Description : I did this track with Cubase 6.5, mainly the Halion and Groove Agent plugin. The more I use both plugins the better I like them. I also added an acapella by KBB0. This tune goes into the meditative instrumental Hip Hop genre, which I like a lot because of its minimalistic and repetitive but also playful approach to music. I'm still playing around with the final mix but only getting slight improvements if any. I hope this sounds ok.

Liked the energy in this simple (yet not boring) track.
Good choice of sounds and well mixed.
The bass line is a bit "obsessive" with the two notes repeated over-and-over-again, but this is not a bad thing: it makes the song "darker" and I think this was your intention.
    Beautiful trumpet solo.
    Overall, I song I liked.
    Ciao, Domenico

PS: I have to thank MrNomad for pointing me to this little gem.

Yo. Me back yet again. I started up a forum thread about favourite ever tracks on Looperman and I chose this track as one of my favourites. I thought you'd want to know.

    https://www.looperman.com/forum/thread/182742/what-are-your-favourite-tracks-on-looperman

Maybe people will come check this out a bit more because of my choice. Or maybe they won't! It really does deserve more plays and feedback. Will anyone other than me ever get round to commenting on it?

Why not let us know your top Looperman tracks. Post them on that same thread. Theres some serious quality there and Ive learned about lots of great tracks Id never heard of before.

    Congrats again.

"This means a lot to me and reading it has just made my day."

No problem, man. You deserve it. We all need some appreciation for the music we make and things we do (me included) and it's good to just hear what someone else thought, even if it's critical (which can help you improve).

I write lots of very long reviews of people's stuff and always try to listen closely and give time references for what I'm talking about so they can understand what I am saying.

Reason is awesome. If you need synths, drums, loads of FX that work beautifully, think about adding it. But all DAWs these days are great. We're spoilt for choice! No excuses not to make cool music. Please make some more and upload it here...

I forgot to say that I'm also a Cubase 6.5 user. I've run it together with Reason since 2001.

Not a particular Cubase fan, just have a lot of old work in there which I need to get round to finishing so I'm kind of locked in.

Never really used Groove Agent, Halion a bit a long time ago. Probably got similar things in Reason but maybe I'll give GA more of a try.

Padshop is a pretty cool synth and I keep forgetting to use it more.

Again, well done with this cool bit of meditative hip hop.

Thank you very much for listening and writing such a detailed and affirmative review. This means a lot to me and reading it has just made my day. To know that some people bother to listen to a track closely and also to give feedback gives me a lot of motivation to keep uploading tracks.

I also run Cubase since version 1 and updated it to version 6.5. I like Cubase a lot and I wouldnt swap it for any other program at the moment. Ive also used Reason alongside Cubase, but Ive never really gotten the hang of it. I realise though that there is a lot of potential in it.

Will defenitely check out your tracks. I could only get a glimpse of your music before I was writing this. But it sounds very promising. Im looking forward to listen to it more and pay the attention to it that it deserves.

    Thanks again!

Wicked. Meant to review this a few days ago, thought I'd made it a favourite but hadn't. So had to go searching for it again. Found it eventually.

Screw the other 20 people who have listened to this and not commented. This is such an awesome chill groove with such a cool vibe. Love that bass, the electric piano lead. Then there's that second lead brass instrument, with its menacing little melody

    2:16 cool little stutter.

This is almost perfect, except for the vocal. I will download it and listen more.

Well produced, cool drums. Couldn't ask for more.

That vocal is OK, just not as good as the rest. Doesn't give it much of a lift when it comes in. I like the idea of having the vocal there, just think you could find something better to use.

    Excellent work.

If you want to check some of my very long form trippy hip hop related stuff try Right Place Wrong Century, Zero Per Cent Proof and Way Beyond Wrong.

Will check more of your tracks. Take care.

Description : This is for my friend Danke who can't sleep at night. Yes, heat, heat...I guess Africa is hotter, but don't let the title and intro as well, deceive you! This is not African music nor the imitation of it. It's just a picture of starry African sky at night, painted with my european musical sensibilities and some imagination. So this is for Danke in the first place and then maybe for anyone who would like to fall asleep.:)...
Good night!:)

Description : Dear Loopers...Let Ed and me take you to the world of yet another musical fantasy born out of our latest collab efforts. Ed provided basic structure of the track with ever solid rhythm section, tasty synths and vocal pads while I took
on a role of pretending to be multi-instrumentalist again by smuggling in some sweet strings, bulgarian flute, celtic harp,
unexpectedly blurry piano and this time a tiny bit of real live acoustic guitar...what an adventure for a vst/keyboard guy..:) As always
my sincere thanks to Ed not only for letting me enjoy his great musical company but also for still standing as one of the firm pillars of Looperman society !

Description : I went to the beach and set up my stereo recording mic under a gazebo near it (I apologize for some of the air gusts being recorded haha; we had a strong SE wind that day :P Tried my best to place it out of the wind); wanted to record myself playing live and do some cheesy roleplay in the process - wanted to make it feel like the listener was sitting there beside me. ** This is what the beach looks like: http://static.travel.usnews.com/images/destinations/80/south_padre_island_main.jpg **

Lo and behold, I'm about halfway through the song when my buddy Mark, a friend from college, heard me singing and decided to join me (he seems to never part with his guitar lol).

The expression on his face was that of confusion as to why I had my mic with me and a audio-capturing device, which I plugged into an outdoor electrical plug that the gazebo owners installed lol (I've done recordings like this before but didn't like the results; we messed up a little at the end but I was like meh it's not bad anyways.) but I'm glad he didn't say it out loud or it would have ruined the recording lol. Luckily, I was playing a song he and I wrote together some time ago, so he was able to just jump right in. He's a great guitar player.

Even though it was a little awkward at the end since we hadn't seen each other for like 4 months (you might be able to tell by the way I responded to his "thats so cool" comment haha), I think it turned out just fine. It was a lovely evening and the clouds were all poofy and happy. Lots of people were there too, though I made sure to sit far away from all of them. Ahh, it was a beautiful day. I'm glad I live by the ocean :P * Just kidding, I recorded this in my studio; though I do live close to the water, this was not recorded there :P I did everything, down to the wind blowing into the mic, except for the sound of water and the kids in the background. I got those sounds here: freesfx.co.uk/login/

The guitars and vocals were one-takes to give a more realistic feel. No pitch-correction or autotune. Just wanted to try making another soundscape (or whatever you want to call this :P) about what it's like to live by the ocean.

Description : Glen Cloy is one of the glens of Antrim (Tumbleweed's county) in Northern Ireland. The little people, actualy fairies, populate all of them and they all have very old ghost stories that have been told for centuries (and still are)...This one is about Shaman of old and his journeys through the spiritual world...That sums up what Ed told me about the concept for our 7th (how convenient^^) collab work. The main core of the track is Ed's work and the original length was 5:18, but I wouldn't have been Orlando if I didn't tempt to compose my longest intro to date (3:10) to inject my own fantasies about little creatures of Glen Cloy (soft spot for spiritual world..hehe..). Other than that I also added some synths arrangements and vocal samples for the rest of the track and probably ruined it a bit..haha..but that's how collabs are sometimes..:)^^.....All my thanks to Ed...and Irish ghosts ofcourse...
