Oh man this is so cool. Draws you in, wraps it's fingers around the brain stem, and squeezes. I could have had more of this...

on Neoclassique Lo Fi by AnthonyAttard
Hi Anthony, it's different, I like it! As others have said it has some old school soul or rnb vibes thanks to the horns. But the strings throw it into something else again. Very creative, well done! Zoot.

I very much like it sounded different to you Zootman, but as I understand it did not sound badly. Been creative is something I always try and I am very glad you say so.
Best regards, Anthony

on i will miss you dearly by LoyaSauce
Man this is a beautiful piece of music. Love it very much. As someone said, the vocals could be a hair higher on the mix. Don't be afraid to bring them forward, they're very good. And I love your lyrics too. Tumeke bro.
LoyaSauce
LoyaSauce replied 12th Jun 2025 - 8 months ago
Thanks for your kind words :) and yes you're right, I agree that the vocals could be higher. On bandlab, there's a plugin where you can reduce the noise so the "ess" and "t" sounds aren't as prominent, guess I overdid it this time haha

Very good track. Yes troubling times definitely. Seems a bit like the perfect storm at the moment and the near future. Will have to check out the movie too.

Thanks, Zootman! Yes, definitely check out the movie. For me, it was like stepping into another world. Interesting to visit. Not a place I'd be comfortable staying in, though. :)

This might be good for a giggle, similar theme but with quite a uniquely NZ humor. Kinda Flight of the Concords vibe.

Interesting track. I liked the intro and the guitars are awesome. Lacking some bass in places or maybe that was a creative choice? Cheers Zoot.

on How are you by crucethus
Man I liked this from the get go with that kind of loping bass line. It's also pretty cool to hear you sing, I think maybe you should do more of that cause it's really very good. And a serious topic too, I can relate. Well done man, nice work.

Thanks, I do not like writing lyrics, and therefore I don't sing much.

on Pin Cushion Medicine by ValveDriver
Far out man, this is such a heavy track. The mix is amazing. It could easily be a heavy metal track too but it doesn't need the guitars cause the synths and bass and percussion do the job to the max. Going back and looking at some of the conversation around this track - yeah that song Would is amazing. He was a fantastic singer. And didn't Andrew Wood inspire the Temple of the Dog album too? Brilliant stuff anyway man. Zoot.
ValveDriver
ValveDriver replied 31st May 2025 - 8 months ago
Hey Zoot, what's happnin'?
It's funny that you say this could be a metal track, too. I have a remix that has the guitars, bass and metal drums in place of the synths. This version was far more menacing, as it was intended. I may still use the metal version for something else though. It's not plagiarism when it's your own, right?
Yes. Andrew Wood was the main inspiration for Temple of the Dog. Cornell basically made the album as a tribute and as a way to deal with Andrew's death.
Hey, thanks for taking the time to listen and comment. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Take care.

Hi Zoot, thanks for your feedback, glad you liked the track. I haven't read any of Rupert Sheldrake's books, but I was interested in his proposed theory of morphic resonance though, hence the song title. Thanks again.

First I gotta say what a pleasure it was to see your name again on LM. It's been way too long. I've commented already on this crazy funky soundscape of a thing. So I'll just say welcome again and I'm hoping for some more of your wonderful creativity. No pressure lol. Cheers Zoot.

What's up ZM,
Micky, Kayos2 and GenjiZorsJimmo listened to a couple of my tracks at almost the same time (Twilight Zone music). Even weirder than that is I was browsing some LM accapella's at the same time after not being on LM for at least a year :{ I guess it's time to get the band back together lol :}

on Sailing by AnthonyAttard
What a delightful, airy, breezy tune. Feeling very tired and grumpy but I think this was the cure I needed. I've always said, wiring happy, positive songs is very difficult. But you got it with this one. P.s. imaginary album made me smile. I have a few of those imaginary albums too. All the best Chris

Thank you so much Zootman for your time listening and commenting on my music.
Well smiling is a very good reaction, you can understand me!
It is a matter of been more focused on something.
Glad you liked the track, being positive is another good thing.

on The Winner Takes It All - Guitar Cover by Bilbozo
Ha, I was about to turn off and go to sleep when I sat this freshly minted track from your good self. Been a while.... You sure know how to use that guitar!! Is the rest of it stems or you played it?
Bilbozo
Bilbozo replied 19th May 2025 - 8 months ago
Het thanks for the listen. It has been a while since I recorded and I sure missed it. Business has been keeping me away from guitar. In fact my fingers are pretter tender after this track because my callouses went soft. The keyboard parts were stems and they managed to fit in nice.

Nice work. Had a nostalgic vibe to me. Interesting what u say. I've always thought your beats were top notch and always liked your voice too. Honest opinion tho, maybe you could try stretching out lyrically maybe. Might help. I'd encourage you to keep going tho, even just for the fun of self expression. Cheers Zoot

on Abused by LJmbbremen
Hey Matthias, did you do the vocoder? I have been playing with the free TAL one lately but haven't really produced anything with it yet. Whenever I hear one though I always think of your pioneering countrymen Kraftwork. This is a very cool track though, very well constructed, mixed and produced. Sounds like a great clubbing track. Ciao Chris

Hi Chris.
the most in this this track are loops. I have add only a few keys with a few VST instruments.
I would love to dance to this track in a club ;), great.
Greetings
Matthias

on The Void Between Us by BullittVolante
Hi there, nice work on the track. I like the variations you introduce as the track progresses. Some pretty wicked drum breaks in there and some fine synth work. Personally, I would maybe have broken it down somewhere along the line, maybe dropped a whole lot of stuff out perhaps, then build it back up again. But then I tend to minimalism often. Either way, it is a treat to have stereo hearing again after being deaf in one ear for the last couple of weeks!! Cheers Zoot.
BullittVolante
BullittVolante replied 15th May 2025 - 9 months ago
Hi Zoot, thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Yes, in hindsight I probably could have added a drop out and a build up to the track. I do tend to keep things to a minimum sometimes. It's always good to know what people think, especially when you produce music alone. I always appreciate feedback. Thanks again.
