Dark, groovy and funky, reminds me of something that should be in a movie soundtrack for an action movie like "Blade" or a good horror movie.
This kind of stuff is right up my alley...great job.
I'll be looking for more from you.
Peace

Yo.

This has a cool, dark, grooving vibe. You're really bringing the stoner and beats together. Probably in a way no one else is.

It sounds like there is something like a high violin in there (panned right). What's that? It really comes out at 1:13. Good breakdown there.

Good riffage and driving beats. I'll say more another time when I have more time but it's simple congratulations for now from me.

Loving it.
Reminds me of nothing it all!
I'd love to hear some lyrics on this.

Im not very familiar to the genre but with this track you made curious what more there is. Very nice track and great build up. You give a greta feeling with all. Some chill vibes with some serious guitar flavour. Very nice and well executed track!

Darknives replied 22nd Jul 2016 - 10 years ago

Trip hop can vary a lot. It's basically hiphop mixed with other genres, I just like to do stoner and psych a lot xd.

Definitely A Banger. Never Really Knew What Trip Hop Sounded Like, But This Is Probably A Perfect Example Of It. And It's Really Mind Stimulating, I Think The Term Is Psychedelic. Unlike Some Other Tracks I've Heard This One Has Excellent Mixing. Great Production! Check Out My Tracks When You Get The Chance And Leave Some Feedback. Keep It Up Man!

More trip-hop, yes please...

Guitars, dark & heavy, awesome drumming... You have a new fan..

I really liked the switch at 1:11, unorthodox yet fitting.

That brought me down from a music high in a good way.. Thanks dude, that was a good listen.

This is definitely something I would think of as trip hop! I love the psychedelic edge to the sound design, and there are many other flavors present which make it a pleasure to listen to! It has been good to see the spread of more sensible mixing and mastering techniques here on Looperman, and I think that this song is a great example of that. It is loud enough to hear everything, yet not so loud that I was forced to drop the volume in order to protect my ears. Very well balanced frequency spectrum. I enjoyed it thoroughly! Fave!

Darknives replied 21st Jul 2016 - 10 years ago

Thanks man, that's great to hear when there's so much reverb and delay going on. Also not mastered yet. Will be soon though.
Thank you

Description : For some odd reason, the titular acapella I used for this remix had vanished from Looperman. Luckily, I saved it before it disappeared.

Anyway, props to Stephanie Kay for this acapella! I've always wanted to remix Stars Collide, but I never got around to finally making a good instrumental for it. The acapella was akin to that of Genki Rockets' work (ESPECIALLY the lyrics), so I tried to retain the same vibe. Enjoy!

Description : This is a worship song celebrating God's beautiful creation, unfailing grace, and boundless love. It reflects on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the gift of salvation, and the light of God that shines even in the deepest darkness. It is a reminder to rise each day with gratitude and give praise to the One who saves, guides, and sustains us.
