on God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen remix by Livingsoulsdie
Well as you know i'm not a fan of Christmas but this is solid. I don't have a clue how you make those type of sounds so kudos for your synth work. This is a really enjoyable track and probably the best xmas song I've ever heard. I like the way it swings from dubstep to trance.
This is a very clever track and I like it.

on DJ The Observer -- Killed by AciD RaiN -- by djtheobserver01
I was wondering what had happened to you. I haven't seen you post anything for a while. Anyway, i'm digging the hard vibe of this. The off beat bass has some weird filter effect on it which keeps it interesting and the vocal samples are nice. I could be in a nightclub tripping my face off listening to this and it would most definitely work. I'd like to hear a bit more going on in the hi hat department but other than that I've got no complaints. This is drop a pill and then have it kind of music so well done for pulling that off.
Always like your stuff and if you wanna try and collab i'd be up for that.
Take it easy.

Yo Yo FR ,

Well ive been very busy with some other "important" things....
Thank you so much for your comment and for listening to my track!

I know what you mean, I had some driving claps
but it seems like that fall away..
I'm also still looking for a nice snare rhythm because that is totally not in..
This was a first try-out
so the track is not quite ready ...
but I liked it so much that I couldn't wait to upload it ...

Thanks for your ideas and it will help me ....

Greetzz !

Indian techno? I thought it sounded a bit melodic to call it techno but now it's kicked off I can see what you mean. This is f**king cool mate. There's loads of big sounds going on, the effects are excellent and it kind of reminds me of something from the wipeout game. You have some good ideas and I wasn't sure about the piano bit to begin with but it leads nicely to the outro.
Good ideas.

on Midnight In Ibiza-Unmastered Version by 15ludwicke
Nice riff. I'm not noticing any clipping on my headphones so i'd say the mix is alright. I like the choice of instruments and the arrangement. The melody is good and you've got the right drops in all the right places.
I enjoyed listening to this track.

on Dreaming about ya by ShurelyTemper
Yeah this sounds like something from the late 90's and I like those flavours. Like the harmonising and the whip crack sound. It's well layered with a good progression.
Nice pad sounds in the drop and nicely back in with the main riff.
Good track.

on Update3 Dance With You Ft Noemi by SeriouslyJoking
This is pretty funky. For some reason it reminds me a little of U2 just with a breakbeat behind it instead of natural drums. Cool melody. I thought it was really going to take off when that vocal came in but then it just stopped.
It's a nice intro so you should keep going with it.
FR
SeriouslyJoking
SeriouslyJoking replied 5th Dec 2014 - 10 years ago
Hi FR!
So I finally managed to create some breakbeat kind of drums? Without even aiming too...well, I'll take that as a bonus. =D
Guessing the guitar gives it some U2 flavour, actually it's too much guitar, it needs some more instruments to lift off so I'm going to work on that and hopefully come up with a finished song in the end.

Thanks for listening!
Cheers/ SJ =)

on New World - ft RomyHarmony by MegaTone
I always like Romy's vocals so I had a feeling i'd like this and guess what? I do!! The drum work is excellent and the synths are having it when the track gets going. I've not heard a decent d&b tune on here for a while so this is nice and refreshing.
Thumbs up!!!

on Stay featuring Farisha Haque by RichieWinn
beautiful arrangement as per always. You've really brought that vocal to life with your choice of instruments. This sounds like a real radio friendly piece of music with everything slotting into place nicely.
I'm always a little jealous of your talents Richie. You should be making dollars out of your music rather than giving it away.
Definitely a FAV.

Hi FR

Good to see you here. Thank you so much for your comments. Much appreciated.

As far as making dollars from music is concerned all I can say is my overnight success continues unabated! It began in 1964 with my first band and not much has really changed in the intervening years! I still love playing live, writing, recording and producing. I'm just very rewarded when I get comments like yours. Thank you.

Sounding cool R.P.S. That opening bassline is sweet. What did you do that with? Anyway, digging the rhythm of this and the samples are nice as well.
Nice electro type bassline you've done for the second part and nicely back in with the original lick.
I like the way it keeps chopping and changing. It keeps the tune interesting.
I think this deserves a fav.

You've done a grand job with this. The piano, the pads and the ambience are superb and then when the synth bass comes in it takes it to a new level.
It's pretty epic at just under nine minutes and this is exactly what I needed to chill me out at the end of a long day.
Cheers for that.

