Hello Steven
Thank you so much for listening to my music and commenting. I am so glad that you share with us these warm feelings and experiences and Ill drink to that!
Best wishes, Anthony
Awesome tune mate! Come to Canada, Ontario has an insane selection of the wacky weed, even specialty drinks like jalapeno Margaritas with 10MG THC. The most open laws of any country. Now about the mixing. Here's a friendly tip. When you are about to add the compression, lower the master mix by 3db. Creates headroom that clarifies the instruments. Loudness wars mean we get ear fatigue from artificial loudness. What you want is the right balance of gain which gives you good dynamics with just the right touch of Compression. Love the tune ehh!
i will definitely hit canada in spring 25, in europe we tell us a story about the mythical growers there in canada, they transformed that plant into trees. yeah, im not really impressed with my compression either. thank you for that, i will work on that. i always mix at -3db and all my inserts are -6. i got a new bus compressor and i went overboard with it. my main problem is, i know theres is a flaw in my mixes, but i cant point exactly . that why i love lm and value your time crucethues. love from a banana
Discord thing is fine bro, i only use it for collabs, i only have the mp3 and my vocal Stems mate it was all done and mastered in the studio in Germany the girls wrote the track and the band played the nusic
Big V, Bringing the Prog, I'm Bringing the Bug Spray. I hate Locusts. Bass reminds me of Floyd's "Run like Hell" I Love the slow build of guitar treatments with a subtle than not so subtle wah. Even some Nu-metal elements in there. Dark as ever, I agree with the Tool refs. Needs a Vox that has its upper end and lower end quashed , just give that mid-range with a slight overdrive. Always a pleasure mate! Interesting ending. Fav'd
I'm not a fan of Locusts either. Or cicadas. Noisy ass bastards. That's kind of why I made this. This is the heart of Cicada season, and that's all I hear, all the time. I'm looking really freakin' forward to the end of summer, (among many other reasons), when they go the fuck away. Crickets can join 'em, too.
I think I know what you mean about the vocals. If what I'm imagining what you're trying to convey, that would sound good. Kind of like singing through a megaphone sound?
Contrary to my last tracks message, I've been toying with the idea of feeding my voice into one of those AI voice things to lay down on some of my tracks. It's just a matter of finding a good one that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg in subscription fees, or free ones that don't absolutely suck. We'll see I guess.
Take care, Steve.
Aaron
Big Stilton is gonna be pissed at yah mate!
Love the groove you created, nice electro-clash vs step elements, but the vox mix takes the cheese! I'll see myself out!
Thank you :D Yes it is the saddest isnt it lol. Not everyone can hit those D notes well though and especially the B flats. So im more than feeling to transpose it to fit the vocalist. I'd do it myself but i feel like this track needs a females voice in my opinion and also in its current state its a bit outside my natural range.
Hey Steven, thanks mate - that's my improv guitar lead (that a friend thought was harmonica) that you are referring too - I was happy with that - thanks for the warm comment
thankyou Steven, its great to see you around, in your breaks from the loop, lots of talented artists and producers have linked with me, guided me taught me, i have a lot of work as their vocalist in my profiles, just like you Doc' you seen something raw 4 years ago maybe, its now starting to show, this is a perfect example of what you can achieve, if you try. all the work is studio produced in Devon and Germany, try this one Manuela and the girls asked me to collaborate, its why i done this for Manuela too, and the fact we've built a good friendship. thanks again, your another of my closest mate, you know the meaning of friends when you need 'em https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/248312/
Hey Mate. This is awesomely produced. I love how you FXed the Vox. I will be watching the match Tommorow, no offense to Rita, but lets kick some dutch arse ehh?
hi Cru, thanks for the feedback, i have the master and vocal master saved as presets from this, i was really happy with it myself, and im so ready for the match, it'll be a tough old game, there will be a great atmosphere, 30+ thousand England fans and anticipated 100.000 Dutch, England need to win its expected by us, we haven't played well yet, the countries up for it, but it'll be squeaky bum :))
Mate, I don't care what anyone else has suggested for you as the way you should do Trance. This is epic. This might be the most creative soulful trance (Chill) tune you have ever made. The mixing is on point, I was captivated by the opening salvo. Chefs Kiss! You should be very, very proud of what you have made. Holding out that sub-bass at the end is genius as well. Fav'd and downloaded it. I immediately thought of this new artist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTP-H2c9MNQ
I haven't heard anything this creative and compelling Since Roxy Music's premiere album. What you just made is the future, and not the nostalgic past of trance. Bravo!
