Great sax! And there is some neat and cool little musical tidbits to check out as the song progresses. Your singing fits so good with the music, it sits well in the mix.
Love the vibe of the track, a laid back sorta r n b/pop song that is as good as anything on the radio right now. With the exceptional music track matching up with Patricia's vocal track, how can you go wrong? I also hear a little touch of some jazzy Steely Dan in there.
Good contrast from the verse and the chorus, nice dynamics. You guys must have a few albums worth of material by now. Are you sending them out to record labels or promoting them other than internet music sites?
My friend who heads up an Americana styled band plays this song live, really surprised it showed up on looperman. I like your version, it's honest and real. The drums and tambo add just the right amount of musical impact. The ticking clock is apropos.
Nice mid tempo song, another solid track. Kinda reminds me of Heart in some way if you mashed Nancy Wilson's voice with the singer of Concrete Blonde, Johnette Napolitano's voice. Well done!
Feels like I'm watching Endless Summer, that old surf movie. The sun is setting over the water, surfboard is in the sand next to me, hanging with my buds and chillin'.
That piano is so badass! It's like an earthquake tremor that rolls on and on. Great dynamics, you guys are pretty tight. You should give these tracks more credit, they aren't as bad as you describe them. It's live as well. :) Plus it sounds like the crowd enjoyed it!
Good title, even if you went all the way "with the Jonses" it would be cool. Catchy pop rock, dig it! You guys work so well with each other and you have a consistent sound with all your songs. Nice job folks!
Neat little power pop idea. Reminds me of something but I can't pinpoint it exactly. I like short ideas that get to the point, you planning to expand it a bit?
well as you can hear im stuck in 2chords which i dont mind.....reminds me of stuff too....it still sounds good today...so i guees i will do some work....expand...got some ideas....your voice would fit this song btw.....
Cool man! Nice production, nice mix, fun song, upbeat and happy! A-ha, the cure, Echo and the Bunnymen.... late 80's early 90's popular radio music. Vocals sometime?
Refreshing piece of music. All the pieces are sitting in their place in the mix and not fighting each other, well done! Honestly, this track made me want to go explore somewhere, expand my normal boundaries.
Hey Michel, I noticed that you mentioned that these are "only drafts for possible production". I totally get what you are doing, feeling out ideas and trying to get something going with a singer(s). I do like how your music and her vocals work together, she seems like a good fit. Some cool guitar parts, pretty dramatic song with a big time feel.
Well done man! Her vocals sound much clearer and more upfront in this track, sounds great, she has some pipes! I'm hear some lead fills on the left in my head, git a bit louder and keys too, turn 'em up, lets hear the goodness!
First off, nice production, mix sounds great! Trippy, cool piece of music, nice collab fellas. To me it has a reggae type of feel to it, it's laidback approach with the psychedelic, spacey atmosphere you guys created took me to a higher astral plane. :)
Another fine pop rock song man! Singing is once agin solid and the music sets a fine bed on which to lay them on. There's a weird click at about :43 that stood out to me, maybe on the vox track or a snare hit gone rogue. ;)
exact there is a vocal hitch (like on armagueddon, but I was able to delete it on this one, I deleted the word) on this one I could not have cut the sentence! I am thinking of a trigger for Lauren's vocal compressor, but I have the voice like that and I have to deal with it !!
thanks for all wayne !
Michel
This has an acid jazz feel to it, basically urban modern jazz. I have the first "Mushroom Jazz" disc, from a series, and this reminds me of some of that. Free flowing, impactful and certainly well performed and put together. I think Jaco Pastorius would have dug this.
One of my fraternity brothers disappeared one day back in the 80's. It was after he had left school and was married with kids. We searched the woods in his town for him and no trace of him was ever found to this day. Strange how that shit happens.
The song has a lot of tension and texture with the main synths that you used. I like the bell ring of the ride cymbal and the almost subdued drums, they sit well in the mix to my ears. The track gives me that sense of a journey and not an easy one by the sounds of it. Nice job!
It is strange. Even in people that are known to take off for awhile without saying anything. It's that one time when they just don't come back and you're left always wondering.
As far as the song, A tense journey is exactly what I had in mind. I just kind of imagined his life and his personality and what he may have been facing. I imagine that what he sees in this world is nothing but another obstacle to overcome. As loving as he is, his instinctual drive for independence is beyond that of any human I've ever met.
There are a few things that still need some tweaking in here. I'm not 100% on the piano part. But, it'll do for now. Once I can get back to it, I will.
Thanks for stopping by, mister. It's always appreciated.
First off, good title for this track. Has a good positive vibe as I listened. Those little notes that are bent or frequency shifted are a nice touch. The effect that sounds like a wave crashing onshore puts me on the beach on a hot day, I miss the beach. The vocoder vox is neat, those can be fun to play and experiment with.
That was actually the title of one of the samples in it, it fit to perfectly! I cant take credit for those bent notes! that was part of that popcorn sample. Usually i dont like to really use a sample without changing it a bunch but that one was to perfect to mess with! Just need to get through a few months of cold! It'll be summer before you know it! Thank you!
I like the idea but it's waaaaay too loud. The growly distortion after about :50 is a bit much, maybe a compressor was turned up accidentally. The singing was working with the beginning musical part but the mix needs some attention. We all have volume knobs to turn a song up but once you've introduced something that saturates the mix that much, even turning my volume down doesn't help.
