Description : My most experimental piece yet. And shamelessly self-indulgent. Be warned lol

Built around a simple little pattern I devised when teaching myself to think in 7/8, years and years ago. Bonus points if you can spot the 7:4 polyrhythm that appears in a few places.

This feels very dramatic, almost a cinematic soundtrack. It is telling a story. Great job!

Thanks, so glad you think so. It's telling a story I don't really have words for.

This is nice, strong piano track. Did you by chance use any of the piano plugins from Ableton or from in the Packs? I haven't been able to get a solid piano sound from within Ableton. Just wondering what you used.

    Thanks!

Hey Wayne, so glad you enjoyed. No I didn't use any of the packs for the piano on this one. I used Pianoteq Studio. But I did use Ableton's grand piano hybrid pack for quite a while.

The only advice I can give is based on my personal experience. But what I did was built a custom instrument rack for the Ableton piano and attach a few stock plugins to it. Then I just set that to favorites, so I'd always use my pre-set.

I'd EQ 8 and boost a high shelf, (Not too subtly either, 2 or 3 db) a little light compression, saturator with drive boosted a bit, then reverb/delay. Just the reverb on its own will make a huge difference, piano really benefits from a sense of space.

    Hope that helps!

This is masterful to say the least. The piano sounds majestic. Also you mentioned 7/8 time signature. With that musically youre in my town at my address with this! I thoroughly enjoyed this. Stunning.

hello killick! damn, this is an impressive piece! the pulses are great, the pattern works out wonderfully, and your choices of instruments and loudness make this surprising and very cool. here and there esp with the piano and melodica i imagined a meeting between matt johnson and steve reich, and by the end even an appearance by simon jeffes. excellent track!

Description : This is for my friend Danke who can't sleep at night. Yes, heat, heat...I guess Africa is hotter, but don't let the title and intro as well, deceive you! This is not African music nor the imitation of it. It's just a picture of starry African sky at night, painted with my european musical sensibilities and some imagination. So this is for Danke in the first place and then maybe for anyone who would like to fall asleep.:)...
Good night!:)

Description : Dear Loopers...Let Ed and me take you to the world of yet another musical fantasy born out of our latest collab efforts. Ed provided basic structure of the track with ever solid rhythm section, tasty synths and vocal pads while I took
on a role of pretending to be multi-instrumentalist again by smuggling in some sweet strings, bulgarian flute, celtic harp,
unexpectedly blurry piano and this time a tiny bit of real live acoustic guitar...what an adventure for a vst/keyboard guy..:) As always
my sincere thanks to Ed not only for letting me enjoy his great musical company but also for still standing as one of the firm pillars of Looperman society !

Description : I went to the beach and set up my stereo recording mic under a gazebo near it (I apologize for some of the air gusts being recorded haha; we had a strong SE wind that day :P Tried my best to place it out of the wind); wanted to record myself playing live and do some cheesy roleplay in the process - wanted to make it feel like the listener was sitting there beside me. ** This is what the beach looks like: http://static.travel.usnews.com/images/destinations/80/south_padre_island_main.jpg **

Lo and behold, I'm about halfway through the song when my buddy Mark, a friend from college, heard me singing and decided to join me (he seems to never part with his guitar lol).

The expression on his face was that of confusion as to why I had my mic with me and a audio-capturing device, which I plugged into an outdoor electrical plug that the gazebo owners installed lol (I've done recordings like this before but didn't like the results; we messed up a little at the end but I was like meh it's not bad anyways.) but I'm glad he didn't say it out loud or it would have ruined the recording lol. Luckily, I was playing a song he and I wrote together some time ago, so he was able to just jump right in. He's a great guitar player.

Even though it was a little awkward at the end since we hadn't seen each other for like 4 months (you might be able to tell by the way I responded to his "thats so cool" comment haha), I think it turned out just fine. It was a lovely evening and the clouds were all poofy and happy. Lots of people were there too, though I made sure to sit far away from all of them. Ahh, it was a beautiful day. I'm glad I live by the ocean :P * Just kidding, I recorded this in my studio; though I do live close to the water, this was not recorded there :P I did everything, down to the wind blowing into the mic, except for the sound of water and the kids in the background. I got those sounds here: freesfx.co.uk/login/

The guitars and vocals were one-takes to give a more realistic feel. No pitch-correction or autotune. Just wanted to try making another soundscape (or whatever you want to call this :P) about what it's like to live by the ocean.

Description : the other end of the scale from me, yep people, this is a ballad. its for all the people who have lost somebody long before their time was due,
i used my experience of tragic loss and how i hid my mental health issues that stemmed from it while writing it, its repetitive but has fresh verses
its to Matthias music Du Bist Nicht Mehr Hier almost the same title, He has suffered too that's why he wrote the music and dedicated it to his brother. i hope i have done it justice

Description : Glen Cloy is one of the glens of Antrim (Tumbleweed's county) in Northern Ireland. The little people, actualy fairies, populate all of them and they all have very old ghost stories that have been told for centuries (and still are)...This one is about Shaman of old and his journeys through the spiritual world...That sums up what Ed told me about the concept for our 7th (how convenient^^) collab work. The main core of the track is Ed's work and the original length was 5:18, but I wouldn't have been Orlando if I didn't tempt to compose my longest intro to date (3:10) to inject my own fantasies about little creatures of Glen Cloy (soft spot for spiritual world..hehe..). Other than that I also added some synths arrangements and vocal samples for the rest of the track and probably ruined it a bit..haha..but that's how collabs are sometimes..:)^^.....All my thanks to Ed...and Irish ghosts ofcourse...
