Thanks for checking out my playlist Mykael...I used to leave up enough to mostly fill the 1st page before I started deleting stuff that was just taking up space, but started finding my tunes posted in other places (ITunes etc)& got a bit tired of having to fart around having them taken down etc....so lately I just keep a few posted. I used to have a small catalog with Pump Audio (Gettys)& did the usual rights registration & BMI listing but that was getting to be a bit much like work & you really need a wide variety of at least 1000 tracks to make it worthwhile.....anyway...my thanks...Keep doing your thing...you are good at it & if you ever need a backing mix or 2 to put in a rainy day folder give me a shout...have a couple of R&B mixes that didn`t like my boring guitar all the way through.....Ed
Forgivie me, Ed....I'm a horrible social media person. I'm just getting around to answering Looperman messages. I have lost both siblings (there were only three of us) in the span of 17 months, then Covid....it's not been a good year so far, but I am counting my blessings! We have decided to put out singles and then group them into an album with some extras thrown in, since we live in a singles driven era, it kind of makes sense. So feel free to send me whatever you think you'd like me to hear. Stay Safe & Creative! --Mykael
Oh Yeah....this is just so good...its a song that for some reason has stuck in my head for a long time (I still have a live version on my music player)..Your version is a bit different in the best of ways...has that rich full backing but also the bit of country vibe you added...you have great vocal character Mykael...its a superb performance man...really did enjoy it and now I`m looking for that little heart button....you are a big taleny....Ed
As always, my friend, it is very good to get feedback from you. Thanks so much for stopping by and listening. I'm happy to know you enjoyed the track. I am very proud of how it turned out. You have this vision in your head of how you want it to be, but then magic sometimes happens and the project turns out far better than you ever imagined!
I stopped by your page, but there is only one tune there. What happened to your Looperman catalog?
Hi Mykael, wow what a big production! This is real quality from start to finish and your vocals really compliment the track. So glad to see you're still hard at work recording, keep up the good work my friend, best regards Paul.
Great all around! As everyone else has said, the instrumentation is really great, brings out a different side of the song which I think is really cool! Nice work all around!
Wow Mykael. I am blown away with this cover. just perfect. Your vox is sublime. I really Miss David now he's gone. So anyone who keeps that torch alive makes my day every time.
best wishes and great job
Steve
Steve! Thanks so much! Your thoughts about my music are always appreciated. It was great fun to do this recording, and I am happy it is being received so well!
WoW! This cover is beautiful!!! I like the analog color given (correct me if I'm wrong) to the drums and bass.... they have a very warm and fuzzy feeling!! The vocals are spot on... they fit perfectly within the mix very clear and well articulated!
I haven't replied to your comment on my demo feedback but I have a question... I also want to be a songwriter but you see... singing is not my thing... I can spend hours creating musical ideas and compositions but vocals and lyrics stand in my way as an obstacle rather than a task to complete. In your books, can there be a songwriter who does not write lyrics, but just musical compositions to sell/publish?
Hiya DJValdez! First, thank you for listening to the track. I'm happy to know you enjoyed it. I really appreciate it!
Second, yes music compositions can be sold and published without lyrics. However, I would strongly suggest you team up with a lyricist or a singer-songwriter for each of your compositions; or, you might want to forge a long-term partnership with one. You can work it in any manner that fits your creative approach. Of course, you'd have to share the copyrights, if it's not a "work for hire" situation.
I am always open to collaboration if I come across something that appeals to me.
very much like the tone of the instruments, specially the bass...very mournful but clear and fat...outstanding work on that...was someone played live that?
liked your vocs...very clear and I feel that your voice is educated, am I wrong?
Hiya Danke! I so greatly appreciate every time you check out my music and enjoy it! I loved loved loved working on this project. I am a HUGE fan of David Bowie, and I wanted to show my appreciation of his work by covering this song.
When I was nine years old I was recruited to be a member of the world-famous Chicago Children's Choir. It was during my time with the choir that I received vocal training. Other than that, it's just pure experience.
Great selection first of all, Bowie covers were always appreciated when my old band would play them. It's not exactly one of his more popular tracks as I wasn't too familiar with it so I searched online to do some investigating, interesting. Checked out Bowie's original too. Simplifying it to an acoustic rock(almost country) version is something I personally like to hear an artist do. I like your vocal interpretation, similar to the original and still shows some originality. Great lyrics and a cool track, he always had some cool chord changes in his tracks, it reminds me of his earlier material a lot.
Thanks for the kind words. I am very happy you enjoyed the track. I am a huge Bowie fan, so this was my way of honoring him. It was so sad to lose him.
It was my intention to make my version a mid-range ballad rather than peppy, as Mr. Bowie performed it. I was blessed to have had some great musicians working with me to create this arrangement and as well as in session.

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.
Description : Feel free to check out the lyrics video on YT as well :) This is a new track based on the great vocals by Ashes and Dreams! Again, a mix of electronic/progressive/rock, any feedback is welcome
Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.
Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).
Description : This track was like the inhale after an exhale of aggressive industrial-electro-sludge tracks that I had put out that summer and fall. This was the more reserved, and introspective winter track. It's nothing spectacular, but I still really enjoy it. I hope you do too. Take care. V.
