on Grabbing Smoke by Zootman
Hey mate - wondering when you were going to post this one - sounds great, you fitted that vox in really well but the guitars are the star of this one - sound amazing, very cool track
Zootman
Zootman replied 2nd May 2023 - 2 years ago
Cheers man, thanks heaps for the sample. The main guitar gave me heaps of trouble, it's hard to play so slow, for me at least, plus I edited the drum loop into some sort of weird six beat time signature...

on Dreamland Beta Max Dub joka Dnb Remix by dubjoka
Really sweet track - gorgeous strings offset with gentle string like pads and such a nice vocal performance. The drum and bass is a real treat too so gentle - a real deft hand shown here.

Nice depth and space in the mix with classic dance pulse - love the synth work too : )

Thanks for the encouragement, pseudoble! I think I finally have come close to figuring out how to do a proper rolling bass line. Now, just need to get more creative on all the other elements! :)

Regards,

Eric

on si la realidad es mentira by phantomproduction
Nice work Michael - another great performance from you neighbour and the guitars really rock in this one. They are buried a little in the mix perhaps but that wall of sound production is a stylistic choice and its a classic. (maybe you guys can do an unplugged version too! :) )
phantomproduction
phantomproduction replied 30th Apr 2023 - 2 years ago
unplugged version , actually Diego wants to do 2.3 songs unplugged, I think it's a good choice for his voice! thanks Ian for listenings to our ideas!

Love it mate - you can do no wrong in my book - always fresh, joyful and spirited and this is a standout

Really love your vocal performance and that funky snaking guitar (the lead and rhythm are both great)

Long live the humps

on ELEVATE - Second Nature by secondnature1
Nice pulsing sound, beautiful soft beats, lovely arps and gentle pads blended and woven with real finesse. Nice structure to the tune too with a classy build, well place breaks and seamless transitions. A little tangerine dream like.

on A dark dreamy day by joecramer
Lovely track Joe - emotionally evocative, tender and triumphant more than melancholic. The legato synth sounds remind me a little of a Theremin. Sound production is top class
joecramer
joecramer replied 21st Apr 2023 - 2 years ago
Hello
Thank you very much for your well-chosen words.
The sound of the synth somehow had a touch of the past for me. And that could very well be because the sound sounds or feels like an old theremin.
It's nice to know that there are people out there who find what I'm doing audible and in some way enjoyable.

So thank you again for the time you invested in listening and writing.

stay tuned

on Terra Hunters ft Imprint by DvineTragedy
Nice dark bass drone, deep beats and cool vox (and spoken word sample too) those vocal effects are nice too - sounds like Exhale - which is about the coolest output instrument in my book. Nice one : )

DvineTragedy replied 20th Apr 2023 - 2 years ago
Only thing that's not original is the sample that is from Carl Sagan.

on GO LOW ft Nat James - Second Nature by secondnature1
Jonathan is in da house!

You did well with the transitions and bringing and building the beat and cross rhythms and though there is a lot happening instrumentally you pull it all together pretty seamlessly

on Distant by Maj2
That piano sounds just a little too 'plinky' for me (at least in parts) but what is being played is nice - post intro the track when the bass comes in this reminds me of something I might be hearing from Supertramp (remember them). Nice work : )

on Forward by InitiumMusic
Beautiful work - not easy with the vst instruments to achieve such a richly nuaced and textual sound but you have great balance and depth in the sound. Especially love those drums - look forward to hearing what building on this migh sound like but already amazing : )
InitiumMusic
InitiumMusic replied 4th Apr 2023 - 2 years ago
Thank you!

Yeah, I got some expensive new VSTs specifically for strings and piano so I wanted to work on something to test them out. They are sounding pretty good, but I think I could improve them a bit with more practice and editing (The new vst software is a learning experience).
