Description : Somebody recently asked me to do some more of these old-school style street beats so I will upload a few new ones over the next few days. Here's one now in fact! Vinyl FX from actual recorded crackle and beat made with Kong drum machine.

Description : Super dirty and industrial. I recorded this beat from my MC-505 about 20 years ago and just rediscovered it on an old hard drive. It is poorly recorded and has noise and hum in the signal but there's something about it that is still cool.

Description : Another hip hop beat made to sound like it was sampled off an old record. Made with Battery 4 and the vinyl FX on my SP sampler.

Description : Made with drum racks and Origin VST FX. I used the Trap drums pack to make this beat, so I hope it's authentic sounding! I spread the lo-fi fx out to the sides and kept the main kick in the middle for power.

Description : Turns out the Juno-D can do a pretty good drum beat as well. I have sampled the sounds from the Juno and sequenced them in Ableton. Vinyl crackle is sampled from a record.

Description : Using Kong today, mostly to work out how to get the damn pads on my Launchkey to play the pads on the on-screen sampler (which is automatic in Ableton Drum Racks...good one Reason). The secret was custom pad mapping through the Novation Components app. Finally Kong is like my SP-606 to use. I'm rambling ... enjoy the drum loop.

Description : This loop was fun to make. Lo-fi recording then chopped up into bits in the SP-606 sampler and layered with a 909 kick for extra punch. Could work well as a bridge in a hip-hop track.

Description : Another MC-505 loop, this time paired with my RD-9 kick to give the kick more punch than the 505 can generally do on its own. A slight bit of fuzz mixed into the top loop sounds but not on the kick, which is clean and punchy.

Description : A lardy break from me, made to sound like it was sampled from an old record. This loop was made using my SP-606 sampler, which has excellent vinyl simulation and nice compression on the master for overweight beats.
