Love the keys, they really set a mood right from the beginning. Wonderful lead vocals and great backups. It has that 70's rnb, jazzy feel, just perfect. Great job, it's always a pleasure to listen to your creations!
Love them too and they allowed me to try something cool and groovy .
But wow ! I didn't suspect this little thing could get such warm comments ! Thanx a lot, Wayne, your words make me real glad and honoured :D
Peace
Loved the energy right from the beginning. I must admit that I don't listen to much of this kind of music. But when it strikes a chord with me than I can really appreciate it more and more. Great dynamics in the song and the mix is great!
Hello Wayne. Much thanks for visit and comment. Nice that you took the time to listen to the track, doubly nice because you normally do not hear this music. :)
It's nice to hear some more acoustic music here, like the track. Interesting way to record but with today's technology allowing us to do this, I say "way to go man!" Honestly, I would like to hear this recorded properly, bet it would be pretty awesome!
Thanks for the feedback! We wanted to try a recording in a way that would save us hours of setup time and computer work. To get ideas down... Pretty good for Iphone!
I started to listen to this yesterday and got a phone call and had to return to give it a full listen. First off I am not a fan of long songs, give me a 2:30 song and I'm happy. I do however give tracks a listen if the description is interesting.
I really liked the banjo, not often heard here at the loop, it really added a cool acoustic feel. Quite a bit going on and there were some interesting changes and mood swings.
I used to love how the Doors would just jam and improvise on a groove kinda like jazz musicians do when they jam. They often go off in different directions but stay somewhat grounded to the original idea. I feel you are doing something similar here.
I did listen to the whole track here and it was interesting but just too long for my taste, that is nothing against your wonderful production, it was very well put together!
Well thanks for checking it out. I got the banjo a couple of years ago and have recorded a lot with it since then and it features prominently in quite a few tracks I've uploaded to the site.
They include: An Early Morning Appointment With God, Right Place Wrong Century and Into The Out There.
Yes, I'm not sure I've heard a single track on this site containing banjo. I also don't understand why it's not used more in electronic music (ie outside country and bluegrass and related genres) as it can be very cool. Mine's 6 string so just another guitar to me.
I do a lot of jamming on various grooves and wandering off but staying grounded to a sound, a key, that sort of thing. This track has quite a consistency to the different sections - I have others which change a lot more.
I fully appreciate that a lot of people can't cope with stuff that's over 8 minutes - and certainly not an 18 min track like this.
I am trying hard to do shorter stuff, with some success, but some things just all fit together so well that it feels wrong to cut them down. I guess I make music for a very niche and probably dwindling audience - people who want to put on a whole album and sit back and chill to it rather than just sample a quick little song.
Doesn't matter so much if tracks are over 10 minutes if you're listening for, say, an hour.
Just to let you know I don't listen to a lot of dubstep so my comments are not going to be too technical. First off I liked the intro. You described it as chilled and I totally agree, this is a cool and more laid back version of dubstep that I am not familiar with. I liked the strings in the latter part of the song. Nice job with this one!
Hey man, good to see you stop in, been a while! This is pretty cool. Mix sounds very good. Nothing to dislike about this one, it's not to fast and not too slow, just a nice easy tempo. Well done!
Yeah it has been a while.. Spent the best part of a year without a PC so my online presence sort of vanished. It was good to get out and see the real world for a bit again though lol
Thanks for the words bro and thanks for stopping by..
Hey Mr. 12STRING, this is funky, a bit of dance thrown in there, and pretty cool and fun. Patricia is amazing. Between her amazing vocals and the very upbeat groove you created I think you have a hit on your hands!!
I've been an REM fan since the ep with Gardening at Night and 1,000,000, think it's called Chronic Town. I thought the Monster album was kinda dark and something different from those guys. I really like the cover. It has elements from the original but you added so much of the Spivkurl touch that it really takes on a life of it's own. Excellent job Spiv, the vocals were very cool and out front in the mix, great job!
Hey Wayne, thanks for joining me for the listen! I've been into REM for a long time too, they're sort of underrated. I agree that Monster is pretty dark. I thought it was really cool to find out that each song's vocals were done with a different microphone on that album. I'm glad you don't mind the out front vocals, I used a pretty long chain of effects to give them that edge. Thanks so much for DL'ing and the fave, I appreciate the listen!
Very pretty, interesting effects on the drums. I love the delay on the piano as well. I must say the effects on this track really are outstanding. Cool track!
You are so talented Benham, it almost makes my head spin. I have been having a hard time playing some tracks and getting around on the site, even on both of my computers. Unfortunately, this is one I couldn't play until today and it is amazing as usual. I apologize for not commenting earlier. You have some incredible talents that I will never be able to have. This is such a beautiful idea, I tip my hat to you, again!
Wayne my friend thnx a;ot for attention and presence & also encouragements and those cool kidding about yourself's guitar playing althoughT I've listened more track from U to can believe this humbled comment of yours about your lack of ability for playing this selfplayed trial of mine ,but U've written what I usualy feel while listening to your harminica and guitar(s instrument that I play both)but whenever I listen your musiX & wonder how a throughbred msician can use them such proper & considered to make various atmspher for his traX...Wayne I' gratefull of U & your time & warm worthy
& hearty comment & send U my best wishes as usual & this time + obeisance. take care___Behnam
I like songs that have a lot of space and allow the vocals to shine through like this one does. You have one of the most beautiful voices on the loop, very professional. I like that modulation change around 3:00, very nice. Interesting effects and sounds you used. Very beautiful track Carole!
You're right, leaving some space for vocals to "breathe" and the music to blossom out is highly important, and I confess I was not really aware of that before my sweetheart told me that I sang too much, lol .
I'm very happy you enjoyed this, Wayne and I thank you warmly for your so gentle comment .
What's not to like about Patricia's vocals, she is awesome! Nice intro for beginners. I like the overall tone to this, kind of a bass driven track. Nice choice of synths and pads as well. Nice recording, sounds great!
I have no idea what the little big planet album is but it sounds very contradictory. ;) I like this, peaceful, uplifting and very pretty. Piano songs always work for me. Nice orchestration to give it a big sound. Nice job putting this together!
Those effects on the vox are very cool and creative. You are quite an original my friend! This is one of the more original tracks I've heard, excellent job my friend!
I respect you so much especially because you listen to things that are way different from what you create, I mean that in the best of ways! I'm very happy to receive one fave from you! It was fun to effect the vocals on this song, so I'm glad you enjoyed it! Take care my friend!
Really loved the whole dynamic build up of the song. It's a wonderful track, loved all your instrument choices and the quality of the mix. Sweet piece of music, thanks for sharing!
