Beautiful work - keep going with the (re) mixing - Manuela gives great advice. Waves used to have a mastering essential course for free (but I couldnt find that now)though they do have a load of courses you can pay for but there are many good youtube videos with similar content.Id start there. You will get good feedback on LM too - I dont know what Im doing half the time but the advice here is gold and it's fun to try to get a better sound.
Hey - Ive heard some nice tracks from you before so I know you can do some nice mixes but Manu's on the money - all the elements are there but screaming for a remix - look forward to hearing the revised version : )
Thank you for the ear. I've been out of commission for a while and created this track while under the weather. As I listen to the track today you are all right. I can do better. Again thank you for your insight because it does and always helps.
Very cool - I think if you get the stems from Rita you can probably get a slightly better mix - to my ears in adding this great vox over the original track there is just a little loss of fidelity .. but it's great
Big congratulations to you both : )
This is really a beautiful track and love the sound production and lyrically well, Spanish is the loving tongue right? Big congratulations - Miss Davis would be chuffed I expect
Nice! Love the build, the timpani sounds wonderful, and as it evolves every instrument shines in its right place. It's a really beautiful composition and arrangement - I cant imagine how long this took (not quick I think!!)
Thank you pseudoble for the appreciated comment. This one took a different type of concentration from beginning to end. I had to think as if I were the person playing each instrument, as well as the composer and conductor. It took at least 40 hours to complete, but I noticed my brain was quite drained when I completed it, but was pleased with the results. Will stop by soon. Sorry for late reply. PEACE. T576 OUT.
Nice work - I wonder if you fade some of synth sounds in and out a little more the sound would be less settled in the middle (as Manuela says) and you might make more space for other elements in the track / we might hear some different frequencies, but it is really good already. And hey you have a lifetime of making music ahead of you, can you imagine how good you are going to sound by the time the next birthday comes : )
I've kept working on it for the youtube version and now that I've played it live a couple times I would probably do it again slightly differently... we learn a little every day :)
Nice work mate - same dark elements (though I leaning more to bird call as my fav of these 2) and nice mix drawing more on some 'classic rap' compositional elements - this one is begging for a rap too
Thanks for that Ian.
Ah, you know when for a minute you have a really bright idea and you start something then halfway through you get deflated? that was that moment when I started this track.
Thanks for the comment and fave mate.
Nice one Maj - lovely dark sounds and it seems as if every element has found its right place, timbre and tone, damn perfect balance and mix. Sure is set for a rap.
Great!
Hey Micky - well I didnt hear this the first time round but it's glistening like a mirror ball now, real depth in mix, great vocals, gorgeously funky rhythms and very classy all round. I played it again right away : )
Hey, thank you for this nice review. Yes, there's been a huge fat disco ball spinning in the middle of my head the whole time. Thanks for listening, much appreciated.
Great track - good production, beautiful guitar, nice piano, well written and superbly structured and an absolutely stellar vocal performance to boot. For a 'loungeroom' track I have to say this sounds very FM radio friendly. Congratulations : )
Wow, great words Ian! I need to polish it up a bit (theSINGLOT below had a great point) but yeah... it's slowly getting better. Thanks also to you and so many other fantastic people here. Looperman RULEZ!!
A poignant and heartfelt tribute and beautifully arranged and performed - Im thinking your brother would have been very pleased to here this and look forward to the next iteration - thanks for sharing
Thank you pseudoble, Just from the love I've gotten from this track, I realize that it would have been somewhat selfish not to upload it, but every time I tried to listen to it,
emotionally I just couldn't handle it. Some one as gifted as he was deserves me to keep his spirit alive through his music. Thank you again for the listen and reply. PEACE. T576 OUT.
Hey there - nice work, love the warmth and depth in the sound, the almost pop melodic synth lines and gently swelling pads with the artful use of the beats and bass.
: )
Hey - I dont mind the slower start although many people never give a track a chance if it doesnt immediately appeal - the early post intro part of this track very much reminds me of early 'Cure' (no bad thing in my book) and then it gets a little more industrial with some nice cross rhythms happening - I like it and you could certainly build this into a real banger : )
Wow thanks for the feedback. If it's not hurting the ears, it's a win. I hear between tracks for everything I listen to and focus on the groove meat, while the rest becomes the salad, then to another part.
My past was the Cure, Mission, SoM, Nephilim, New Order, NMA and Front 242... but semi pro as Rush, FnM. I generally make complex rhythms as a bassist turned pianist. I hear them all, and it makes sense but not to everyone:D
Woo Hoo - nice one Paul, in terms of feedback, I think eveyone already has it covered - great to hear you giving such a ballsy delivery, great mix of styles in the vocal delivery and fits really really well with the tune, great lyrics, you keep getting better and better at this, etc. The only thing I'd say that might be worth thinking about is the mix sounds a little loud - but having said that I dont think it's clipping - I mean that's what the volume knob is for hey. :)
Congratulations
haha i usually set my master volume at 3/4, i like to here stuff, but i might have to put it to 1/2. all my levels were fine the volume knob is easier though :)) i enjoyed this one mate, im pretty pleased with myself getting the new job, good salary, and perks, and plenty early finishes. it has 3 changes in the song so it was a test to try something new synth pop start to rap. thats what i told Jan i was thinking of doing. hopefully more inspiration will come, lifes positive at the minute for me personally, the economy is still f#cked though like everywhere really
Hey Maj
This has a lovely synth depth, nice attention to detail, gorgeous tone with gentle melodic swirls set to some perfect sounding soft pop beats - one for the after party animal I think : )
Well this is a lovely track, and Im very chuffed that my own recent effort helped to you to find it - it's a better track than mine in my view, has a lot more heart and sounds a lot more real. Nice structure, lyric, arrangement and playing (Im sure too you can polish it more if you want)
: )
Your production values are so much better, and I have to say I enjoyed the structure of your song just fine. I gave it another listen and it's a really excellent track!
Maybe we need to set up an exchange - you produce my track and I do the minimum of (re)arrangements on yours :)
