Silve this is one cute track bro !
I totally dig the saw wave bass lines. Lots of production in here man. You definitely put some effort into this and it paid off. Awesome progressions and transitions throughout and very skillful editing, especially at fading the motorcycle sound effect in and out to keep it from becoming to monotonous. You rocked the (Progressive) House on this one my man. This will most assuredly be a fan fave at the dance clubs and pool parties this summer !!!
Thankyou for your kind remarks Neo.
It was head banging fun making it.
You know how you have to listen over and over and over .... foot stomping etc ... thanks fr commenting.
Hey Evan, this is loaded with some far out strings and things! That intro reminds me of an 80s song by a band called Diesel - "Sausalito Summernight".
For me this has sort of an Arabic or Middle Eastern vibe to it. Yeah, pretty neat effect there with the Wah, you could have stretched that out a bit more for sure!
I Dig it man !
I will be listening to your Sausalito song now. Gotta know.
Interesting you say Arabic. I never had any kind of intentions for that. I'll take it!
The wah was short because I was getting clips all over the place. Pedal's wah is a bit crackly. You can hear a few toward the end of the line. I had it go linger, but it was distracting to me. I'll be messing with pitch-shifed wahs a bit more now.
Wow TG, this is tight!
I really dig those blues pentatonic runs. Very cool over the hip hop groove. You don't hear much of that. At least I haven't. I heartily agree with Katz and DJ regarding more separation between the bass line and that synth. The bass is loosing the battle there. It may not be just a volume thing but I would want the bass way more dominant. Of course its up to you but play around with it and see what you think. Good luck with this and I hope you give us a listen to the final edit.
Thanks...
Looking for and found a sound of my own I think, can't get away
from sounding a like because of the gear...
But you don't have to play it like everyone else, nowhere near the
box...But I love the Pocket... :-)
As well the bass was not done by me, so I can't tinker with the main
track to much...Start trying to pull the bottom and you will pull
mud with it...sorta...
Time will tell if the final will be posted...
Don't know if its heavy enough to be considered Doom Metal maybe Doom Punk !
I dig the guitar track but wish there could have been more chord progression or a bridge. Great job on the vocals, really adds to the sinister or macabre element.
I think it is more Dark Gloom Rock but i am not good in genres and i am really not into Rock and or Mestal at all :)
Last metal concert i enjoyed was somewhat around 1984 with
Corn and Ozzy and Iron Maiden and two others. They played in a big sports hall on two stages, so it was almost 7 hours in one go :)
Almost enough for a life time
This track wasn´t planed in any way, so i had no influence on the music at all. I just grab Phatkatz track and start working a bit on it. Maybe there is not much progression but i feel like it fits good to the overall feeling of the track. A little solo could be intressting but thats Phatkatz work :)
Thanks for your kind words. I bet Burt enjoys your "avant garde" same then me
Damn V, I apologise man, I've been outta touch here lately and done gone and missed the debut of this mighty track! As anticipated, its indeed sum ass kickin tuneage, that only the ValveDriver truly can deliver ! When I saw "Dubstep" I thought yeah, this is gonna be unruly as F@#k! You didn't disappoint. I enjoyed hearing your take on the genre. Well executed blend of cinematic effects and Horror soundtrack. Absolutely dig the bridge there at 2:10 bro. I cranked the bitch to max volume and not only fried some speaker cones but also opened a dimension portal to somewhere I definitely didn't want to explore or allow anything in from. Had to back off a few clicks to close it !
Seriously, its always pleasure to sample your stuff. Thanks for the eargasm. Keep em comin please!!!
No biggie on missing the debut. I've been out for a while too. I understand, life has shit planned that we don't!
" I enjoyed hearing your take on the genre"
I heard some shit one day that called itself "Deep Medi Dubstep." So I checked it out further. It was pretty cool. Super bass driven, and pretty mellow all around. A nice wide, dark atmospheric, minimal kind of deal. Right up my alley as far as electronic goes. (Metal is a whole different story). I liked it quite a bit, and when I started the tune, it kind of just naturally flowed, so I let it. My track isn't as quality as a lot of what I've heard, but, it'll do for now.
" ...but also opened a dimension portal to somewhere I definitely didn't want to explore or allow anything in from."
Yes. I know it well. It's called the inside of my head when left alone for too long.
Anyhow, I'm glad to see you back, and I'm glad you liked the track. There will definitely be more coming. Even with as busy and chaotic as it's been, I'm still finding time to be creative. Not much sometimes, but I make sure to keep doing it.
Hey Evan.
I'm Groovin on this new tune!
Sadly I've haven't spent much time here on the Loop over several months and have probably missed several tracks from those I tend to follow. Hoping to get back to frequency again. Anyhow during my hiatus it seems you have done some experimenting as I'm noticing some different instruments in use here that differ from what I remember as being your typical choice. Nothing wrong with that, on the contrary I really like the freshness and unique quality your bringing to the table. I can vouch for those commenting on the Asian flavoring that appears evident here. My girlfriend is Asian and I get to listen to a lot of this type of music now. Some I really like, some not so much. I know it wasn't intentional on your part but I did feel it a bit as well.