Thought i'd home in on this one as I always seem to like your tracks. Sounding good so far, got a real club feel to it which is what we like. Nice piano lick followed by some fat ass bass. I always like the way you layer your stuff. One sound compliments the next beautifully and the arrangement is splendid. Reminds me a little of John "00" Flemmings stuff. A nice progressive builder.

on 6 short experimental ambient tracks by promenade2239
I always find ambient stuff really hard to make. It's difficult to get the sounds in the right places and keep it sounding natural so kudos for creating this spooky atmosphere. The first one would make a good back drop for a creepy horror movie scene. The second one's just started now and it has more of a spacey kind of atmosphere to it with that laser noise thing. It actually reminds me of some of Pink Floyds early stuff from a saucer full of secrets.
Track 3 now and we start off with yet more trippy atmospheres with delays and reverbs. I'm not sure but I think track four has just started. You create some really good soundscapes with interesting sounds. Really dark pads and nice explosion sounds going on, this ones got me thinking of the terminator because of the dark machine type noises and glitch sounds. It's pretty darn creepy.
Next track up and interesting use of the Rhodes in this one. What I like is that even though the tracks are all the same style it's easy to pick out one from the other as they all sound different. On to the final piece now and there's some great wailing guitars and feedback going on. You've proved with this track that you're good at coming up with soundscapes and it was definitely fun to listen to.

thanks a lot FreeRadical!
I created almost all the sounds here using free vst's and 'Kontakt' instruments for metallic elements. I thought it would be really difficult to program and automate stuff to get the results like this actually but I played it all from the keyboard in a real time so in a sense it is just an improvised music.
The idea here was to make some corresponding sounds and create different musical 'events' happening at the same time on different levels inside each piece - a kind of a 'polyphonic' music. Not really a horror or comedy - I am not too much interested in that 'illustrative' aspect so far. Anyway it is really good to know that this music can trigger some concrete images.
Thank you again for your time and nice words FR- I really appreciate that. Alex

on untitled suite by promenade2239
sounding really good. I like your laid back style. The beats and percussion are excellent. As is the guitar. It's got a real authentic live feel to it and it's hard to believe that this is all done with virtual instruments. Reminds me a little of the doors. Nice break of silence and into the second part which has some nice glitchy drumming going on and some nice soloing. The third piece has a more psychadelic kind of feel to it with lots of nice backgrounds going on. Then we have the ambient grand finale which is very trippy.
This is a pretty epic tune but if i had to pick one i'd say part two was my favorite.
I enjoyed listening to this track.

promenade2239 replied 19th Nov 2014 - 10 years ago
thanks a lot. this is indeed a bit unusual compilation: almost all 4 tracks are driven by my keyboard playing, even when I input pads. There's many loops used in the first one which makes it really fusion jazz/rock. Glad you liked the second track - there's no loops here, just a piece made entirely from scratch over simple chord progression. I used MrRay22 free e piano plugin for soloing (also on the first track) and added many effects to create ilusion of the live jam session. The solo was played real time of course but needed some adjustments afterwards to correspond better with the rest which is always possible when working with midi sequences. 2 last ambient tracks are probably my best takes so far on the genre - the inspiration was music from Robert Rich and Steve Roach.
Thanks again for your time and nice comment. I appreciate that. Alex

on in the game -like a boss- looperman xxl by failingtimes
Nice intro and great arpegio with some ace siren effects. Like the way it rolls into the breakbeat (i was expecting it to be trance from the intro) Nice acidic sounds and complextro type sounds. The breakdown is pretty twisted and reminds me of the borg from startreck with all those robot noises and crazy stretches/pitch bends etc............
Now it's all gone a bit dubstepish and sounds really dark.
As always i really enjoyed listening to this track.

Sounding good from here. The mixture of instruments is excellent. It's got an 80's kind of vibe which i like and it's intense. Love the melody and all the harmonising. Once again you've showed your skills as a force to be reckoned with. This was truly a pleasure to listen to.

Thanks ....FR.

The only Identity factor of the 80's is the Big distorted Guitar, that's all...
And I only used it because it fit the bill, Danke's track made it possible
to make it work...
I just played the pattern chord wise, that he had playing on the keys that's
what Music is, you go with the flow or where it leads you...
Not defy the harmonic structure but enhance it...

Thanks again for stopping, we are glad you enjoyed it...

Peace...TG.
