenader of a track! the horns really jump, that 1st trombone grabbed my collar and dragged me in. playing and arrangement is pristine, but inna slouchy kinda fashion — what i massive kick!
xstokes, greetings. Thanks for the listen and fave. There’s nothing like those bone’s front and center. The kick has the lower hz to wrestle with the bass, so I favored the kick by setting a compressor on the bass and controlled it with the kick. You have that awesome weekend you deserve and be safe.
Cru, I appreciate you checking in and giving this one another listen. The feedback and fave is big. Thank you kindly for your continual support. Be safe my friend.
Hi Mark.
I love the deep sounds in this one.
The part from 0:16 sounds cool and i love the trumpet in it.
You outdo yourself again and again.
You are rightfully the JAZZKING of LM
Rita, you’re mixing up a storm and you stopping by and critiquing my track speaks volumes. Thanks for the huge compliment and sharing your thoughts on how I did here. Keep smiling Rita and be safe.
Robbie! What’s good with you? I appreciate you checking in. Thanks for sharing how this one came across. Your compliments are received humbly. Be safe.
pseudoble, greetings. It’s good you stopped by. I tried to mix the bass like it was wall to wall. Vocals? Not a bad idea. I appreciate your feedback and this listen was a excellent one. Be safe and have an awesome week.
randomuser13 gratitude for the stop, listen, complement, and fave. And you’re absolutely correct, that funk club was the place to be back in the day. Be Safe.
Good evening your "Funky-ness".
I was waiting for you to go full blown "Stanley" after that excellent Bass intro.
Of course you want one better and brought in a whole Funk Mob.
This is pretty much the first chance I've had the energy to even treat myself to some LM. I've been working three jobs for the last 3 weeks more or less.
I knew I would find you on here "Funking it up" total ear candy.
Great Track. Faved..
PEACE from the EAST...
Rob! Ok so in my Jamaican accent……….. you laaayzaaay bum! Only 3 jobs? You not even working until you got 21 jobs! That’s right 21 job you laaayzaaybum! LOL Thanks for taking time out for a listen, kind, generous comments and the fave. Funk is the flavor and it’s good this put you back on your square. I’ll be hitting you up so we can touch base. TTYL.
I don't know what I'd add to be honest, but I will say the production is so crisp to my ears (how do you do that!?). Smooth but oh so very funky. I like how it comes back to that opening melody and bass line to close.
zootman I’m grateful for your stop and listen. Yep I’m not sure what I can do here but amp up the congas and add another something percussion wise. I appreciate you letting me know how this came across. Have a great weekend and be safe.
You are the jazzmaster of LM, there Ain't no one who jazzy things up like you can. I'm loving the percussion section simply delicious! and of course the sexy saxophone runs the show (My Favorite) made my day. Your work is always on fleek, Very uplifting jazzy ensemble, really nice to hear some bongo drums in the mix. I enjoyed everything I heard here. Continue the greatness! Kudos!
Hey there Angelus! Your stop is always heartwarming. Thanks for the feedback. I’m glad this one didn’t disappoint. I had to punch my way through it. You know…….. I needed to say everything in about 4 minutes because instrumental’s running solos can get old fast! Anyway now for you……”Cherry Lipgloss”? That’s some serious harmonies you dropped. Thanks for sharing your talent. Be safe and stay blessed always.
Michael, I’m definitely honored for your stop, listen, and feedback. I’ve been working on a mastering formula. According to your comments I think I’m about there. Have that awesome weekend and stay safe.
Ah thechockehold. That master buss! Thanks for running the track thru your LFU. I’ll make the necessary adjustments on the next round. On my master I set a Flatline limiter @ -6db and fabfilter Pro Q3 at a high shelf @ about 8200 hz dynamic and mid side, I need more experience you know. Anyway I appreciate your time and as always your work is par excellence! Be safe.
hey Mark ive done a lot of listening of late, trying to get the new stuff sorted and files transfered etc, today ive checked loads with some beauties its 12.30 am here in the uk and im still listening and commenting, this is another class piece from you, like Steven says some frequency percs woodblocks, harpers ticks, chimes a triangle the right tambourine would be good, or an alternative hat with a cabasa on the off stroke, i thought the bongos were ok but would never say dont raise them i love a bongo tbf like i love a uke, wtf, me giving you advice, your our king of jazz brass and funk :)))) take no fucking notice of me :))
Late night with Paul! Thanks for the stop my friend. Your time and feedback is greatly appreciated. Your suggestions I’ll keep in mind on the percussion in that section for the next round. Have a chill weekend.
Ok So, I loved it, I love that slight chorus effect on the bass (So eighties). And the song moves along nicely, for some reason I got Spyrogyra vibes. If I were to add anything, maybe higher frequency percussion like a wood block and definitely chimes. I could hear the bongos but maybe either bring up more in the mix or space them out in the mix. otherwise loved it, you are our Jazz genius here.
Cru, Spryogyra, yep back in the day. Amazing how music sticks with us. The chorus effect on the bass I added to enhance the stereo effect. Agreed the section with the percussion I’ll amp and spread on the next round. I kinda erred on the side of caution because there’s just a little room to work with the sax, guitars and clavinet sharing space. For your generous feedback, time, and great points I’m grateful. Have an awesome weekend Cru.

Description : Every instrument is performed and recorder live. Piano, double bass, drums.
Instruments Used:
-"WELTMEISTER" upright piano (MADE IN GERMANY in 1938)
-"KAY" upright bass (MADE IN GERMANY somwhere in 1950th)
-TAMA Imperial Star + Pearl OMAR HAKIM snare + Various Ziljian cymbals.
I just put together some old ideas to see if it will work. Some vocals and brass, or guitars is clearly needed. Let me know what you think about it. Tnx
Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...
Description : This is track me and my friend (great jazz, blues musician) done
around this great vocal we acquired.
Lot of hours in it.
I had great fun making it!
Hope you people like it.
Love and peace.
Description : I think it's a late evening song to accompany you for a single drink.
Jazzy in most of the aspects. It is made single handedly so please consider it an experimentation for the thrill of making music.
Hope you will like it.
Description : This track made me just stop working on it and listen to it for enjoyment.
Smooth Mellow funky Jazz. Uses: 0111003-djrumplestiltskin-swung-funk-drum-beat, 0087009-mrroads442-guitar-line, 0072485-michiel555-mellow-funk, 0058934-ferryterry-90-bpm-soprano-sax. Is this Funk or Jazz?
Description : This track contains only free loops from Stayonbeat.com and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D
I dont think this one needs a vocal, but ofcourse you can use it if you want, and as always, just write and i will give any support as i can. Any feedback welcomed too as always. Enjoy! UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!

Description : Something a bit different from us. I (Bobo) played guitar, synth, midi bass and percs to this piano loop by LM's most excellent Rasputin. Wataya, stoned as usual, thought he heard Barbara Streisand singing. This is the result.
Description : I created a hip hop groove in Logic and decided to duel some Saxophones. I am playing the Baritone sax on the left pan and the Tenor Sax on the right pan.
I added some bells like a boxing match bell to give it a fight drama feel. The hip hop track itself is dope to me. The duel is cool too. Who won?