I have always liked your style and agree to some extent with what Aaron said. But also would like to encourage you to continue to blaze your own trail and don't put that much stock in what you get in terms of track feedback here or anywhere else. Its cool to hear everyone's take and all and a lot of people think its necessary to progress. I don't so much agree. But that's another thing entirely.
Hey good luck on the Drum software. I'm presently working with Superior drummer which I chose over EZdrummer because of its better sound shaping options and MIDI control features that EZ doesn't have. You might compare to see which would be better suited to you especially considering its more designed for the professional musician. Not that I'm a professional by any means, but in your case it might make a difference.
"Sadly I've haven't spent much time here on the Loop over several months....Hoping to get back to frequency again....during my hiatus"
Not my business, but I hope everything is OK and things are going good again. Life can be such shit sometimes, that we really have to appreciate every second we're suckin in and blowin out air.
"encourage you to continue to blaze your own trail and don't put that much stock in what you get in terms of track feedback here or anywhere else. Its cool to hear everyone's take and all and a lot of people think its necessary to progress. I don't so much agree."
I've realized something recently. Since discovering this site, and posting tracks and getting feedback, I've been writing my music with the thought of the opinions of others. How something may be received. In that way, I feel I've lost something visceral. At the same time, I feel that it's made me more productive because of the desire to make something that others enjoy. It's a really good feeling having someone enjoy something you've made. I've been trying not to let that steer me, take more time with tracks, keep it enjoyable.
Drum software cash has yet to appear, (though I've been praying to the ghost of John Bohnam, and the deity known as Danny Carey, asking for the cash, but they seemed to have had something else going on at that moment).
Some awesome production in your version AD. Much more interesting than the original. I like the glitch on the vocal too. Yeah man, as mentioned you've got it a bit over compressed so its really effecting the dynamics. Give it some head room and you will notice the difference.
I only know the radio versio, which is linked in the forum maybe the original mix is more interesting, dunno. Tried my best in this case. Fixing things and watching videos (i thought I know how to use a compressor... HELL NO!!).
Hey Spiv !
Man this is crazy ! It does sort of resemble chip tune in a way. Great job in developing the melodies and keeping it evolving. Some pretty high pitched ear testing stuff in there too. I felt myself wanting to raise my hands left and right along with the panning !!
Nice cutting edged track, I dig it !
Hey Neomorpheus, good to hear from you on this track! There are logic chips involved in the construction of this synth, so I guess it could be classed as chiptune. I always think of chiptune as involving the sound generating chips from old games such as gameboy and atari stuff, but I think the way it is perceived is changing. I'm glad the melodies sound like they are evolving, because underneath it all it's pretty simple. I guess it's high pitched in a way, I think it's more the span of the harmonics, as the fundamental pitches are not all that high in relation to the human hearing spectrum. Put your hands in the air! Am I right?! Thank you for the listen and comment my friend!
Once again you knock me to the dirt !
Dude this is straight out of Waters' and Gilmores' portfolio. Awesome arrangement and so well played. Holy crap I dig this ! Man, your raisin the bar bro. This is a classic piece of pure rock.
Un-freakin believably cool !
As much I've loved the Floyd comparisons, I have a hard time with it. I mean, it's like a 3rd grader saying his crayon drawing is similar to a DaVinci masterpiece. I think the main reason this came out so "Floydian" is because...
A)I've spent the last 35 years listening to them. It's to the point now where, really, I don't even need the albums anymore. They're so burned into my brain.
B)More specifically, I've spent the last 3 months listening to nothing BUT them. So, I guess it's pretty natural that it would bleed through, ya know?
Either way, that reward part of my brain is loving the fact that what I did is reminding people of my all time favorite band. I guess that just means I might actually be starting to learn something, huh?
Thanks for stopping by, man. I always appreciate your feedback.
Damn I've been out of the loop here for the holidays, moved into a new house and its put a serious stall on all my activity here and in my studio. Just now getting round to checking on what I've missed. Dude this seriously rocked me to the core ! F'n total kick ass shit ! That intro sounds a lot like VanHalen's "One foot out the Door" off the Fair Warning LP. I do hear some similarity to my bud Valvedrivers heavy industrial groove stuff there in the beginning but once you hit the drop its undoubtedly StaticNomad. Major props on the guitar and bass lines in here. I was hoping you would revert back to that opening groove to end it but instead you went into one of your signature jams there at 5:00 which you really packed full of some tasty psychedelic guitar.
I really enjoyed this heavier style track from you. I guess we all agree there isn't enough metal on here. Really cool to see more guys taking up the call.
I dig it my friend, great job and thanks for sharing this one for sure.

