Description : I have had this one sitting in a folder for over a year. Decided to clean it up and hopefully get some feedback. This is the only track I have done so far with real acoustic guitars. I recorded it through a microphone as it is not a Acoustic Electric. Also has Live bass and some synth added. Drums are Addictive.

Reminds me of "Tangled up in Blue" with the intro chords. Never a bad thing. I agree with the monster magnet reference. There is room for tambourine and shakers. Def vocals would light this up. Groovy piece man.

Hey, this is a jamming tune! I'm digging the groove and the potency of the guitar recording. Sounds great both in recording and post processing. Ahhh that ride bell that comes in for moment is killer, very nineties rock to my ears... wooo. I was just thinking that this reminds me of what Guns and Roses might have been if they had not been pigeon holed into hard rock and pop genres. I find their early stuff to have kind of a psychedelic, janis joplin, sort of vibe. Either way, it's meant as a compliment. Very cool stuff. Have you looked into piezo transducers for a non-permanent way to use a guitar as acoustic-electric? I've been experimenting more with them used as contact mics, and even with some of the beaten up vintage transducers the fidelity is pretty impressive. I'm thinking about making acoustic pickup and contact microphone kits at some point, since I have all the parts I need now. It would be a fun project, and I would love to encourage more fine acoustic performances to be recorded. Your tune was inspiring and fun to hear!

I looked up what piezo transducers are and I still don't fucking know. :) Way over my head but I appreciate the input. I also appreciate the listen.
I need to go Acoustic more often. It really does help with learning the mixing process and how to mic instruments. I pretty much only use VST's at this point. I don't remember the last time I didn't use guitar Rig for my effects. It is nice to deal with "clean tones" for a change.

Thanks again.

agree with MrDrizzou... this would really shine with some vocals.
nice distortion on the deep freqs... guitar work good as well.
some "jack white" influences in some parts?

anyhow... liked it a lot!
Ciao, Domenico

I concur. Vocals would fill the void for sure. I have tried doing lead guitar over this but it just never seems to fit right. I think vocals would. I do listen to a bit of Jack White. He is a very talented musician but a bit of an asshole. He has some weird gripe against the Black Keys. I can hear some Jack influences now that you say that. Thanks for listening and leaving some feedback. It is always appreciated.

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.

Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.

Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).

Description : This track was like the inhale after an exhale of aggressive industrial-electro-sludge tracks that I had put out that summer and fall. This was the more reserved, and introspective winter track. It's nothing spectacular, but I still really enjoy it. I hope you do too. Take care. V.
