I am often moved by music in many different ways, but seldom am I moved to the extent I was when I listened to this Patricia. This is so beautiful in so many different ways that words fail me now.

I do know that you have transformed a simple piano piece into something very special. I am officially retiring the original track, so my apologies to any who try to follow the link to my track listing.

You are amazing. All I can do is applaud your genius. Thanks for sharing your amazing gifts. I hope all is well.

Sometimes things can get cloudy, but there's one thing for sure and that is EVERYONE needs encouragement.

When I heard this I IMMEDIATELY DLd it and began working on it! I put aside the project I was working on and didn't even write down one word, they all just came to me!

That's when you know something is meant to be!!!

I am not the only one who is amazing! Your work speaks volumes on its own. Thanks a bunch Mr. Bear! This one was all my pleasure :-)

Well, I've been listening to some chilled music and enjoying my morning coffee, but now the caffeine is kicking in and I need something to go with it.....and this song is perfect for that.

Great driving beat that just sweeps the listener along for the ride. Production is stellar as usual.

A great way to get the pulse rate up my friend. Well done.

Thanks Bear, I'm just glad it didn't go for another round of Zero reviews and Zero downloads like it did when i first uploaded it. It did sound like c**p when i played it back again though. The LFO's were so harsh it sounded a bit like one of those old ferric oxide tapes when they got old and worn out lol.
It's funny you should turn up now as i found myself staring at the "get on the bus" rar file earlier and thinking "I was going to have a go at that wasn't i?" tsk tsk! Perhaps now would be a good time to start huh?
Thanks for dropping by and checking out this latest offering.

Absolutely beautiful. I have always loved the haunting sound of the Native American flutes and this piece shows why. You are highly skilled and it shows in this piece.

Thanks for the download as well. It will be a great addition to my IPod.

Fantastic work.

You're welcome! I appreciate your positive comments. I did modify the mp3 slightly and uploaded the edit so if you haven't gotten the most recent version you may want the new one, which is a little less dissonant toward the end.

Again, thanks for the track. (Hint, hint: the intervals on the 12-tone "circle of fifths" for a Native Style flute are 32232.)

Another stellar effort my friend. I really liked the section with the "rock guitar chugs" hit :) Very nice and a great way to start the day. And as always, superb bass line anchoring things.

Hey Neil, this one needs to be tagged "must listen with headphones"...the mix is stellar. The bass line really is the glue that holds this all together. Outstanding effort my friend. I really enjoyed this one.

Ahhh, it is nice to hear some of that Pink Floyd on steroids once again :) Looks like all the time away has cleared the cobwebs and created some space for some new material. I agree with Dave, a little additional bass and this one would be spectacular. As always, it is great to hear your work. I hope you have been well.

Christ, I need to clarify my statement, "your "house" tracks are the only ones I will listen to....the rest just don't cut it."

I listen to all of your music, not just your house tracks, and all of your music makes the "cut" :) I will only listen to the house genre on your profile because most house music by other people loses something for me in translation.

So I guess I am saying I love your work and am a fan...hahaha. I'm an idiot :)

HAHA! It's ok, I understood what you meant first time round, but I can see how a less egotistical person than myself could have misread the praise for criticism lol.. ;D

But to answer the first post:

You're very kind to say I'm ready for the big time, I won't lie - it is a secret ambition that I harbour, who knows, maybe one day eh? For someone who doesn't really listen to this kinda stuff to say those things has added weight in my opinion :)

Thanks a lot Bear!

Ciao for now o/

I hope you know your "house" tracks are the only ones I will listen to....the rest just don't cut it. So, that probably would mean that you are ready for prime time. If you can convert me, you can convert just about anyone.

I'm a house noob, but this one has all of the right elements sitting in all of the right places, an absolute A+ on the production side of things.

Bravo maestro. Freaking awesome. Good to see you back.

Like Pat, I had a bit of a difficult time understanding the vox, but I think it adds to the psychedelic feel of the track. I'm from that generation and this brought back memories of laying around the dorm room and listening to Led Zeppelin. Outstanding effort. Your bass work is stellar.

A tip of the hat to all involved.

Tower, this is really an amazing job....your arranging skills are pretty remarkable. They show a real genius. Thanks for putting those loops to great use. Your efforts combined with Patricia's vocal work provide an absolutely amazing piece of art. As has been mentioned before, the build is really special.

Love that acoustic intro....like you were singing along with the Eagles....but then it shifts gears and it's like SRV just sat down and decided to play along with you two :)

Definitely a great way to start my day, with two of my most favorite artists. I'm telling you, you guys need to take this show on the road. Everything about this one is just flawless. It is always a pleasure to hear your wonderful voice accompanied by such an accomplished musician.

Beautiful work Patricia and Richie. You say, "Tell me what's wrong?" On this song, absolutely nothing....it is PERFECT.

An accomplished musician Richie is, he's such a perfectionist, so patient and professional, a vocalist can't ask for much more than that.

Thank you Mr. Bear!!!!

Hey FR,

Very nicely done. When you combine the piano skills of Pedro and the fret work of Allen with your ability to arrange and produce, well you have a recipe for success. This is a wonderful display of Allen's amazing abilities. Wonderful effort and a great way to start my day.

Great music to blast on the Bus.

