Description : My fellow Looperman ShortBusMusic pointed me in the direction of this fantastic acapella (thanks Bear)

https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/118506

The timing is a little odd and there are a couple of 3/4 bars in there to keep you on your toes. Acoustic guitar on one side and my Godin Xtsa on it's acoustic setting on the other. Electric down the middle picking out the chords, acoustic piano, strings, EZdrums with a tam mirroring the snare, an arpeggio thing going on in the background and a self indulgent guitar solo. I had a great time putting this together!!

This is really good Richie, wow. The vocals are great and the music. shhh. The music feels too good. I listen and get lost in this moment. When I hear your music man I feel good all the time then when the song has finished I start to think "Now this is real music that anyone could feel" then I realize that the so called "music" I make is wrong. My apologies. Thank you for sharing your great music with all of us. I appreciate hearing such good sounds put together. Keep creating and have fun Richie. I enjoyed the listen, as always. Peace.

What's up Richie. How's it going man. I always say that I'm sorry for not being around but I'm so into music I lose myself into my own world. I wish I was a vampire so I had all the time to listen and review everyone. Haha .

On the serious note, this is a serious track bro. dam. I want to jump off the subject for a second and say those fellow musicians/producers and engineers, when you make awesome tracks like this make sure you back up your work. Trust me. LOL

I went through moments where I have lost valuable stuff and wanted to pull my hair out but that's another story. lol

Sorry for the blabbering :P I enjoyed this tune a a lot Richie. Take care. :)

What a great ballad! Excellent crisp production and a well balanced mix. Amelia June's vocal is excellent and I really like the Larry Carlton-esque sound on the guitar solo. Top track Richie.

Dang man, you have some talent putting a song together. This sets such a somber mood. Reminds me a bit of a Sarah Mcglachlan piece. Emotional and peaceful, intriguing and wonderful, just to give a few words to describe this. Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks ever so much for stopping by and commenting. I really appreciate it. It's a great vocal track and Amelia June has fantastic timbre to her voice. I was trying to be very careful I didn't destroy any of that in the process of producing the track. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks again.

    Hi Chris

Thanks very much for the comments. I really appreciate it. Amelia June's vocal is just so good I felt I had to put something together using it. Glad you liked the production and your comment "very precise" is indeed a great compliment. I do try hard to get it right and spend ages deliberating over a single note and if it's in the right place or not!

The guitar patches are mostly those within Logic although my Roland GR55 has some good sounds in too. f$*'%ing good I'll take any day - thank you.

I haven`t caught up with all of your tracks yet Richie, but every time I hit play on another one I am totally taken in by the talent....like this one for example...Beautiful vocal for certain, but being an old guitar guy (whose listening skills have expanded over the years I think) I pay a lot of attention to the instruments, composition etc...I would run over the word limit to try & describe everything I like about this one...so let me just say a very well done to both of you...This one goes on my MP3 player...beautiful work....Ed (P.S:.I don`t own a Godin (yet) but they are one very high quality instrument that don`t get near as much attention as they should...I have played a few in the music store & love the feel of the slightly flatter neck radius...you`ve got your XTsa sounding extra sweet)

    Hi Ed

I'm glad you liked the "guitar only" approach to the track. I just felt like getting back to a basic three guitars and drums live feel was appropriate. Thanks for your very kind comments - much appreciated.

The Godin XTSA is a lovely guitar in many respects. It's beautifully made from high quality materials (never had a guitar with an ebony fretboard before - really nice) and has three distinctive playing opportunities. Normal electric (two humbuckers and a single coil), acoustic (using the built in transducers) and MIDI using the Roland GR55 compatible connection. So versatile. Anyway, I could go on and on (and on) about guitars so I'll stop right now.

Thanks again and always a great pleasure to have you visit and comment.

Richie, what a wonderful treatment of Amelia June's vox. I love everything about this, from the guitar solo, to the mix, to the pacing (wow, just brilliant) to the beautiful chord progressions. I've heard just about every interpretation of her pella, but this one ranks right up there at the top.

Superb in every aspect, and in every way possible.

Bravo my friend. And a huge thanks for the download, straight to my all time favorites.

on a role of pretending to be multi-instrumentalist again by smuggling in some sweet strings, bulgarian flute, celtic harp,
unexpectedly blurry piano and this time a tiny bit of real live acoustic guitar...what an adventure for a vst/keyboard guy..:) As always

Description : I went to the beach and set up my stereo recording mic under a gazebo near it (I apologize for some of the air gusts being recorded haha; we had a strong SE wind that day :P Tried my best to place it out of the wind); wanted to record myself playing live and do some cheesy roleplay in the process - wanted to make it feel like the listener was sitting there beside me. ** This is what the beach looks like: http://static.travel.usnews.com/images/destinations/80/south_padre_island_main.jpg **

Lo and behold, I'm about halfway through the song when my buddy Mark, a friend from college, heard me singing and decided to join me (he seems to never part with his guitar lol).

The expression on his face was that of confusion as to why I had my mic with me and a audio-capturing device, which I plugged into an outdoor electrical plug that the gazebo owners installed lol (I've done recordings like this before but didn't like the results; we messed up a little at the end but I was like meh it's not bad anyways.) but I'm glad he didn't say it out loud or it would have ruined the recording lol. Luckily, I was playing a song he and I wrote together some time ago, so he was able to just jump right in. He's a great guitar player.

Even though it was a little awkward at the end since we hadn't seen each other for like 4 months (you might be able to tell by the way I responded to his "thats so cool" comment haha), I think it turned out just fine. It was a lovely evening and the clouds were all poofy and happy. Lots of people were there too, though I made sure to sit far away from all of them. Ahh, it was a beautiful day. I'm glad I live by the ocean :P * Just kidding, I recorded this in my studio; though I do live close to the water, this was not recorded there :P I did everything, down to the wind blowing into the mic, except for the sound of water and the kids in the background. I got those sounds here: freesfx.co.uk/login/

The guitars and vocals were one-takes to give a more realistic feel. No pitch-correction or autotune. Just wanted to try making another soundscape (or whatever you want to call this :P) about what it's like to live by the ocean.

Description : Glen Cloy is one of the glens of Antrim (Tumbleweed's county) in Northern Ireland. The little people, actualy fairies, populate all of them and they all have very old ghost stories that have been told for centuries (and still are)...This one is about Shaman of old and his journeys through the spiritual world...That sums up what Ed told me about the concept for our 7th (how convenient^^) collab work. The main core of the track is Ed's work and the original length was 5:18, but I wouldn't have been Orlando if I didn't tempt to compose my longest intro to date (3:10) to inject my own fantasies about little creatures of Glen Cloy (soft spot for spiritual world..hehe..). Other than that I also added some synths arrangements and vocal samples for the rest of the track and probably ruined it a bit..haha..but that's how collabs are sometimes..:)^^.....All my thanks to Ed...and Irish ghosts ofcourse...
