Description : Peace in Europe...for how long? Ok... after the infamous Alien affairs this represents a return to my more or less standard soundworld. Coincidentaly I took this oportunity to pay a little tribute to Ultravox (do you remember them?) which is hidden somewhere within the song structure. When I was composing and playing at the same time suddenly something sounded similar to Ultravox (the mistery of coincidence or simply subconsciousness?), so I grabbed the devil .:) I think it's not really a typical Chill Out but more a crossover of handful of genres. Some of the gentler souls among you might even like it, or at least I hope our dear mate Silverman won't be "pissed" again.:)

Hey this is pretty relaxing and enjoyable! I like the composition, and the apparent simplicity of this. As for peace in europe, I don't pretend to know much about life there, but I do know that peace must start internally to each person... then can come respect... with respect, peace should follow naturally. This is not what I see happening. Oh well, I love the song! Sounds great! Fave!

it's a beautiful landscape. very dreamy. yes - in my limited understanding of the genres it is somewhere in the trance/chillout domain. that heartbeat drum and stick going throughout the track is very effective with respect to creating the hypnotic effect. beautiful work. nice to crank this mix up on my desk monitors. fav!

Would never think of trance, but maybe you're right...could be a bit in it...we are all listening to different genres, so sometimes something just fall together subconsciously.

Haha...I really appreciate your comment! I was just waiting for someone who would be ready to argue about my provocative title statement...of course, mate, I completely agree with you...peace is a very relative condition and Europe is not simply an example of unquestionable unity, which is the case that Greek people are very well aware of in comparison to most other nations. And we must not forget Ukraine...who knows what comes next...and the title I gave to this track is just an ironic facet!

Thank you so much for listening, commenting and pushing that little button..:)

    hi Orlando,

I never heard of Ultravox before but this one definitely contains some elements of older soft electronic mixed also with other, typical for relaxation background music.
There was an online radio station playing only soft ambient older electronic like this I was listening a lot at a time, your tune will fit perfectly there. To me it is still more an ambient territory. Old styled, but the syntesizers you're using do sound rather modern and complex. Is this just a multi-layered kind of pad playing the main melody line? ok... as always I am interested more in technology of the process of making a track than politics.

    very peaceful and well made.

    Best to you, Alex

    Orlando51
    Reply by Orlando51

Well....to hell with politics then:)So....in terms of making things this one is a bit of a mixed bag, There is some multi-layering but only in certain sections, yet I have to apologize that I really don't have a knack (and time)for explaining all the technical details unless when the whole thing really sums up for something very " extra-special" to me, or maybe when the actual work is extra-special to someone I'm discussing with!

Otherwise, I have to say big thank you for taking a time to listen and posting this comment!:)

I played the first line and I immediately thought of Ultravox!, and then I read your description...wow...
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp_2ClC4eME
    and a the album mix..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5EEqpkgES4
Back when John Foxx was the Lead singer. Even a little Hiroshima mon amour like as well. Most people don't know this version of Ultravox!, they only know the Ultravox Midge Ure years. But you also captured those years as well by a melodic homage too Reap the Wild Wind. very cool and love this composition.
so I will keep listening and shut up now. great job

You're absolutely right...for most people Ultravox is Midge Ure and the lads who were in the band at that time. I first heard of them when they released Vienna, but I was soon aware of the earlier lineup cause I took some interest in them. Great band they were in all of their incarnations...I'm really curious how many people on Looperman are familiar with them...I'm glad you're one of them:)

Thanks alot for this lovely feedback!

Hahaaa I'm stone cold sober you'll be happy to know.
I don't actually drink very often but when I do it mixes with my heavy medication (Pentadol) and I'm high as a kite and wobbling all over the place!
Don't even remember coming on here that night but ... I have come to expect only quality from you and you haven't disappointed yet Orlando.
Another fine piece and to me sounds very cinematic.
Very clean and professional as always.
As for piece in Europe ... I suspect Germany is going to tell America to shove it soon regarding the way they are being forced to treat Russia and Putin ... I certainly hope so but that's not for here goodnight and God bless.

    Orlando51
    Reply by Orlando51

Haha, mate, don't bother on my thoughts about drinking! As a
matter of fact I have nothing against drinking, especially when it doesn't hurt anyone too much. I think life would be boring without a drink..that's my honest opinion...I just think you shouldn't mix it too much with your medication...but then again I won't judge, it's completely your bussiness afterall.
Thanks for the positive feedback again and I raise my glass(without Pentadol) to you my friend!:)

    Hi.

I can't really hear many genres in here. It just sounds like one. I was expecting some mad changes or genres crossovers but there are none.

Anyway: what is here is classic, haunting ambient chillout. Nice, evolving lead shimmering pad work. Sounds mostly like a single synth sound that arrives on 0:50 and then continues to the end.

It's a very consistent track that sits comfortably and doesn't really move off in any other directions. That works well for spacious chillout rather than my typical style of jumping around here, there and everywhere.

Thudding kick keeps the pulse like a metronome.

    Congrats.

    Orlando51
    Reply by Orlando51

Ahh...those genres...let's just don't talk about genres...but it's my fault ofcourse....in fact I just wasn't sure whether to put this under ambient, chill out, cinematic etc. It could be anything of these, so that was what I ment.
Yeah...you're right, this doesn't go anywhere left or right or up and down, it's just strictly focused on a same type of impression throughout...it was already in the plan.:)

Anyways, thanks alot for taking a listen and comment....much appreciated!

Description : Many of you know well that Tumbleweed & Orlando collabs are pretty much well established tradition within LM society by now, and here is the newest example to reinforce that tradition. It's probably the last this year (yet never take it for granted) and I think it has (although not particularly intended) a bit of that seasonal celebrative nature, thus fitting quite well into this festive feel of December.
