on ITS YOU by Carrol
This revised version is sounding slick. The funk is on fire and I like what you've done with the panning and vocals. This is nice and easy on my hangover as well which is a bonus.
I'm really glad I dropped by now.

The intro reminded me a little of some retro video game or something. Then you introduced that big growly synth and took it to another level. Like the samples as well.
This track is hot!!!

There's nothing wrong with the track. It's just slow around here at the moment. It took me days to get a first comment on my latest track so don't let it get you down. This track is really good. The bass is pounding, the melody is good and the samples are nice as well. It's got nice drops, build ups and plenty of power.
I dig it.

This is something a little different. The choir sound is great and there's plenty of atmosphere. Dig the big fat orchestral drums as well. Nicely in with the guitar and just on the whole a great soundtrack.
This is an enjoyable piece.

Nice slow progressive build up which goes into a killer trance riff. This is some proper hands in the air trance and i'm liking what i'm hearing.
Great drop and then nicely in with the lead. This is very professionally done.

on industrial sleigh ride by DanGoldstein
Well I've already commented on this but who says we can't go twice? Love what you've done with the drums, panning and reverbs. Have you updated this? It sounds different or maybe it's just me. Reminds me a little of orbital. Love the minor key chord structures, it sounds pretty twisted.
Every time I listen to your stuff I think you've improved and this is no exception. There's loads going on, the melody is weird but it works and I really like it.

i'm very glad you came back FR. Yea - it's an update. still some spaces to fill in here and there. I do feel more control over the mixing these days and it means a lot that you notice improvement from track to track. I'm pretty happy with the perc mix. I just feel it is the wrong set. Thanks again.
FreeRadical
I always like your stuff because it reminds me of my clubbing days where my mentality was "the harder the better" dig the pump the vibe sample and I like the way it builds into a more trancy vibe. Where did you get that sample from? I like it. In fact I like the whole track. It's got a real old school techno vibe to it and I love a bit of old school.

This is sounding brilliant mate. The melody is excellent and you've built around it beautifully with the soloing. The vocal sits perfectly with the track and the mixdown is spot on. It's a shame it's only about three minutes because this groove could have just kept going and going.

Storming effort! The way you've layered the vocal is bang on the money and you've built around it with some solid grooves. I especially like that fat sounding bassline. Not sure i'd class it as house as it's down tempo enough to be chill out. Not that that takes anything away from the track.
A real solid tune.

Love the big ambient intro. You're really good at creating soundscapes that just flow together seamlessly. Now we got the drums coming in so I can now hear tumbleweeds influence. You both work really well together. This has a kind of pink Floyd vibe to it and it all works really well.
I really like the piped sounds in this and that subtle vocal is a nice touch as well.
It's pretty epic at just under 9 minutes but you carry it through well and keep it interesting throughout.
Really nice piece Orlando.

Hey Shawn, I think this is the first time I've ever seen you post a track as opposed to a pella so I thought i'd tune in. Always rate your lyrical skills so I figured I'd like this. You've kept the beat pretty simple but I like what you've done with the sampling. The "break it down, break it down" thing is ace and your lyrical skills shine through here. If you want to collab sometime i'm well up for it because you sound cool.
Cheers for the listen.

Hey Evan, Thought i'd come and check out your latest offering because A: Your good and B: I wanted to have a bitch about that MosRequest dude. I thought your comments were bang on the money and he IS an arrogant a-hole who has no right to redistribute big fish loop packs. Anyway, enjoying this mate, the guitar playing is solid and the drum patterns were superb. I'm having to play it again because it's only a short track and I was too busy bitching about matey. If I were to change anything i'd bring the beat up a notch but that's only because my music is just basically beats. The playing is great and there's not a note off beat so I reckon that this is a damn good piece.

Mr. Radical, we'd probably get along if we knew each other. I feel there are probably a few members on here that do not like me very much because of instances like this with Mr. MosReQuest. I'm SURE you know, but there were other challenges up as well in the forums and I say nothing in them because everyone is being cool with each other. Mosrequest was demeaning to everyone in his instructions, as well as secretive. I really only want to call shenanigans when someone is being pompous or arrogant. There was a guy on here about a month ago named Rob1111, and he asked for a collaboration in the forums. Cool, totally kosher and encouraged. Nobody replied. He then said, "Surely you want to work with a LIVING LEGEND, Come on people!" I informed him that he was not a legend. Things went like this here today, but Rob1111 was apparently abusive towards Looperman himself, and was removed swiftly and with extreme prejudice. I don't want to be a dick, and I don't want to ever be abusive, but I do feel that when someone shows up and starts throwing make-believe weight around, someone needs to call them on their bullshit and grandiosity.

Anyway, glad you liked this track. Just bought a new guitar on black Friday and this was unplanned and really just several riffs that came about. I plan to make things a little less busy in the future.

Take care, and good lookin out!

Evan

Great piano melody and nice work with the hats as well. This is sounding really great and when the sub bass comes in it compliments the piano beautifully. If you could find a pella to fit over the top of it that would just be the icing on the cake.

