Zooot zoot, pls don't dig to deep. Intro hit hard, love the guitar layers, Micky did a great support on bass, got a great oomph and for a ballad you need live bass. Syntg action is tastefully and doesn't go into a cheesy area, love that. Fck raw guitar, with the right amount of gain. Love the tone. I'm a huge fan of the singing Zotman, it soothes my soul. Love from a banana

Glad to hear you enjoyed it Lu. This was built off a bass loop I liked, but Micky offered to put a real one on it, so of course I said yes! Cheers man, Chris.

Ooh, love this one, has like the songwriting ethos of Neil Young and the vocal experience of the Stone Roses.

Zootman replied 18th May 2026 - 4 days ago
Thanks mate, I'll take the Neil Young song writing ethos! And the Stone Roses for that matter lol

Fantastic result! I imagined myself flying with my imaginary wings in an endless updraft above India. Well done.

Thanks a lot. Used a lot of saturation on this, maybe too much, but I like the thickness of it. I could hear the harmonics in Micky's original track so had a feeling there was a whole lot more in there that could emerge. Cheers Chris

You're right, with headphones you can really feel the movement of the sounds. Listening to it was like a journey, like floating with my eyes closed. Great job.

Well, shyt....I had my guard down and got gut punched lol. This was the most pleasant surprise ive had in awhile. I Went in expecting the stuff Ive heard from of late, the garage-gazi stuff. And thats well enough, of course. The emotional depth and honesty here is pure joy, for us anyway. Pnnywze is saying that the message really resonates with him right now, and we all agree. This is Epic Mega-Ultra Upper Echelon Tier, Chris. Thanks for sharing.

Tumeke man! You made my day with that comment. And yes there is some honest emotional content in there, brought about by a range of internal and external factors. I'm glad you picked up on that. In short it meant something - to me at least. Thanks, Chris.

I really like the atmosphere you created. The guitar track fits really well. Let's hope we don't have to go to a hole in the ground. Nice track, Cosmo.

Greetings Cosmo, yeah it's a shit show tragi-comedy at the moment eh? I know that withdrawing isn't the answer but sometimes.......All the best, Chris.

Excellent song, the atmosphere is truly amazing, and as Mark mentioned, there is a specific strategy behind its creation. The vocals are outstanding, and the bass line is solid and essential to the overall impact of the track.
Best regards, Anthony

Hi Anthony, thanks for listening. There was some strategy but as you know with these things, it's often organic lol. Cheers Zoot.

Hello Chris, hello Micky,
Ive noticed in the past how wonderfully the two of you harmonize. I truly believe you could get some really great projects off the ground together. Well done!

Chris! You've captured a vibe from the past and brought it front and center. The standout for my listen is the texture and flavor of your guitar and how you amped the soundscape with the strategically placed synths. I didn't catch the first iteration, but this one sounds on point. Thank you for sharing.

Peace,

Mark

Thanks Mark. I was pleased with the interplay between the guitars and synth in this. And Micky bass really improved it. Cheers Chris.

nice work Chris, great playing as usual and a good vox, I think lots of us would like to escape reality right now, the worlds in a messy place, only yesterday I mentioned to Richard that I'm sick of all the conflict around the world, bombs bring another generation to hate talks bring about peace,
nice indie track mate good synth and a nice bassline from Micky

Great track all the way around, not much more to say, except it kinda gives me Alice in Chains unplugged vibes.

I loved listening to you. The composition and the sounds are so defined. Listening to you reminded me of when I used to listen to Pink Floyd. For a few minutes I buried my head in the sand to listen more closely, haha. Congratulations, great job.

Zootman replied 29th Apr 2026 - 3 weeks ago
Hi there, yeah people have referenced Floyd for some of my stuff before. I remember my father playing it when I was 8 or younger even. Thanks for the listen and comment, much appreciated. Cheers Zoot.

Dude, this is so good. It feels very early nineties, like it brings me back to listening to Marcy Playground in my car as a teenager. Great job!

And yeah, it's hard building a traditionally structured song with just loops. It takes a lot of musical surgery and finesse. That's why I need to start learning a real DAW instead of just using Audacity.
Zootman
Zootman replied 29th Apr 2026 - 3 weeks ago
Hi Mal, thanks a lot. I haven't heard of Marcy Playground, will have to check them out. As for DAWs, a friend put me onto Reaper when I got into music making. It's all I know but I like it, it's pretty intuitive, lots of good tutorials on line, and it's cheap.... Cheers Zoot.

P.S. I'm really looking forward to the version where Micky plays the new bass line. I think you two will harmonize beautifully you're both outstanding musicians and understand each other perfectly. And if that doesn't translate quite so well into English, I'm sure Micky will still take it as a compliment. Smile
Zootman
Zootman replied 27th Apr 2026 - 3 weeks ago
Yeah me too! I'm fortunate to have made his acquaintance.

Annoyingly, just when I thought I'd finished with this one, I wrote another verse...

I was light enough to float
But I sunk like a stone
Too close to the bone
In my hole in the ground.

So it goes.... Thanks as always, Chris.