That's what I aim for. Unless it's a chillout track. F'n total gently caressed ass shit, perhaps? Or maybe not.
I will now have to check out One foot Out The Door. Hope it doesn't sound too much like my intro. That would disappoint me. Don't actually listen to Van Halen at all. Never listened to a whole album.

Yeah, then I'm in my chillout groove comfort zone - comes much more natually to me than heavy shit.

Yeah, I thought many times about how I was going to return to it (and its triplet metal grooves) but it never seemed necessary. One problem is that I like to do something considerably different/enhanced when I bring a section back. Problem is that I'd kind of already covered everything in the first 1:20, which I see as a short masterpiece. Maybe it still would have been cool to bring it back in pretty much the same form again.
Maybe I will try making that happen as I'm still playing around with extending this and I've just this second had an idea as to how I might bring the intro back. Quite short track for me, eh?
"guess we all agree there isn't enough metal on here"
Yeah, it's not MetalMan or LooperShred or whatever.
I was confident you'd dig this and it seems you dug the shit out of it. Good digging.

That's what I appreciate, the "Not your best, sounds weak, needs some balls, did you copy the squeaks?, sounds cheesy, sounds fake, etc,etc.". I feel like those statements are the most helpful BECAUSE they hurt the pride a bit. It makes me want to fix it, and then never repeat that mistake.
"Just hope you understand where I'm coming from."
I do, and I appreciate it very much. I encourage criticism and ideas, just not assholes in the forums like our buddy MosReQuest. What a Scat-Muncher! I hope a Box Jellyfish tries to fuck his face, and a video of it goes on Youtube with a lot of tears and twitching up on the shore. It would be the same look as in the picture, even pointing to his face like the picture!
Anyway, here's to you. Have a good one, and thanks again.
There's something strange happening here on these waveforms ! Geo I really dig this track man. Did you use the keyboard to create or is it programmed. I definitely have to give you props on the FL Slayer lead, that intro note did some damage to the ol' ear drums but it was worth it ! Very interesting mix, oh and the vocal track is tight too. Like the subtle glitches. Yeah man I would suggest giving it a once over on EQ but don't drop the levels much, it needs to punch. Oh one more thing, where'd the title come from? I'm from Texas so, just curious.
All programmed
I called it texas destroyer because that's what I named the harmor synth I used for the bass ages ago xD
My naming conventions are a bit sporadic.
Yeah man this is an extremely well produced track !
I totally dig the similarities to a few classic horror themes. Also love the "cha cha, ah ah's" !!! The dub elements are nicely done too, not too over the top. Great job LSD !!!
Lots of cool packed into this one Cru. Love the big piano intro and how you transistion into the pads and arps there at 1:38. I was just about to drift into a nice chilled trance...ahhhh . Then WHAM ! You slapped me back into consciousness with that metal whip and bang thing! Very unexpected. Really sweet composition here though with some very interesting twists. I liked it.
Hey Denis, yeah man very nice melody here.
Azzy mentioned the dead space there at 2:25. I also would suggest adding a few wobbles and some other elements to offset the repetiveness. Its definitely a real nice foundation here.
Awesome track man, whoa I love it !
Very underground sounding groove with an amazing amount of layered effects and sounds. This took some time and effort.
Very good bro, I'm totally digging it !!!
Yeah man, nice sublime Deep House. It does bear resemblance to the Route 94 track. Man you got some serious skills for your age, you definitely need to keep at this. Sometime in the near future we will all be telling stories about how influential we were in helping you make it as a big time recording artist!!
Really cool track Jody. Nice melody that builds and ebbs and keeps the suspense going throughout. Tasteful use of effects that really creates a tension and presents the mood - Something bad is happening here.
Good job bro.
Really nice track here, perfect club mix in terms of progression and tempo. Sounds good through the headphones as well as the monitors on my end.
But as you say the kick and bass needs to be pronounced and I actually disagree with Phyruis and think you have some room to punch them up a bit more if you want. But that's just my opinion.
I have to start this off by saying...Why in the H did it take this long to hear that voice ! You've been holding out on us haven't you? At least I don't recall hearing you sing on any of your other tracks. Of course I don't have the time to listen to as many tracks here lately as I used to. I will have to check out your tracks page.
Anyhow, the track is cool but to be honest I was dying to hear a bridge and a chord change that would allow more range and extension from your vocal.
I've got a feeling your going to be getting a lot of offers to collab here in the near future.
Good stuff, cant wait to hear more !

I called it texas destroyer because that's what I named the harmor synth I used for the bass ages ago xD
My naming conventions are a bit sporadic.

I totally dig the similarities to a few classic horror themes. Also love the "cha cha, ah ah's" !!! The dub elements are nicely done too, not too over the top. Great job LSD !!!

I like it bro, good mix, well produced.

Azzy mentioned the dead space there at 2:25. I also would suggest adding a few wobbles and some other elements to offset the repetiveness. Its definitely a real nice foundation here.

Very underground sounding groove with an amazing amount of layered effects and sounds. This took some time and effort.
Very good bro, I'm totally digging it !!!

But as you say the kick and bass needs to be pronounced and I actually disagree with Phyruis and think you have some room to punch them up a bit more if you want. But that's just my opinion.

Anyhow, the track is cool but to be honest I was dying to hear a bridge and a chord change that would allow more range and extension from your vocal.
I've got a feeling your going to be getting a lot of offers to collab here in the near future.
Good stuff, cant wait to hear more !
