Yo solid jazz track, like the piano especially... The jazz drummer in me tho is crying for a little variation in there... maybe some ghost notes on the snare, an accent or two here or there, maybe a fill? it might help give it a little more of a "swing" and natural sound to it... But regardless it's a solid track, It's refreshing to hear jazz on here.
Yo like this work a lot, did you do the keys yourself? Those keys really make the piece, and I like the drums a lot too. I feel like the bass could use a little "fattening up" though, Maybe adjusting the tone of it a bit? Or maybe just making a few of those notes a little longer.
I guess if this is meant for someone to drop lyrics on it's solid, but I also feel like as a stand alone piece a B section, or a breakdown or chorus would also help add some spice. Great job though very tight.
After reading the description had to give it a listen. Love the piano work... is that all you? the way it seems to fall behind just a bit. Also very haunting, powerful lyrics. It's good that you can channel such difficult experiences into such positive energy. You should upload some loops! I know I'd use your work...
None of this is mine. It's just about me. I have been trying to upload some loops I have made, but it always tells me there too big or some error occurs. Marcel (lymixthebull) from the nether lands did the vocals and the beat. Im glad u enjoyed this, its a true story
sick as HELL. Love the groove, love to hear MC's talkin bout somethin real. I should send you a song I'm workin on about capitalism, and how mass media is being used to control us. I think if nothing else you'd dig the lyrics. I agree that the vocals sound a little muddied, part of me kinda likes the raw sound, but another part of me says when you actually say something like you are, I wanna hear every last crystal clear word. Solid man, I would love to collab some day.
Thx Thetthanx.... yeah send me a PM with the lyrics. Collaborations are a bit harder for me unless you can CUT up a WAV into parts as I only use riffworks. I can import but better in parts so I understand what is where. I can then lay down vocals.. bass if you want and send back in 32 bit wav! We can use dropbox to collab.. just send me your email and I can invite to the box.
dude, I LOVE the melody line on this one. You're melodies really inspire me... This kinda track really makes me wanna work on my own for sure. Way to keep bangin em out. I look forward to reviewing more of your tracks! y only complaint is that it's too short! I feel like it could use a B section... maybe even like a thunder sound effect, increased rain, cool dark bridge, and then swelling back to the beautiful melodic line... Hey whatever you do will be cool I love it as is. Fav'd for sure.
L= thanks bro, yeah this one is still in progress, unfortunately I keep piling up all these ideas and not finishing them >.>
Hopefully Ill get to it soon, thanks for listening brother!
Ok so I'm trying to get myself to bed, and I was like "oh what the heck, one more track." I'm not at all familiar with "dance" as a genre, and I guess I expected something different. Loving the acoustic guitar, meshes well with everything else. Also LOVE the sounds of the ocean and birds, really pulls up some nice visuals in my head. That alone makes this track stand out for me.
Oh man, I agree with clinthammer, and in general the percussive sounds you've used here are just... awesome. Love the smooth intro, I started off being like "this is gonna be a dubstep?!" Listening to this one again for sure. fav'd
To be honest, I'm not at all familiar with the genre, but Looperman is constantly exposing me to new things. Some I like, some I don't, and a few that I listen to and take note of their impeccible technique and style. This falls under the last category. What you've done with the panning, filtering and different sections of the song is certainly applicable to many styles of music. I'm glad I gave this one a chance, and thanks for what it has taught me!
Like this track a lot! Has a great industrial with the drums... Like what you've done with the hihats and the synth. Fine as is, but I feel like a little panning with some of the synth stuff would really add a lot of depth to the piece. Very cool!
How could I resist a track with such a title? I have yet to hear a track of your's that doesn't push the boundry in some way... Obscure and you break so many conventional rules about clean vocals, quality of sound... everything. You're music f*cks with my brain in a good way. It almost sounds like glitch +reggaeton to me. Thanks for such inspirational tracks!
I guess if I could offer any other feed back, I'd say it would be cool to hear some really stretched out fuuuuuccckkkkkk yoooouuuuuuuuu's really low in the background, maybe as like some kinda added bass effect or something. But honestly probably better to leave it as is, total classic.
Yeah the title kind of draws you in doesn't it? Thanks for saying I push the boundaries, that's quite a compliment! I love learning rules and then breaking them! Glitch+reggaeton huh? I don't even know what it takes to be reggaeton...maybe it's the vocals that do it? Thanks for the inspirational review and the fave!
I paid extra attention to the guitars after I read the last review... I dunno, I don't feel like they're too loud but I think if you took em down just a tad it couldn't hurt. Pads have a cool scratchy quality to them.
I guess if I had to offer any advice I'd say I feel like the bassline lacked some distinction. Actually, I can't even tell if the track has one. I think a nice simple bassline would really round out the sound.