Thanks Bear, This was great fun to do. I love having a bit of a mash up to see what happens. Sometimes it comes out bloody awful but every now and again it works. As hannibal smith says "I love it when a plan comes together"
I'm glad this got your day off to a good start.
Thanks for giving up some of your time to play this track.

Hey Coney, nice to have you back in the house even if it is only for a day or two. I like the way you come in quietly, drop an incredible track like this one, and then go back to life, haha.

Jesus bro, this is as smooth as soft serve (I love ice cream, hehe). Anyway, absolutely amazing. Mix is crisp and it has your signature on it....like getting a Mercedes every time and never having to worry about it. A great listen sir.

on Apple Orchard by visionarysoundsystem
So VSS, I am on a bit of a trip seeking enlightenment on this genre known as "house" (per Wonki's suggestion). I think the thing I find most appealing about it is the percussive nature of things (now that's an epiphany, hahaha).

I especially liked the percussion in your song....it's so good, you could almost eliminate the other stuff and just have a drum track....but then it would be drum and bass (minus the bass) if you did that....

so as you can see, I still haven't figured any of this out yet. But I do know I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. The mix seems to be spot on as well. I am off now to continue my quest. I hope all is well.

Hey Bear my friend. All is well in the world of Vis thanx, as I hope it is in the world of Bear ? Thanx for the lovely review. House, for me, is a great genre to work in. You can be as diverse, minimilist or over-the-top as your aural imagination wants. The 4 to the floor is the driving feeling behind house but the beauty is you can weave so much around that basic rhythm. Sometimes with house I will have loads of various drum loops, percussion, single shots and and drum based effects running through the track to try and create a rhythm that drives the track. It's great fun to create that vibe and always pleases me greatly. I'm hoping you will weave your magic on a Bear inspired house track soon ? Anyhows thanx again for taking time to stop by and listen & review mate.

on Andrew Cole Dead Roses by Mahloo13
So, I listened to this one on my computer speakers a few times, then on the monitors, then decided to put on the high priced headphones and I have to tell you Malu, the space in this mix is unbelievable. It is so nice to sit and hear ALL of the instruments, each one crystal clear and each one occupying its own space.

I especially like the little bit of echo I hear on the female vocals (at least I think it's an echo/delay of some kind)....it gives this a 3D effect for sure. I have a suspicion that this one if listened to on a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system would be really spectacular.

My friend, there is a reason why you are considered the top audio guy on this site, and this song illustrates exactly why. Kudos to the performers, but a huge tip of the hat to you for a job extremely well done. I'm not sure what plugins you are testing, but I can say that in the hands of an expert like you, the results are nothing short of spectacular.

Mahloo13 replied 18th Apr 2012 - 13 years ago
Thank you Barry for all the compliments!

I did add echo to both vocals, which normally get's automated but since I've only spent a couple of hours to get this going some things slipped.

That type of delay is very wide...wider than a simple stereo delay and it's achieved by using 2 mono delays feeding each other.

The mix is stereo so I'm not so sure about the 5.1 option.

The plugin is a console emulation and I like it very much especially on such material...now if only I'd live in Nashville.

Thank you once again for the words and the support.

I'm pretty sure this is you on the drums....man, you are so good, haha. One thing the Loop is lacking is talented drummers. The other thing I like about this tune is the brass. I'm an old trombone player from way back and I would have loved to play along on this one. Hat's off on a great track. And a huge thanks for the download. Straight to my "Driving to Las Vegas" playlist on the IPod. Well done.

Man, I have to agree with Ed, "holy s**t Richie" this is awesome!!!! I think what this tune illustrates is your incredible knowledge and talent. I'm pretty sure Stephanie never figured her vocals would fit into a blues progression, but man did they ever fit. WOW!!! The instrumentation is soooo good! This song is as good as anything on the radio today.

I'll shut up now and hit the play button again. Oh, thanks so much for the download. And a tip of the hat to Stephanie for her great vocal work.

My friend, I listened to the original track on Steph's profile and I have to say your version is in another league altogether. This is probably what she had in mind when she did the vox to the other track. This one is top shelf material and definitely ready for prime time.

Now this is nice, it's definitely a modern take on the Delta blues. If you have ever spent much time in the deep south of the US, you could hear something similar to this one....

It put a huge smile on my face. I like the way you gave Patricia's vocals room to "breathe." Very, very nice.

Since I'm a huge blues fan, I'll take advantage of your generosity and download this one for later. Thanks for that and again, really well done.

Thanx for such a positive reveiw Bear my friend. I enjoyed working on this track and am very happy with the outcome. Patricia's vocals are a delight to work with and it's amazing that she shares her huge talent with us Loopers. Without her 'pella this track would not have come into existence. I'm glad you have downloaded, thats a huge compliment for me mate. Thanx again for stopping by, listening & reveiwing.

on Silent Moon featuring Romy Harmony by FreeRadical
So I have this one cranked up and my wife walks into my studio and says, "Who's that?" I answer "Free Radical." She leaves the room. She comes back in about a minute later and says, "I like it." I say, "I do too." She leaves again for another minute then comes back and says, "Who's the singer?" I say, "I have no clue." She says, "I thought you said it was Free Radical." I say, "It is but he isn't singing." She says, "What's he doing." I say, "Well he composed the music, played the different parts and then added the vox." She says, "Oh, well he's very good." I say, "Yes, he is." She says, "Tell him to tell the singer she is very good too."

Man, I love my wife, hahaha. Great job brother.
