you nail the rainy Saturday vibe really well Allochtune....good picture painting music...the piano sounds good & you surrounded it with some effective embellishment..nice fat electric piano is great...well done to you...enjoyed the chilled listen....
Thanks for listening! I believe that this is one of my best song up to this point. And picture painting music is a great song title. I might steal that if you don't mind :P
Again, the fat piano is from sqrtofneg1, so please check out his stuff in the description that I based my song on!
Thanks for your comment and your time, again!
Your creativity is always what grabs my attention Spiv...we could all use a touch of that imagination of yours...hardly my go to genre but just have to admire what you accomplish...besides its a fun song...a big well done to you...Ed
Hey Ed, thank you for taking a listen... I know that it is always out of your comfort area! Your mention of creativity pleases me to no end, since I feel like this is one of the few redeeming qualities of humans throughout history. It feels good to be even a small part of that! The instrumental of this was a very large challenge, since I have despise the synth plugin Sytrus for over a decade. I'm fairly proud, since all of the sounds were created from scratch on this one synth. Admittedly, FL Studio is most at home with it's own plugins being used, but it was still a stretch of my imagination. The words on the other hand came easily compared to most of my music, and it's one of those rare times when I was not reading what I was singing. One of those things which I could not say to most people without attracting negative attention! Thank you Ed for being my constant musical companion, Lo, These long years!
Oh man...what have thou done.....I`m only part way through and I`m reminded that I haven`t dug out my all time fav Nightwish concert video in a while (DVD) and let the hard times roll...you could have convinced me this was all done with real instruments...I like that you got the nice fat stuff in the guitar EQ and that big rich distortion (without the harsh treble stuff that some forget to dial out)...I watched the Nightwish drummer pretty close (as I would have died trying to keep up with his double-kick stuff) but your drummer guy here has a bionic pair of legs HaHa...Best metal I`ve heard on the Loop Aaron or a lot of other places as far as that goes (although you can likely guess its not my most frequent listening genre)...If there were some things in the mix you didn`t like, I sure as hell didn`t notice them...too busy catching the whole vibe...top class stuff...I like it too...gotta hit tha fav button....Keep on....Ed
I might normally be tempted to describe that lead guitar are being a pretty harsh tone...but we`re talking Punk here..and its about screwing the rules and cutting loose the noise....Def in-your-face vibe...rank guitars...hard-hitting drums at big bpm....Can`t say I`ve heard any Punk tracks on the loop that nail it better...mix sounds fine and the heavy limiting (that I`m not usually a fan of) seems to fit the bill here....you`re on the money Deathbot...Ed
Really catchy yet subtle little melody lines Bob...Has an R&B flavour to me...just a good smooth listening piece of music, thoughtfully brought together...enjoyed this one mate....well done to you....Ed
On the contrary, my dear friend....the ol guy on the prairies was the first who correctly predicted that this might cause some positive buzz around here...so that "Bravo" goes to you Ed...:)
Now it seems that we shouldn't bother too much about this one when one of the biggest artists on LM extaticly gave it "10/10" (btw he completely dismissed my previous 2 uploads...haha...) and when our good friend Wayne says : "Can't say I hear anything I would change, it's pretty darn awesome!" (I like this one...haha..)
I wouldn't be saying all these silly things, but...somehow....and I don't know why...I like this shit !:)
However, as I promised...I will give you a new version...soon...and in case I let you down again (probabilities aren't low...haha...) I'll go on vacation and stay there as long as possible...haha...
And ofcourse, thank you so much for stopping by...even if just for a short peek...:)
Bonjour Dan....what a nice surprise to stop by The Loop this evening and find my old friend and special musical company once again with this one posted....I am always honoured Dan....many thanks many times to you....Ed
Great way to come back mudhoen....dig the sax & rhodes...I think the ultimate test of a mix is wheather or not the listener enjoyed it....and I did indeed enjoy listening to this one...a big well done to you....I`m not too hung up on the fade ending...we all do them...hell, most everybody does them, but perhaps Static has a useful point...either way its a good listening piece of music...Ed
Thanks Ed. It was just my pure lazyness to fade out at the end. Took me some tries to make a more exciting ending but I think it sounds better now. At least I am glad youz liked the comeback :p!
Really nice clean laid-back mix jamid...I keep getting the impression that your musical mind is just growing and expanding like crazy...and your versatility as well as your talent are really growing along with it...and couldn`t we all use a few more of those thoughtful moments...uninterrupted by the passing demands of the day...This is really really good listening my friend...and to me that is the ultimate taste of music....I enjoyed the gentle ride this evening...big well done to you...fav....Ed
Hello my dear legend Ed,
Thank you for your great feedback I really appreciated my friend.
You are too generous to me mate.
For my success I should be thanking you, whatever I have achieved because of your influence in the art of music my dear friend.
I am glad you liked it.
Thanks again for the Fav's too.

A mystic introduction..the first piano part feels like the sound from one of those older mystery movies...I think the flute parts impart a nice peaceful feeling with the aiy choir pads...It certainly is different Cindy....nice to hear your creativity in the composing and arranging...seems to flow through different sections very smoothly as they all are consistent with the theme...you tell a musical story and leave it to the listener to interpret....congratulations to you and your collaborators....collaborations always seem to multiply the result....well done........Ed
Hi Ed ,
it really means alot to read such reiview from your side .
I'm really glad about the way you have underestood and felt
the composition .
thank you very much for stopping by and writing a comment .
I really appreciate your time and attention .
