Description : I intentionally made this song minimalistic. The drums I spliced together from some drum loops I had, there's one other loop in the mix, the rest of the instruments are played by me (bass and synths). I used the excellent (and free) Cakewalk z3ta+ vst and the BBC Symphony vst. My intention was to create a very simple and dream like ambient track. Feel free to download or comment. The only advice I can give is based on my personal experience. But what I did was built a custom instrument rack for the Ableton piano and attach a few stock plugins to it. Then I just set that to favorites, so I'd always use my pre-set.
I'd EQ 8 and boost a high shelf, (Not too subtly either, 2 or 3 db) a little light compression, saturator with drive boosted a bit, then reverb/delay. Just the reverb on its own will make a huge difference, piano really benefits from a sense of space.