Really nice track though, I like it a lot.
thanks everyone pointed out the bassline startin with you! haha really appreciate that i cant believe i didnt add one. got some ideas now!. thanks alot for listening man
It's a good start and I like what I can hear... but I feel like it could use some mixing. To be honest the bass drum, snare and Hihat are all mixed at a normal level, but EVERYTHING else is incredibly quiet, which is too bad cuz it sounds cool from what I can hear.
I also feel like it could use some variation, maybe a bridge, a drum fill or two some addition/subraction of parts to really make this track pop.
This definitely has potential to be something great though, so keep at it!
"I was seriously waiting for the part where it goes kinda hard"
I bet he hears that all the time from the ladies...
Like the work in argon... I've almost been using it exclusively for basslines, but this makes me wanna mess around with creating some more lead type stuff with it. Definitely hit's some low db's in there. Good track, and "that keyboard note" makes the track
Very very nice, short and sweet is correct. Like many of the peruvian women I've encountered ;) Great latin jazz piece, really like how you change it up here on looperman!
geez, I'm a sucker for the sound of japanese and korean, just beautiful languages. Great use of the loops, and you've got a really great singing voice too! I look forward to the full version!
Sheeeeiiittt Love that super funky organ work in there. You know how to lay down some sweet tracks. Those loops or stuff you created in logic? I gotta say man logic comes with some pretty sweet sounding instruments if that's what your workin with... Might just pick me up a copy of that some day.
A+ and fav'd
Ahhh this makes me miss sittin round a campfire jamming with my buddies over some hotdogs, beers and a little reefer. I had to give it a relisten and play along with my harmonica just for fun! Great track! fav'd
wow, I love the rawness of this sound. Nice and simple, with just the guitar and vocals. I'm very impressed. Do you ever sing for collaboration stuff? I've been kicking around some ideas that I would love to have your voice in, even if it's just humming! Very beautiful overall, and very different from a lot of what i hear here. Thanks!
God I love scratching, and I LOVE the old school hiphop. I have a track that needs some spicing up... If I sent it to you would you wanna see if you were maybe interested in laying down some scratching/sampling? No pressure, just let me know if you wanna check it out.
Me too. It's a crying shame that it's lost some airplay. I'd be glad to help, if you'd like. Send me something you wanted work on and we can go from there. Contact me anytime. :) Thanks.
Man, you do some good mashups... Careful though, you gotta prove you can use these people's music/accapella's or else the tracks will get removed. It's a shame if they do man, these are tight.
Woah, dude, you didn't even ask permission... JUST KIDDING THIS IS F*CKIN AMAZING. Probably the best compliment I could have received. I'm DL this ASAP. Seriously yo I'm blown away by the compliment. Plus you couldn't have picked a better artist. I mean, if you had put me vs. little wayne or something I would have been like "eh alright cool I guess" But Brother Ali? You've got some taste. I'm super pumped about this. Steal my beats anytime, as long as you keep showin em to me!
I'm pretty sure Mrbillionx couldn't hand out a compliment if he had a gun to his head... He is right about the melody tho. Just amazing work again. How's nanostudio treating ya? How's it comparing to beatmaker in terms of strengths/weaknesses? I'd love to hear of review of what you think of it... Still wanna upgrade the ipod before getting the app, but way to represent the mobile studio world!
Lol Im not trippin on billion comments on me, hes got a few persona issues
Thanks alot bro! Nanostudio is great, Im pretty happy with it actually. once BM2 comes out its going to be a helluva combo :D
In general, BM has a lot more thump to it. However, Nanostudio has these Eden synths that really make it shine(they should be an app in themselves)
its much easier to create dynamics in NS, but BM still wins with copy/paste.(still, a vers of NS is in Rev by Apple to have that and more 0.0)((along with audiocopy))
You know, as sad as it is to say, BM became obsolete to me =/
However, with the ability to have 128 samples and slice up samples on the fly, BM2 will be a first day buy!
Thanks bro, i appreciate the listen and compliment :D
DYYYAAAAMMMMM. This makes me wanna drop some lyrics, and write beats in this style. Love that Bass! is that from logic studio? that kit sounds tight as hell too! fav'd for sure. I'm coming back to this one.
I can't believe I fav'd this and didn't even leave a review! I LOVE the melody. The beat is fat as my cousin from texas and the synth work is makes this a keeper. When you say vocals are you looking for an MC or a singer? I almost can hear some female vocals singing the chorus to this one...
hey thanks! this is the first track I made that actually left me with a smile on my face. Like i finally reached a new level(for me) in music creation. I am a HUUGE HUGE fan of female vocals, so that would be ideal but I am open to anything really. just want to get some words on my tracks! will have a lot of free time soon to check ur tunes! thanks again
This is quite inspirational... I'm currently working on some more "out there" sound projects, and hearing stuff quality stuff like this really wants me to get out there and work on what I'm doing. Love how you composed the drums, love the bass, the weird glitchy melody, the breaks... It's obvious you really have a lot of experience. Fav'd
I'm really happy that you found this track to be inspirational! Whatever makes you want to work on your own stuff is a good thing! Thanks so much for your kind words, it means a lot to me! Take care friend!
