I live by the ocean, always have and always will. Couldn't live somewhere away from the sea! I've listened to this a couple of times now. It's a really enjoyable ambient track to me. Great atmosphere and a stunning crisp but full mix. Well done. I like your style. Cheers Zoot.

on Dreamtime by crucethus
Beautiful intro C. I faved it on that basis alone from the get go. Then it just got better. Yeah, moody and immersive, pretty psychedelic. Lovely sound design. Ramps up nicely with the freakout guitars. Sweet coda on it. Nice work man.

Oi, thanks, mate. "Freakout Guitar". A very nice description, I would attest that to "In Every Dream Home a Heartache" by Roxy Music, where Phil brings that "Freakout" sound. But nonetheless an accurate description. Thank You.

on Nu Man by Mykael
Sweet funk soul. Someone referenced the RevAl Green I see. I'd agree with that though this is quite energetic in comparison. A bit of hip-hop thrown in too. It's a really enjoyable listen is what it comes down to. I love the instrumentaion and your voice, goes without saying. Good vibes. Cheers Zoot.

Hiya, Zoot! Thanks for the listen. I'm happy you enjoyed it. As it turns out, this song is finally getting its day as it will be appearing on my forthcoming album. While I have released a few singles over the years, I've never done a complete album...until now. The song has been re-imagined, but the original bones are still there.

Sweet soul sadness. And you're a poet! Can u write me some lyrics lol? Beautiful work here Rita. All the best Chris.

Thanx Chris.
To be perfectly honest.

In my own language, I can write rhyming poems reasonably well.
But when I translate it into English, it doesn't work anymore. For that, I sometimes use AI to make some sentences rhyme again, and sometimes I use rhymes to find a rhyming English word that fits, or I adapt my sentence to that word. So...the idea for the lyrics comes from me with a little help here and there

on Hold Me Close by RichardShekari
Well I can see very well why the guitar loop inspired you. It speaks to me too. This is a very calming and reassuring track. We all need shelter from the storm at some point. Thanks Zoot.

Very atmospheric track with some tasty synths. Love the vocoder, I've played around once on an old track with the free TAL one. Seems to work ok. That cuffed guitar is sweet too. Sounds is top notch. Sweet track all around.

on Life aint no bed of roses by RitajustRita
Cool lyrics, and track. I think I've said this before but your voice reminds me of Grace Jones on some of her later stuff like the album Hurricane. Specially when she's singing in a lower register.

RitajustRita replied 8th Jun 2026 - 4 weeks ago
Thanx for the compliment Chris.
Yes you said it before :)
She has a dark voice but her higher voice sounds good also. I cant reach the higher tones easy.

on Falling Apart by BaoBou
Nice man. U use a doubler on the guitar at one point, or is it double tracked?
BaoBou
BaoBou replied 6th Jun 2026 - 1 month ago
It's double tracked. I first tweaked the main melody until I was happy and then played the second a fourth lower (I think that was the order) which I think gives it a very cool effect.

Great stuff. I'm glad I listened and saw the description. I used to love the tracks Wayne the Humps posted here, but then he left. He was very supportive of me when I first started out. If you are communicating with him say hi from me. Cheers Zoot.

Sweet track, nice guitars and tasteful swirly synth. Reminds me of another character's music that pops up here every now and then but I can't remember his tag name. Cheers Zoot.

on TRAVELING THRU THE OLD WEST by AbnerB
I was getting visions of a horse and rider ambling thru a canyon and echoes, then lying flat on my back at night with the Milky Way wheeling overhead. Basically this is a damn fine and relaxing ambient piece.

I made a spaghetti Western type thingb recently, but very different to this, more of a piss take that I ended up really liking lol. It's called Western Spaghetti...

Hey Chris, I gotta agree with u man. Ive been fanboying since the beginning bcuz J.Holmes was the MC that made me want to be one. He and my brother have been best friends since high school, and Im 10 years younger than they are. So id hear him just freestyling and I was in awe man. He is still just next level, its almost effortless for him and it keeps me in the booth long after everyone else is gone, just practicing. It makes me indescribably happy when you guys vibe with our songs. It gives us something to hold onto, and the confidence to experiment and think outside the box. We've always done music, we were just too stupid to hit record on it until my brother forced us to. With literal force in Rob's case lol. Thanks for the support man. And I wish u could sit with him, too. So hed try to teach u instead of me. He might as well be speaking Japanese to me, man. But u have experience already, so youd grasp it much better than i ever will. I do know that he either already has uploaded some loops here, or is planning to really soon. And alot of it is drums.

Far out, you kicked it up a gear with this one. Synths are cool and nice thick guitar tone. I forget what you play? Les Paul or something? Anyhoo, super tight and groovy. Cheers Chris.
BaoBou
BaoBou replied 18th May 2026 - 1 month ago
I have a Heritage 535 which is sort of a Gibson 335 (look up the story of Heritage guitars, they continued the old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo). The keyboard is a Roland FA-06, the bass a Warwick rock bass and the drums a Roland TD-07 into EZdrummer 3. That's all, for this one :)

on Ghost in the Shell by BananaLu
Hello Banana, I have a complaint - it's too short. I love your phrasing, it's so non linear, and your voice of course, goes without saying. I got some Jim Morrison flashbacks actually. Groovy tune and guitar too by the way. Good to hear you again brother. Cheers Chris.

on You can take a 100 shots at me by TheFrenZ
I probably wouldn't have picked this as a natural colab but I'm my opinion it works just fine. Words of strength, defiance and determination from Paul coupled with your pretty cool electro music. Yeah! Nice one.

Kicking back after a long day, I'm thinking what do I want to listen to? Check on LM and a new one from you, all right! Nice energy to this. I'm not sure if you've got a weird time signature going on but I couldn't seem to find the start and end of a bar! I liked the quirky ending too. Cheers Chris

Chris, thanks for taking out the time and checking this one over. The one section went from 4 to 5 then 7/8 and back. I kinda like feel, but I will push it more. I appreciate your observations.
