Description : Homemade 3 string fretless cigar box guitar, 5 string bass, addictive drums. Getting closer to that cbg album completion, 'Vastlands' :D mix may need tweaking, these headphones add bass. Try and stay dry in that cave, but be careful, you never know what lurks in the darkness behind!! Very pink floyd like,. Enjoy.

loving these mate, they're like some soundtrack to a delta murder mystery or something. i'm sure i can hear the great greasy Mississippi flowing on by like some great artery, even though i've never been to the states!

OOhh perfect finding dark themes even the happier stuff I do on occasion ;) I love how music can transport you anywhere and put you in a whole new state of mind. I've spent my whole life in the northeasten part of the states, never been to the Mississippi delta but these guitars sure have a way of transporting us there. I'll try and get more up to date stuff put up. I've been away from here for a while and not nearly as active as I was in the past. I do a ton on facebook groups related to the worldwide homemade instrument movement. I love how it's like the home recording revolution. Tonight I've been sitting here playing on a guitar made from a license plate a friend made me in a guitar swap.
Where I'm not a singer I got into using soundscapes created from sounds found around the web along with my own recordings to add that extra dimension, and do something a bit different than the usual.

This song is a great trip. First off, it's extremely well mixed with a great balance of instruments and effects. They all work together to provide this really chill vibe that works so well for this song. Excellent work.

I don't know of anymore free cbg albums, happened to find that one on my other desktop looking for something previously recorded. I think I like the swamp witch one the best of the two. It's got to be that electric guitar pick up or maybe just the mojo ;) I just got a number of magnetic pickups for builds, and wound my first with a magnet out of a hard drive, yet to try it though. Screw all the precision stuff, specific number of windings, resistance..., I just used the roll of wire and called it good. If it works, no reason it shouldn't, I saved a bunch of old junk hard drives to scavenge the magnets from and some hair clippers I can salvage the copper windings from. I love this one, thanks Ed :D

    Yo, 4Fat.

You're doing really well with the chillout slide compositions. I need to get back to doing some!

Nice, simple, lazy groove in this. Good drum sound. And, of course, all the additional location-based ambient stuff. A "wild" track, in terms of location sound recording. Very effective for mood and ambience and it totally meshes with your slide playing.

You could say that the track doesn't really go anywhere in particular but perhaps it doesn't need to. Or maybe that's a limitation. So perhaps it should either be a bit shorter or feature some more obvious changes.

    Congrats anyway...

Hey Phatkatz! I haven't been on Looperman but I happened to click on this one by you and wow! You've seriously improved since I was last active! It sounds great to my ears. The bass and drums actually have a nice, full low-end punch and I wouldn't change a thing in the music itself. You could possibly cut off a little bit of low-end of the thunder since it muddles the mix there but its not a big deal. This is honestly a great mix. And I actually mean that.

Hey Brado, I've been hanging a bit and noticed quite a few regulars haven't been on much. Life happens and sometime we all just need a break. This is by far my favorite music site! I came across this waves crashing on the beach recorded from inside a cave during a rainstorm soundscape so thought would be cool to write something for it. I'm trying to get together an album of all cbg music with nature theme, the last track was a swamp one. I have look at those thunder crashes, they were added in just because ;) The idea is hearing them from inside the cavern so I left them raw, as downloaded, but maybe some low end cuts would be helpful. I came across 2 original song competitions today so submitted this and a few others just for fun. I love the powerful bass on this. That's my 5 string Ibanez with active pickups. Drums are addictive drums, live on stage kit.The guitar is my electric 3 string cbg, the only one so far I put a magnetic pick up in. Must make more with mag. pickups!!!

Hey Byleth :D I think I found the entrance to your lair. The Aztecs believed a cave in South America was the entrance to the underworld. Archeologist found different rooms with animal bones and artifacts like described in their stories. Yeah, it's pretty wet and I forgot my soap! Lovecraft has a story about a gorilla type beast residing deep in the darkness of a cave, hope it doesn't smell me :O I'll be back to some darker music soon, having way too much fun with my homemade guitars right now. Thanks Master Byleth

Description : Of all the classic Monster tales the Wolfman is definitely one of the saddest. Cursed, and destined to live as both man and monster. During the day he sits alone with his guitar, a prisoner of lonely existence, crying his heart out through his music. It features everything being done by me, with improvised solos for each instrument. This was done using Fl Studio 12 and my Korg M50 keyboard. I plan on adding lyrics to it down the road and having everything much cleaner. Anyhow, enjoy!

Description : Cosmic Eastern chillout atmospheric shuffle blues with loads of bluesy/Eastern electric guitar playing and warm sub bass (the same synth patch I've used in about 20 tracks). No drum loops and just two programmed acoustic kits - probably the simplest drum setup I've ever used. One day I hope to make a track containing only one drum kit. Also: a few female vocal samples (including a heavily timestretched one), one section of bass guitar, a few sample-based string instruments, a few notes of organ and two synth pad instruments. So, quite a minimal instrument lineup for me. It goes uptempo around 4:31 into a grooving, stomping bit of shuffle blues and I wonder if I should have brought this section back at the end for a triumphant finale. But I'm trying hard these days not to make things too long and this is already a decent length. Also contains some darker, Eastern sections but nothing too dark. Have a listen and leave me some interesting feedback - the more detail, the better.