Nice old school hip hop vibes with some great vinyl crackles to go with it. This reminds me of stuff from way back and you've layered that vocal really well. Did you get that vocal from here? Sounds really cool and works with the music which in its self is really on point. Like those scratching effects as well. Nice to hear you trying something a little different and it works.

I love these laid back grooves that you throw together. They always chill me right out and this is no exception. Love what you've done with those leads. Sounds really groovy. The other thing that impresses me is our upload rate. You seem to manage to write a new tune almost every day which is a feat in it's self.
Nice jazzy vibes here.

thanks a lot FreeRadical.
I am trying currently to discover and explore even more the funk keyboard playing so I keep practise some riffs. Probably this is the stuff I was going for a quite a long time including many years of total lack of creativity.
I am really happy you enjoyed this music - I was trying to upload this additional bonus track that I made yesterday a couple of times so now it is also visible as a waveform on this site.

Yes, I think the sound-image on the second track is a bit 'freezing' and 'cold' as you mentioned but maybe it's just simply my keyboard playing - I am actually a classical trained keyboardist so it obviously affects my productions.

Thanks again for some very nice words. Alex

on Contradiction by RealProblemShuckers
I like it so far. It's got a sort of fidget house groove for the opening then it goes into more of a big room kind of sound. That bassline is pretty messed up but it works and then the tune really gets going. Like the progression of the piece and the way you've added variety to keep it interesting.
This is a good piece of dance music.

on Honey Mango Heaven by StaticNomad
I was going to say the same thing as Valvedriver. Everything seems to have dropped out round here just lately. We've got almost a million members but they all seem to just log in, snatch loops and bugger off so I wouldn't take it personally.
Anyway, the track's sounding good. The intro was kind of orbitalesque (there I made up a word) Now i'm hearing a nice combo of guitars and pads with some great bendy basslines. It's getting my head nodding and it's only nine o'clock in the morning. You must spend a lot of time programming those drum variations as there's a lot of variety going on back there as there is with everything else. Nice keyboard sounds and good tempo changes which seems to be a trademark of yours. Now we're going up tempo then were going down. I always think your stuff is really clever and this piece is no exception. Love the synth that comes in around the 8:30 mark and the change in the bassline. Now it's all gone a bit acidic and mental which is something I wasn't expecting. This is right up my street and I would have downloaded it and illegally put it up on my you tube channel (if I had one)
Good stuff Nomad.

Word up, FreeRad.

I think I’m going to try to contact all those million Loopermembers (apart from your good self) and get them to review one of your tracks. If I can get just 1 in 10, I will swamp you and keep you typing replies into your old age. Even 100,000 copied and pasted replies would take quite a while.

Yes, lots for a free radical such as yourself to like here – especially the faster trance stuff. Not sure you’ve really made up Orbitalesque. You can add the –esque suffix to loads of words if you want.

Maybe people will one day come to say Nomadesque or Static Nomadic to describe sounds/combinations reminiscent of some of mine. Or maybe they won’t as that isn’t actually my artist name (Endless Rotary), just my name on this site.

9am head nodding is good.

Yes, loads of time spent on the drums, which I use a great deal to drive changes in the track and get me to play instruments in a different way. I’m quite the drum/groove obsessive so really need good, interesting grooves to play well.

“good tempo changes which seems to be a trademark of yours”

Yes, my trademark, so to speak, is mid tempo grooves (80-95 BPM) that flip to double time (160-190) though I often keep the other instruments playing at their original tempo so it’s just double time drums. One reason I do this is just because good riffs sound good backed by slow or fast drums and also because my stuff is almost all flat tempo in the sequencer so this adds more tempo variety. But I, sadly, don’t do gradual tempo changes due to DAW limitations. So, now slowing down or speeding up.

I made a conscious choice not to do any tempo doubling/halving in my track Bright Side Of The Sun. Not something I want to do in every track.

“I always think your stuff is really clever”

Thanks. It kind of has to be due to the odd and sort of lazy way I work. I don’t properly compose these pieces but jam away until things take some shape. So, I’m forever trimming little bits here and there and having to force transitions to work. When I play over the different looped sections, I often have no idea where they’re going so have to use a bit of ingenuity to get pleasant-sounding transitions. I often use drum hits to mask awkward edits or audio pops etc.

Yes, synth at 8:30 I think is the trance one. Modified synth patch is called ‘Trance Pluck’. Emotive sound but not one I’ve ever used before.

“a bit acidic and mental which is something I wasn't expecting.”

Yes, not sure it really fits this track and would perhaps be better suited to one of my more badass tracks. But it’s kind of fun and indeed right up your dance music street.

Could have gone on for way longer with this one but managed to keep it just under 11 mins so can squeeze it on the site as a crystal clear, audiophile’s wet dream of 128K MP3.

Thanks, FreeRad.

Well I wasn't sure about the intro but once it gets going it's pretty good. Like the structure of the tune and what you've done with the vocal although the bass is a little in your face. Perhaps drop some of the low end down a bit and turn the vocal up a notch. Other than that I enjoyed the track.
