I loved the track! I also think it has a perfect mix and equalization, and the sounds are super clear. Congratulations!

Im sure you had a great time creating this track, especially with so much of it played by you. Its such a creative process that gives chills when it all comes together, and this one definitely does. I really enjoyed the song, Chris.
Best regards, Anthony

Hi Anthony, yes it was a fun track. And Micky and Jynx played some great parts too. Cheers Chris

Chris, the only thing I don't like about this is that it stops at 2:10. Way too early, man!
This almost like a psychedelic rockabilly ballad. I'm diggin' it.
To be honest with ya, this reminds me a lot of our very own Mr. Tumbleweed's playing. Partially in style, but more so in the tones. I don't know if you're all that familiar with his work since he's been quiet around here for awhile, but in saying so, this is a very high compliment to you.
Excellent work, as always.
Take care.
Aaron.

Yo Aaron, thanks mate. Yep I know Tumbleweed and that is definitely a fine compliment, though maybe a long bow to draw. But I'll take it...

Psychedelic rockabilly...yeah that's probably a good description. Do you remember the Cramps? I'm sure you do. Not really the inspiration for this track, but they came to mind reading your comment. Cheers Chris.

Thanks Rita. Your reminded me the two beats aren't mine of course lol. I should teach them down and credit.... Cheers Chris.

Kia ora, nice one and good timing, as I listened to your track again this morning. Still love it. And I'm pretty sure I remember eating white sugar by the spoonful when I was a kid if I could get away with it....

@zootman I forgot to add this, but I totally agree with @danke2026's observation, very Tarantino in both inspiration and sound. Again, strong work!

I really dig this and the chill vibe it's throwing out. Spaghetti Westerns have some pretty decent music, just waiting to inspire or be sampled. You definitely nailed the feel. Killer stuffs!

Another dope piece of real music bro. The stuff in the background is perfect, too. I cant think of anything else that is quite like this, especially right now. My brother is going to send you some of his favorite samples and one shots to go with those midi packs, btw. Reaper and FL arent that different when it comes to using those as an instrument to run midi through. U got this man
Zootman
Zootman replied 11th Mar 2026 - 2 weeks ago
I guess it's kind of retro? Or as Kayos said, try checking out some Krautrock motorik type stuff from the 70's !! Got the midi stuff etc thanks. Och aye Zoot.

I meant to mention this in the first comment, but I have a series of MIDI packs that Ive made, mostly drum and 808 but a few melody packs, as well. Ive given them to some folks here to try out, and to kinda get a peek at how I do my drums. I'll send em to u if u want to experiment or whatever. Theyre royalty free and all other bullshit free, so use em however youd like.
Zootman
Zootman replied 11th Mar 2026 - 2 weeks ago
Yeah, got them thanks. I'll check em out when I get a chance. If i want to use the drums I guess I'll need to set them up to trigger samples or something, which might be a bit technical for me the luddite.

What plug in are u running the bass midi through? Im just curious. Outside of expensive and RAM hungry Kontakt instruments, its hard to find a good bass guitar plugin. Ive used a few presets that come with FLEX in FL, but theyre not great. If I had the option at the moment, Id just play the damn bass myself and process basically it the same way I do my guitar pieces. I dont have a bass though :/
Ive given this one a few listens. Youre right, the new mix is superior. It seems like I heard a few more sounds in the background as well, idk if you added more or if the mix is that much clearer. Anyway, I love when u do these type of songs, there's a pureness to them thats hard to put into words. Really nice work, Chris.

Me neither on the real bass guitar front. On this track, and most other things I've done, it was done on Labs free bass, with a dash of compression/EQ and saturation from Black Box (Analog Design). I have toyed with the idea of getting Modo bass (IK Multimedia) but I'm not convinced my laptop's CPU can handle it. Otherwise I think I'd get it cause it looks cool and I think it sounds pretty good. Cheers man, Chris.

"Title comes from a name given to a pet lamb" -- that has got to be one of the coolest pet lambs in the history of pet lambs hahaha, and now he's got a theme song. This track is greateverything from production to the use of effectsit puts me in a chill mode but also makes me want to "crash out," as the kids nowadays say great work, bud!

Zootman replied 11th Mar 2026 - 2 weeks ago
Yes indeed, I never met the lamb in question but I'm sure he/she/her/they was a handsome devil. Thanks for the listen and comment, much appreciated. Cheers Zoot.

State of the Art production with a touch of Krautrock - loved the bass and beat
Zootman
Zootman replied 10th Mar 2026 - 2 weeks ago
I'm glad you got the Krautrock feel. I've been trying to make something in that genre, which I love, for ages. Not really sure I nailed it really so I'll keep trying. Cheers Chris

Nice! This quite a unique DnB track, the transition into the DnB element is really spot on! That bass line is killer! Sounds excellent to me, strong work.

Thanks! You must be delving deep into the archives to find this one. If it's unique it's probably because I don't really know anything about dnb! Cheers Zoot.

Well this is great, and its definitely playing to your strengths as an artist. Giving us visual cues in the title and the description really helps speed the journey along properly. You have a really broad range bro. Take a bow.

The instrumentation on this is top shelf, but man, that crispy mix is what sends this one off into the stratosphere. Insanely good, feels like I'm there at a live session with you guys. Really well done. I hope all is well.

Original. I like the atmosphere. See my profile pick. My wife and I got married in Virginia City, Nevada in the 1800's Courthouse. All the guests wore western wear. Too bad we didn't have "Western Spaghetti" to play at the reception. You brought back memories. Thanks Zootman. Cosmo

Hey. Thanks, this made me chuckle. Pretty impressive resume on your profile. I laughed outright at the In My Other Life statement. Mexico eh? Always wanted to go there, partly for the surf but also the culture. Been to South America though which was pretty cool. Anyway, thanks for the listen etc. Cheers Zoot.
