Nice chill track. I like the piano break a lot. For me, the female parts were stronger than the male part, both vocally and lyrically. Come on, gents, pump it up, them ladies are workin' it! Cool vibe for a sunny afternoon...
Well this is a pretty funktastic piece. There's some mojo in here for sure, so I don't think you've lost it at all. I like the first half better than the second, however. The break at about 2:55 felt a bit abrupt, and then I felt the 2nd part was less cohesive than the first, like you're trying out some ideas but they haven't quite completely gelled. I like the darkness of the cello(?) but then couldn't follow some of the musical logic of how that was incorporated into the flow. There's definitely potential here, and mojo, so break out of that lazy funk and get to work!
I love the orchestrated anarchy of this. It kept me bouncin throughout. I don't how you rein in all those crazy sounds, but you do and set them bangin obediently in rhythmic harmony to a bad-ass beat. Great job.
I enjoyed that moment. It was like a musical massage. Was a bit stressed putting on the headphones, and less so taking them off. I actually dropped my head and lolled it around a bit. Thank you.
A groovy groovy groovy groovy groove. This is a monster groove. I hope you build something on it cuz there's so much you could do with it. Cool that you somehow generated all these sounds yourself. Me, I'm dependent on loops to get going. Great job - great start of something major.
:) yes but it's so hard to me when it's not supposed to use any loop to get going .
thank you very much CitizenMofo for dropping these kind words
into my box .
I'm glad of reading your comment , thank you much much .
Seriously superb. This is a mix I can study to learn how to mix. The bass is fantastic and the horns and sax are perfect. I love everything about this - except one thing: It ends too soon!
Hey MrMofo thanks man!..it's always a dilemma on how long to make a track, I usually always think in terms of longer tracks (Lp's back in the day) but we've been conditioned to accept short tunes by the radio I guess..next time much longer for sure! haha...cheers mate Dave/PJB :)
3 thumbs up! Ambient, yes, I suppose, but to me this is more complex than that, more engaging, to me it's Cinematic, in fact takes me on a journey, an emotional journey with a lot of floating involved. I shut my eyes for most of it to listen, staring off into the distance of my eyelids. It's that kind of music, you see clouds in your eyelids and feel the breeze. Whether there's life after death or not, however, I do not know. But this music is a beautiful expression of the question.
Hello Mofo,
Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback and very kind words mate.
I find it very interesting and I do hope that we will meet after our death.
Otherwise as Pete said “What is our agenda for living.”
I am really glad you liked it
I only put it there just to tick boxes.
Thanks again mate

I couldn't understand the words, whether Spanish or English, but I dig the obsessive simplicity of the music. And the insane bass - man that just fills your soul, that bass. It's a hard hitter and I like it.
Thanks a lot, it took a while to get that bass to sound big and powerful without it taking up too much headroom and keeping the kick up there. and yes, bass does fill your soul idk what we'd do if bass didnt exist!!
Sounds right to me too, Gnasty. Sometimes you grab ahold of a groove and the shit goes down fast. This is just fantastic. Call it hip hop but it's drenched in funk, like a wet dog, dripping with it and splattering the walls. I love the rhythm of the insouciant keys and then my favorite part is when the sax joins that dance. Groovy sounds all the way through, and plenty of variation within the groove to keep the mind engaged. High-class stuff, this. Thank you.
I appreciate the feedback, I had a hard time describing the track but you did it perfectly! You have quite a way with words. Thanks for the listen and analysis!

Instant fave! I love this song and I love your family. I laughed out loud at least 5 times. I like how the plucked melody plays out slowly, with all the other plucking going on. It's really a sweet, delightful piece! If there was one thing I would do, as a songwriter, is write a different second verse. I think it would add to the delight of it. For what it's worth. Thank you.
I love this rockabilly groove. The guitars sound great. There's spaces for the verses, the chorus and the bridge, so it's ready for lyrics, and this is the kind of track that's really easy to write for, the lyrics just jump right out of the music. If I wasn't the shittiest singer on earth, I'd come up with something and share. But I am. A great, honest, down-to-earth piece of music with a beating heart and dancing feet. Great job.
Very '80s! A great boppy little tune, enjoyed by me on a rainy Sunday morning. I do think you need a better vocalist - you still sound better than me, but this needs some real '80s flavor and pizzazz in the vocals that only a real pro could pull off. The vocals will be key. I think once you have that, you'll know what else needs to be done, if anything. You're well on your way to a really top-notch song.
