Description : This track was great fun to create. It is kind of a mix of Melodic-Dubstep/Ambient/Electronic/Weird/Experimental. I really enjoyed putting all these different audio samples together, although the panning and equalizing was a bit of a battle. I personally learnt a lot creating this track.
Anyway, this is a very experimental track and not really genre specific. Feedback would be great!

Agree with the others, I do like that vocal in the mix, excellent vocal chops as well. The synth kind of didn't make sense to me, it almost sounds a bit dubstep like. Ah! but what's this? I'm liking this break down at the 3:12 mark, I'm a sucker for the piano. And is that some glockenspiel added into the mix? Very nice. Now the end synth is what you should expand on, and are the vocals gated/delayed at the end? If it is, you could maybe expand upon that too. Just some suggestions. Great production. peace
What a nice piece of music. I liked the voicesound, it´s very cool. And also al this "little" sounds around. First time i listen to it with not much volume and then i read the comments and THEN i read something about drums :) .... ok others already told you about them .... i realy didnd hear them the first listen :) but all sounded good to me.
For my opinion the way from part 2 to 3 is a bit hard to go. I needed a few seconds and i was not realy sure if its the same song. But thats just my believe.
All sounds very well to me and i could could listen to it without any problems two times.

Yeah, the drums need to shine more, no doubt. I need to read up more on mixing, particularly equalizing and mastering though, that area is still rather confusing to me. Prior to this track, I didn't even know that sub-bass was a thing and I tended to ignore equalizing all together! Regardless, this was a fun track to work on.
This was a fun listen
Someone earlier mentioned that the panning was kind of heavy handed but I like the movement in it.
I love the sonics of it and it remains musical.
Definately a Fav and it will warrant atleast a half dozen more plays/discoveries.
Peace

Thanks for the comment. I find it interesting that you and M8TN have opposing views on the vocal panning. I think that because the track is very experimental, there are no 'genre guidelines' as to what it should sound like, so its down to the listener's gut to decide. When creating this track, I was going for a sensory experience over a purely musical experience. When doing the panning on the vocals, the image I had in mind was of some ethereal spirit dancing around you.
That being said, to find the sweet spot between the sensory and the musical can only be done by getting feedback from all you guys that comment, which I really appreciate.
I like a lot of your tracks, this again is very beautiful to listen. (the panning up to 2:13 with headphones is a bit obvious, I think too much, after that I really love it)

I very much enjoyed listening to this piece of great music, it has a bit of everything in it, great dynamics and movement, chilled parts and the beautiful sounds of nature...
A fascinating piece!
Can't say much about the techinacal part though, I'm a novice myself. But cool panning. The drums drowning in the first part really didn't bother me. Great use of the vocal. Loved the piano coming through the rain!
Thanks for the DL.
I like about anything with nice bird songs, so I liked this from the beginning! The really big sounding synth in parts is really cool! I think the mix sounds very good, including panning and EQ. My only personal preference that isn't satisfied is that the drums are very low and not really there in the earlier parts of the song. It's not a big deal though, because I realize that's not what you were going for. The thumder sounded like it was coming from outside! Nice organic feel you achieved, well done!
Truth be told, I really wanted the drums in the early part the song to be more prominent. I tried sidechaining the kicks and removing the low end of the pads, but I just couldn't get them to shine out over the pads and vocals -- I just don't have the technical skills to get this right.
Anyway, thanks a lot for the comment. Creating this track has taught me many skills I hope to use in the future.
I like the way you blend the vocals in with the synth. The intro reminded me a little of an old war flute player or something. The bird noises are pretty trippy as is the vocal with the panning effect. It's a hard track to put in any particular genre so i'll have to say it's a pretty original piece.
Good work.

Description : Feel free to check out the video on YT as well (Alan McLaren Project - Upside Down) of this 6min journey from electronic to rock with some psychedelic moments...
This is my latest, but also one of my earliest tracks.... any feedback is more than welcome, thanks :)
Description : 'The main point of this song is really about the frustrations of living in the overload of today's World of Tech. The consequences are impaired communication and that if you advance too far you end up diminishing what you had to start with, so you are way worse off.' Enjoy a 60s Rhythm with a modern deep Bass, a Sitar, a Piano from EvilPianist, a lost flute from UniverseHuston and some Oscillators :-)

Description : A demo of one of my current projects. The chorus vocal sounds like "Aaaaraashe" to me. The song is in C# minor with a nod to C# pythagorean on the chorus. The beat on the verse was inspired by the Peter Gabriel song Intruder.
Description : This is one of my earliest productions that I did at the start of my recording career. I did not have a keyboard at the time I made this song, so I improvised and used my sister's iPad and a 5 dollar GarageBand application instead, and plugged the headset jack into into my PT6 rig and did my best to turn each individual track (which were mono and there were about 25 tracks or so) into a stereo image. Then recorded vocals over it. My computer was so old and slow that I had to mix my music and then BOUNCE it to a new session - four times. My computer (which had 512 MB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive) couldn't handle more than 8 tracks at a time or it'd stop working because the processor couldn't handle it. Took me FOREVER to do. But I got it done. Had a lot of fun doing it too, even if it isn't my "best" work. I'm still happy with it, considering I didn't have many tools to choose from at the time.
Description : Long time lurker first time poster, pretty new to production n stuff, this is my first track in Ableton Live.
was going for a darkwave/synthwave sound, reminiscent of Justice, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, ect.
Looking for some feed back, constructive criticisms or even just your thoughts if you liked it or not. This is just a rough cut on this current WIP, just the bones of it if you will.. If you have some cool title suggestions, would love to hear those too.
Thanks for listening.

those drums do need to be crisper.. all of which can be done in post production with eq and some compression..
just and idea I would try reversing those bird sounds as a layer in the back ground..
some nice work just needs a bloody good going over in post production .. you could have yourself a banger here if you could get that right..
nice one ...keep 'em coming brother
