I really Like the last part, though the strings you added in oddly faded in on the last notes of the piano, I think expanding on the last part and trying to get it into that style would be really cool to hear, but maybe even more of the top with electric sounds all over the place.
But I must say these hardcore drums really add in a lot of energy, only thing I would change is the mixing there.
I am not sure if you were planning on changing this further or keeping it like this, but you surely surprised me with the blending of these styles and I like it :)
If this doesn't win the contest it's fixed...lol, just kidding. great mix, dynamics are awesome. Listening on old Bose 2.2 speakers with a Kenwood 40watt receiver and the bass just cuts through and sounds amazing.
You can take a bow my friend
Steve
Hey cruce, thanks friend! I'm happy to be amongst the two winners with this one, as I put a bunch of time into it. Helped me show myself that my right ear wasn't permanently damage by holding a cell phone set to speaker to my ear... man that hurt. Sounds like a cool little listening setup you've got there! I do love Bose. Thank you again for your very kind comment!
Not Jazz as it's a melange of Celtic folk scale and modern minimalism (Philip Glass). But that's just the musical disection. as a listening piece it's just damn fun.
Cru
Thanks Cru. Actually I decided to go on with Fusion, since I've gotten different genre preferences. This was really abnormal for me to make in a sense that working with my partner in this track give a new sense of style. If you check out my other tracks, this one, at least to me, sounds the most different.
Love the name Aura first off. Secondly nice intro as the Pads build into the sequenced synth. Then the Bass Synths glissando back and forth. Not Till 55 seconds in do we hear the Hardcore elements hit you. Interesting work. stabs are nice before 1:50. kind of a calm before the storm from 1:50 to 2:15, then the stabs come in to build to a climax @ 3:10 I would have liked to see a bigger build up though. The synth pan flutes are a nice bridge at 3:10 and then we get back to the stabs and synth wobbles. Overall has great potential. I think IMHO you need to extreme the diffences between the breaks and the build ups.
Keep at this one it has such great potential I loved the structure of it.
Cru
I'm glad you like the name, I had finished the song and couldn't think of a fitting name for about two weeks
Bigger build ups definitely would have been great, that's something I need to work on
I feel the sentimet your family had through the piano. A playful fun song and i could see the little ones enjoying this tune.
good work. I think you acomplished what you felt!
Cru
Thanks crucethus! I'm pretty happy with this one and agree that I accomplished what I felt at that particular moment. Thanks for stopping by, take care :)!
Thanks mate, sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I've not been on the site much lately.
Thanks for dropping in and giving it a listen and a thumbs up!

Ok So I have started to sort out some ideas. (140 or 70 bpm) here is a sample of a dark remix I recently have done for Prelude. https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/152903
It was my melange of cinematic strings and vocals and I added all the rest. Love to know if this is a direction you would want to go in.
Cru
Thx for the kind words Cru! I'm a big Depeche Mode fan and I like some of Vince Clark's work after DM. Mainly Yazoo. But I never heard of this project. Thx so much for the link. Luv that track. Going to have to check out the rest of VCMG's work for sure! :)
That Guitar and that Sax this tune is sooo Saxxy! ;-)
great work. love the acoustic guitar chord structures as well. but that blues guitar is downright killer.
so cool!
Steve
Very Cool. Nice use of Re-verb, Love the solo work. But the subtle bass line and the glissando effects of that synth about 2 3rds in do it for me.
Good job Alex
Steve
Nice Intro, good percussion and pan spacing. Classic House sounds. Very Retro but well received over in this part of the world. The mixing is spot on and it builds really well. then a stiff piano and stiff strings. Bass line is good. The organ parts are phenomenal though. You just need a singer for this one. enjoyed on my end!
Cru
Love that bass line. it's restrained and yet effective. Al the nice synths are great ecoutrements. but the bass line grounds this tune. Sort of ethereal oboe like synth sounds nice and gives this such a otherworldly feel. Great work Steve!
Steve
So I am back to listen again to this exceptional piece of work. So Have you been able to convince her to continue. I understand breaks in composing as I have done so over the years as well. I wish you well my friend and peace and love in your life and hope that Corina still continues to grace us with her voice. Romanian is a branch of the Romance language that traces back to Latin and Corina is from Cornu or horn or a musical instrument that produces sound. She needs to Produce sound as it is her namesake. ;-) Maybe you can remind her of this.

hi, really glad you enjoyed this song. I am fascinated by a fusion genre where everything is possible. especially the 80's fusion style like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCCjuNDOERs
hope you like it too. Many thanks for your time, listening and nice comments - always appreciated!. Alex

Indeed I just may do that. Still exploring the city and upper gatineau myself and have yet to make it to the market.

Ahh that's good. there's so much good going on in this track. I cannot critique on this listen I just will enjoy it as a fan cos it's so freaking brilliant!

Challenge Accepted! "Barney Stinson" But Before I remix this I want to hear your thoughts on what you would want to hear in a remix understanding that my style is ridiculously eclectic and sometimes atonal. What elements do you absolutely have to hear in a remix? (This is a new Idea for me. I have to reach out and connect with the original artists to get a better feel of there work other than me just making some wild remix that fits my taste as well...I want some synergy!)
Steve
Interesting approach to remixing a song, I would say get that dark feeling into it but there isn't necessarily a sound that has to come back to it in my opinion
On the other hand electronics mostly go with upbeat kind of stuff
I think a fusion between orchestral and electronics could really work out well for this, tell me what you think
I agree with Static the intro is awesome. Ferry Terry has some awesome drum loops. I love the subtle placement of the instruments as the song builds. 1:25 is interesting percussion. Sax works well. Vocals need to be brought up a bit in the mix, guitar wacka's are nice. 3:41 sounds like a midi sax, I don't think it fits well. Until you start playing arpeggios with it, but I would mix it in the background more. Overall a fun and interesting ride you gave us, Well Done
Steve
hi Steve,
Thank you for your nice comments on the production. I'd rather say that I intentionally wanted to keep the vocals in the background... The wah-wacka's are from MrRay22 piano plugin - Im using it here also for bassline, soft rhodes in the background and soloing. I used the 'lazysnake' e-piano plugin as well to support the bassline. Agreed with keeping the solo synth lower in volume in the mix (at least at some parts). I like that though because it makes the track more dynamic and more 'fusion'.
Many thanks for listening and glad you enjoyed the music and the vibes.