Thanks for the high praise, Steve! You really were the impetus for the track. Would have been very disappointing if you hated it! :)
I will check out the new artist you referenced. You must spend a reasonable amount of time listening, not just making music. You seem to know about a lot more contemporary artists in a lot more genres. I probably should do more listening as well, although it's great to have your guidance.
Love that Intro, Smoothly Psychedelic. Well done tune I enjoyed my listen. Tracktion, I remember playing around with that DAW in Linux a few years back, Good work.
Very Cool Mate, BTW Congrats on beating Serbia in the Euros. Your getting some smoother controls over your voice. You are able to sustain without vibrato which is not easy to do. Keep on Brother!
thanks for the listen cru, it was a nervous watch against Serbia. we always start shit, we have the talent but do they have the nerve, the opening 30 minutes was positive but then we resorted to same old same old sitting deep and trying to defend a lead instead of going for the throat, Trent Alexander didn't work in midfield and Foden was shit none existent, im a massive footie fan im 58, i was 3 months old last time we won anything,
and yeah my vocals are improving . thanks for the positive comments Steven its always appreciated
Steve: thanks so much for connecting me with the music of Chicane. You are right, I really do like Trance a lot, but I really only have a superficial knowledge about it, frankly. Had never heard of Chicane or the track, Saltwater. Just spend a couple of hours learning about him and listening to his music. Definitely my kind of music for sure. Is (almost) inspiring me to try once again to make a Trance track worth listening to.
HaHa..well my old friend, my ears are half shot and my fingers are failing but guess I am addicted as I can`t seem to quit. Great to hear from you. Be over to check out what you have been up to shortly. Cheers. Ed
Hey Mykael, I see that you are making, not completely Country, but I find some similarities with (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) Roxy Music. Here is an album cut that this song reminded me a bit of the style you are heading toward, though this has that late seventies sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ok6srI_gLY&list=PLfGibfZATlGq3R7Wyynsvrnqql4Wxjn4P&index=4
Thanks so much for stopping by a listening to my very rough track. I listened to that Roxy Music track and I see what you mean. I have never heard it before, I really dig it. Be Well!
Thanks Steve. You are right. Need more strings, and French horns, and flutes and wah wah chunky-chunk rhythm guitar. Going to give that some thought. Thanks for the links. I am enjoying where you took me with them.
Lovely intro, and then the meat of the song comes in. In My Day job, I am trying to grasp how to introduce AI as a useful tool for your business needs. So far I love the Editing functions in Word, not convinced that I can create something new in Power Automate, but it does a great job repairing. I have created a few bots in Copilot Studio that seem to get dumber, not smarter. So all is not doom and gloom Cylons or Skynet taking over the world. That Guitar solo underneath after 4:00 is awesome BTW. I want this as the music for my slideshow at my funeral. (Dark thought). Great song Mate, good to hear you on this lovely nihilistic space you have created. Mr. C. certainly sounds like an evil character in a Bond movie who counters Bond by Drinking White Negronis and has an eye patch (I do not in real life have an eye patch).
As with anything that's ever been invented or developed, it has it's pros and cons. And since the Valvedriver aesthetic is a dark and foreboding one, I chose to highlight the dysptopian overlord sci-fi angle. Personally, I do believe that there are a lot of good uses for AI. I'm not familiar with the things you mentioned, but from an artists standpoint, AI art is abso-f'ing-lutely awesome! As long as it's labeled as such. I have played with some of it for my own entertainment. I've even used it for inspiration for some of my own paintings/drawings.
"...and has an eye patch (I do not in real life have an eye patch)."
I say get one. I don't believe it's written anywhere that a fella can't just get an eyepatch. I mean, Willy Wonka didn't need a cane... Just sayin'.
The Bass is killer on this one Mate! I am a huge Heaven 17 fan. I know they did a few Remixes for ( We don't need this) Fascist Groove thing back in the late nineties. I am reading Electronically Yours Part One from Martyn Ware as we speak. I would love to hear what you bring to the table with that tune. Great job Mate!
Yes, I don't get a commitment to do the number. I think it's already stuck with the sub labels that manage their rights here. But I don't want to do it without permission of some kind. I think for use only at LM I could try and do it. Thanks for listening.
