Hey Richie, Man... You are one creative person and super good at it! Something about your music reaches inside my brain and gets me thinking way too much then the foot starts tapping, head starts nodding, then what ya know, I'm liking the song for more plays. Listening to your very interesting music makes me inspired. Good work here and I thought you gave D.V. words a real good support. Keep up the great music Richie. You make listening fun! Have a good 1, Peace.

Hi DJG

Great comments - very rewarding for me. Thank you. Yes, my prime function always is to give the vocals the support they deserve so thanks for mentioning that. I try my very best every time I embark on a song and it so good to know my efforts are appreciated. If it made your foot tap and your head nod then it's "job done" for me!

Thanks for stopping by and posting comments - appreciate it.

Hey Richie. What's up again. The one thing I love about your mixes is that you don't mix it down to hot. Very easy on the ears. I've heard some so called professional mixes on the radio, and some were so hot on levels in parts of the song that it just killed the whole song.

Really disappointing especially if you liked the song. If I would to ever get a CD mastered, I would tell the master-er to make it sound good and not be concerned about how loud they could make it.

Awesome track Richie. You have what they called golden ears. I love the solo at 1:45. This tune deserves to be on the radio. I'm a big fan now. Peace man

Hey Dachopdocta

How's it going? I don't know if you have read it but there is a very interesting blog running at the moment regarding mixing and mastering without making tracks too loud. I am not fan of compressing the life out of my tracks and like to have some dynamic range whenever possible. Your comments about being "not too hot" and "easy on the ears" I take as great compliments - thank you.

Glad you liked the track and thanks very much for stopping by to listen and post comments. Much appreciated.

Hey Richie, not sure how I missed this one. This is another great collaboration between you and a great singer. Derek has a fantastic voice and your treatment of his vocals is outstanding. Your musicianship is just jaw dropping, especially your guitar work.

Another hit my friend, but that is to be expected when coming to visit your part of the world. If I had ten thumbs, I would have all of them pointing up on this one :)

Bravo.

Hey Bear

Always good to hear from you and thanks for the great comments. Yes, Derek is exceptional and it is a pleasure working with such good vocals. As you can see from his comments below he found it quite a revelation listening to "real" guitar on one of his tracks. Ah these young kids eh?

Thanks for the thumbs up (all ten of them).

wow....great job on this one Richie...and as you say the vocals have the power (excellent lyrics & delivery)..like the sound you are getting from your acoustic too...that is something I just have`nt been able to get right in spite of having a couple of decent mics & lots of direct-in options...I`m using a 1990 Tak (341c) that has been played a lot ...sounds decent di`d through a sound system or acoustic amp, but is just real uneven when I`m looking for a natural mic`d sound...anyway...I`m going on a bit....Everything in this one fits like a glove around the vocals ..just as it should when done by a pro....super piece of work....Ed

Hi Ed

Thanks very much for the comments and taking the time to listen. Appreciated. My acoustic on this is my Ovation Celebrity direct in to the desk and with just a little compression. It has active EQ and I always make sure the little 9v battery is new before recording - it makes a difference.

Derek Vickers has an amazing voice and great lyrics. It was a lot of fun putting this track together. Glad you enjoyed it.

Hey there to you too MIM4E

Always really good to hear from you and thanks for the comments. Sometimes thinks happen without you noticing and the ending came about when I had left the strings running over by a couple of bars quite by accident. I snipped a bit of the "scream" from the intro and that was that. It's supposed to represent his "angst" at being his own worst enemy!! A bit of fun too!

Glad you liked it.

Great pop track Richie. Derek has a super voice for this sort of thing. Production is very crisp and reminds me a little of 80's pop. Excellent job!

Work, very original and well done. I already composed with the voice of D.V, and I know from experience that it is not obvious. I salute your achievement here .....

Thank you so much! I absolutely love it. It's mixed really well. I love the strings, and that cowbell..... :D It's so weird for me to hear myself alongside a "real" guitar, and that guitar solo is fantastic.
