I'm using a monster one-of-a-kind solid-body 20-string slide guitar. I'm doing multiple-voices, flute and I cooked up a strange rhythm track using real and no-so-real drums. Master Gary Iannuzzi layed down a deep bass-line.
Description : A song to my wifey, more or less. I guess you can call it blues-grass. Paul Luria's doing guitar & banjo. I'm singing or whining and doing background. I'm playin' a sadly, beautiful flute in the middle. The whole tune is sad & beautiful. The song-story's about a guy who, it seems, just got out of re-hab or some other institution.

Description : Performed on my one-of-a-kind, 20-string, electric/acoustic dulcimer of my own design which I no longer play owing to arthritis. Oh well. This instrumental composition has no overdubs and is dedicated to a Jesuit Monk who got permission from The Vatican to go into the catacombs in order to translated into English some scrolls that were related to The Essenes, which were the original Christians. Is this esoteric enough for ya?

Description : There are a million versions of this but I wrote the 2nd verse. I overdubbed vocals, the jaw-harp,(that froggy-sounding thing) one-string bass, my mini-drum kit with real hand-claps, and a 16-string Swedish fiddle-harp called the nyckelharpa. April's Rain fluctuates in mood from a spring-like joy to a grim depression-----much like we all feel in April when winter's not quite over as we long for warm weather. It's a deeply symphonic-jazz composition that will sooth and mesmerize you.
Description : Features my beerin-bow, a one-string bow with a gourd on it to acoustically amplify the sound-----it looks like a bow and arrow and it is from Brazil. (Who knows, maybe it's the first string instrument?) It is played with a stick (or arrow) and it is fretted with a small stone. I added percussion, my one-string bass, penny-whistle and a couple of flute tracks.
This tune will make you feel like you're eating coke-leaves while jumping around a campfire in the jungle.
Description : The title and imagery was inspired from an old postcard of people watching a famous hotel-nightclub burning down on the New Jersey shore. Dave Brubeck actually got to listen to this and commented on it. He liked it a lot and said it reminded him rhythmically of his Take Five tune. (It's the only "brush with fame story" I'll probably ever have to tell.)
It's got a tight, jazzy, pre-amped chord structure done on my 20-string electric dulcimer. The middle part goes into a mushroom-like suspended time-warp that will take you into ecstasy if you're open enough. I also play drums and my one-string bass. Bon Voyage!

Cause that's how to describe this tune, named after the violinist, Miamon Miller. Dante is the guitarist who originated the composition. I'm on my one-string bass. We're called The Moondog Trio.

Description : Cosmic blues? Put your body in a hot-tub, and your mind at sea, and you'll get to feel some chills when I split octaves and finger-bend (no twang-bar) my 20-string electric/acoustic dulcimer-fire-harp. Which is also bowed like a cello on a separate track. Think Jeff Beck slowed down. It almost sounds like dub-style-trance-music, as monotony is as real as train-sounds in the valley at 5:am.
I must confess in my boiled heart-of-hearts, I actually am saying fair-well to someone.
Description : I labeled this as "fusion". My stuff is a confusion, pro-fusion of known and unknown styles of music.
Testosterone takes a beating in this, I guess, anti-war-song. Call me a peace-nick. Good. Smart Bombs could be a snide rock-anthem. Too bad it took me until we had planted our military foot in Iraq.
Testosterone is an analogy for yang-yang militarism which the world suffers from. Oh well. But brace yourself for a Yardbird musical climax toward the end. Scream along with it. Gary Iannuzzi lays down a cool bass-track.
Description : A big-fat, reggae-trance tune. If Jim Morrison had gotten to merge with reggae, he might have liked this. Sister Donna does some harmony. My flute-playing is often heavily influenced by India and Indonesia. I'd love to hear a Jamaican reggae-band do this. It's dedicated to my darlin' wifey. Sweet hypnotism all the way!
Description : An anti-orthodox, recovering Catholic, neo-pagan song. Got it? Part Gregorian, part Church-Lady pop, part implanted wisdom from the tombs under The Vatican; and Holy Smoke still burns my lungs. The last stage sounds like a layed-back jam from the late 70's, though it was recorded in 2,005.
Description : So some Italian guy said Flora translates to Goddess of Flowers. There are blissful chord-passages throughout, my one-string walking bass, my own swing-drums and a couple of 20-string fire-harp tracks. During the solo I get to sail away on some slinky, snake-slithering finger-bends, without a twang-bar or slide. But it's for a Goddess that this is composed. We have de-evolved from freedom-loving matriarchal cultures.

Description : The lyrics could be cynical or sincere. The pressure on us guys to be the perfect romantic hero is absurd. Anyway the music surrounding the words is Santana-like. There are no guitars on this track, only overdubs of my 20-string electric dulcimer. I'm also doing flute and percussion. A dear friend of mine, Gary Iannuzzi is doing his Grateful Dead style bass. Occasionally this tune gets played on a local radio station in Worcester, Massachusetts.