Thanks for the comment, CitizenMofo. I'm sorry I didn't respond to your comment much earlier. Didn't mean to be rude. I didn't realize I had these comments on the trackI
I wholeheartedly agree with you that I need a better vocalist. I keep searching, but seems to be very hard to find anybody that is willing to work with me. But, I live in hope. :)
Great piece. The title and the music go together to create a mood. The mix is interesting to me, how the beat seems to ride above everything else but without being overbearing. I like when the vocals come in, all of a piece with everything else. Somehow it all seems to make sense.
Your words are welcome!
It's a bit of work to do with the equalization, I've been trying hard to improve, it's a genre that I do not have much ease with, but when I have a good idea, I'll go straight to try to create it,
thank you so much again.
This is perfect. Really an amazing, fully realized and executed piece of work, with every detail thought through, from the incredible power of the build to that great booming sound at the end. Loved it.
Lovely. Stilled my mind. Made me feel peaceful. Good blend of the two. The transition in the middle - a bend in the river, from a broader, slower flow to more flurries of rapids, but still the same river. I like the two planes, the plane of bowing and the plane of plucking - gave plenty to engage my ears and mind with the ineffableness of it all. Great build at the end. Loved it.
Cool track. I like the obsessiveness of the melody, but the variations keep it interesting. For about the first half. The second half seems pretty much a repeat of what we've already heard, so my inclination there is to desire more breaks and variations to keep my ears and mind engaged. But perhaps you mean it as a base track for vocals. At any rate, there's a lot of good stuff going on here.
Thanks, I appreciate the in depth feedback. You are absolutely right, the second half is basically just a repeat. Good to hear you want more variation, I was originally trying to keep it relatively basic so that vocals could go on top of it, but after hearing that I think I will copy the project and see where else I can take it! Thanks again for the feedback - Gnasty
I enjoyed this track, but mostly my ear was drawn to the subterranean stuff - that bass just kills it. The melodies riding on top of that, less interesting to me. I found my ears burrowing down into that bass all the time to see what it was doing. My suggestion - for what it's worth! - is to exploit that bass more, that subterranean drive. Maybe I just prefer darker stuff but I think maybe there's darkness in here that wants to take over...
I was excited just to see the post, cuz I love that cigar box guitar sound. Soothing, yes, that's the perfect word for this piece. Also exquisite. Lovely. I could well imagine this in a movie scene shot in a swamp like your pic on youtube shows - directors should be getting in touch with you. Or whoever does the getting in touch. Great rich ambient piece. The long drawn-out fade on the chirping or cheeping at the end made me smile... You could almost feel the dusk descending...
I want to make a better video with moving images, maybe like walking through the swamp. Soundtrack music for sure! A number of people have said where the hell is the directors! I make ALOT of stuff perfect for movies. I'd love to make my own animated film like Fantasia or Allegro Non Troppo with my music. I started experimenting with soundscaping and voice acting due to the fact I cannot sing! Trust me hahahaha I do spoken word no problem and extreme metal vocals (wouldn't consider that singing). But I really prefer to let the sounds and the guitar tell the tale. Here's on animated one I made with music Designed Impression shared with me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAVY-QTKJPA Bit dark, but that's along the lines of what I'd like to make for Bottomlands. Or here's a funny one with 3rd nipple Neal Visher's song Bobby https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAZ9-UzmDC8 Fun stuff :D Thanks CM More on the way as well as hoping get that cbg made this month and off to you and Sunny. Made a 3 string olive oil can one Saturday tuned open D (DAD) for a change. Just need to electrify it to record it easily.
"Written and recorded in an afternoon" - that's the beauty of making songs, you can get that instant gratification. I really like the sound of this. Drew me in and held me. Love what's here but I feel it needs to be longer. Basically you seem to have one verse that's repeated. You could have two different verses, a chorus, and a musical bridge to develop the ideas and music and take us on a longer and deeper journey. Slow songs like to be longer. There's no shame in a 4 or 5 minute song, so long as the variation is there to carry the listener. Anyway, that's what my gut told me when I got to the end - "wait, that's it? But you're just starting!" One man's opinion - hope it helps.
Your wish is my command.
My friend popped over and said "you're not ending that shit there!". He then picked up my guitar and... well, I'm updating the track now. Thanks man.
Lush and lovely piano piece. Though it's short, there's plenty of variation in sound and pacing throughout with the alternation of the chord sections and the main melody. Enjoyed it very much.