Holy shit...you hit the great Pink in the sky here my friend....I have always felt that good guitar vsti`s were fantastic when used properly..and man did you ever nail it...The intro does carry a bit of the spagetti western vibe but it kicks into gear after that....I`m listening to the last section now & I think my hair is growing back in...(aw shit its not)..but I`m going upstairs & get me a beer & come back down to my music asylum & hit play again....freeking awesome Aaron...You D` man....may the Floyd be with you....Ed
I think you just gave me my next silent challenge. To rock so hard it makes hair grow back! I better get started right now, too! I've noticed a fairly steady decline in my own over the last few years.
I'm glad you liked this one. Like I told Neo, having guys, (or gals, there just haven't been any if those yet), that play live guitars compliment my work is very encouraging. I'm hoping that in the next couple years things in life will settle down enough for me to start learning the real deal.
Thanks, Ed!
O.K Lee...just stopped in to let you know you are overdue for a new one HaHa....Hope you are well my friend..and I`m still making noises for a while here so hit me up if you ever need any company...all the best...Ed
Always admire the sound you get out of those CBGs...are you using the pickup by itself or including a mic in there?...sounds damn good every time & with just the right reverb to make it sing nice....and speaking of singing...Snowflake does some really nice vocal tracks...I`m betting this one is a bit diferrent for her...You do it well (I always find trying to compose top pellas a big challenge...anything other than voice I can nail the keys quick)....Missed this one before I guess Burton...sounding good as usual....Ed
This one just kind of happened. I recorded the music trying out the cookie tin guitar, 64 0unce Danish butter cookies tin (big one) fretted, with piezo pickup, then dropped Snowflakes spoken 'pella in and I don't think I even cut it to to adjust the timing! There is a spot where her voice gets a bit louder, I'll have to adjust that with a volume envelope. That's the piezo pick up only, played through guitar rig 5. It has some nice reverb all by itself too. I donated this one to the elementary school I'm a custodian at now, gave up my banks in December for it. The music teacher never heard of cbgs, now she has one to teach the kids about homemade instruments. She's doing a folk dance next month, perfect timing for them to get a cbg, cookie tin whatever you want to call it. I've heard a few of Snowflake's 'pellas used in blues tracks but this may be the first played on a cbg :p I love how these things sing! Everyone has their own voice. Gets really exciting imagining how the next build will sound. Thanks Ed, always a pleasure.
You guys are still cooking up some great stuff....it sure is a hell of a lot better than my radio plays...top class...different in the best of ways...mix sounds fine to me CitizenMofo, but my ears are not as reliable as they used to be...I just crank it up & it sounds good....fav....Ed
Thanks, Ed. We've done about 30 songs now in 4 months. Kinda going for it. Sunny amazes me every time. We just did a song on Friday, FOREVER AND A DAY, that blew my mind what she did with that guitar. I'll post it soon. Special time for me...and a long time comin'.
Guess I have missed this one for a long time Joe...it could also work as a soundtrack...quite a dramatic vibe...I enjoyed it and I always enjoy your vocal work even though I do not understand the words (and I don`t need to to hear the picture you paint musically)...you have a great vocal character for this...perhaps I have said that before but it strikes me every time as special....well done...Ed
No problem Ed,
cause it is one of the first tracks i put on looperman and the most of you didn't know me at that time :)
This is one of the reasons i put it right now on featured, maybe some people will listen to it who didn't see it when it came out......
Thanks a lot for your friendly words. I always enjoy to read nice comments like yours.
Oh yes...I was getting a little of the Floyd vibe right off at the intro...I think from the chord prog you used....man, I really like this one Pat...your usual playing skill of course and those great change-ups that set your compositions aside from the usual fare...Superb bit of musical work my friend & a great way to start the day...Will definitely be downloading this one..my head is already thinking on how to try & dial up some Gilmour tone and give this one a shot..Thanks Pat...Might be a while with all thats going on around our place but will be in touch......Ed...PS Pat...when you get a minute could you shoot me a mail on the recording tempo...I can usually calculate it accurately but just to make sure I get my track in sync.
Always nice to find these gems on the Loop....well done...I think you`ve nailed it pretty close although the vocal mix is a little unusual in a couple of spots...Its a really fine piece of work...enjoyed the listen...keep on....Ed
damn...I thought I had left a comment on this one when I listened before (likely off-line) but guess not...I was just listening to some of the material on that cbg album P.K.....and know what....you have a way better sound, but aside from that I just really like this rolling along track a hell of a lot...notice its downloadable...so thank you...will get me a copy in a minute.....I could put this on a loop and listen for a long time my friend....you do it particularly well......big fav.....Ed
I don't know of anymore free cbg albums, happened to find that one on my other desktop looking for something previously recorded. I think I like the swamp witch one the best of the two. It's got to be that electric guitar pick up or maybe just the mojo ;) I just got a number of magnetic pickups for builds, and wound my first with a magnet out of a hard drive, yet to try it though. Screw all the precision stuff, specific number of windings, resistance..., I just used the roll of wire and called it good. If it works, no reason it shouldn't, I saved a bunch of old junk hard drives to scavenge the magnets from and some hair clippers I can salvage the copper windings from. I love this one, thanks Ed :D
You are having a productive year mate....and you managed to get a kind of spiritual vibe into this one..creative thinking...some nice airy synth sounds (and a little touch of the majestic at times)...The human mind does not have the capacity to even describe the spiritual as we are only able to use physical terms to describe it...and what is physical cannot in fact be spiritual..its a fun subject to try & get your hear around...time is physical (based on rotation of the planets)...distance is physical...energy is physical...etc...But must say to did a fine job of creating that overall etheral vibe that we can connect our musical imaginations with...big well done to you...Ed

That's a hell of a compliment, my friend! I don't take it lightly! Especially since it's not your preferred genre.
I thank you, sir, for the kindness and support!
take care.
