Hey dude, where ya been? lol It's Abe, isn't it? You're presence has been sorely missed here. Glad to have you posting some acoustic music, sounds live and crisp. 2 players?
Man I miss live music, going out to see people perform. This helps! Keep posting tracks.
Thank you!! Yea man, I had a kid and lived about 10 years lol
I honestly feel a lot of remorse about looperman.com and the ##### I said as an arrogant bully towards sound? I was there and possibly was a catalyst for the wipe that changed this site, and I kinda drifted off after that (got way into jazz and post-rock). But my relationship with the mods and my drug abuse generally made my life a nightmare, but by my misfortune I am about 3 years clean now which is awesome!
I believe to grow as an artist/musician/producer, taking a few steps outside your comfort zone, whether it's a new genre, working with artists outside your fav genres... can only benefit you. Looperman is the perfect place to try these ideas out and get some feedback. A lot of pop can be crap but a lot of pop is pretty good too. Listen to Karen Carpenter sing, absolutely one of the greatest pop singers ever. You can't deny the Carpenters "bubble gum" image but the songs were great and still are.
The song is decent, plenty there to enjoy. There's a nice driving beat, a bit subtle but it gives the song a sense of movement and tension while the vox soften it a bit. Cool man!
I'm sure there is something to be learned whether
technically, melodically or rhythmically from all the
genres. I try not to restrict myself to the trends of the
day or a particular genre. Not to say that the trends/genres of today aren't valid but, to not be cut off from the music from of past in all genres, that has influenced and played a huge part in the music of today.
Personally I only see benefit in taking advantage of listening to as much music as possible and seeing the beauty in it.
This is so good! I like the textures, the hi hat is gritty, the low is deep and unassuming, the melodies are great and sweep you away. Nice layering and panning of all the sounds you've created. Well done Altin!
Ah, the destroyer of worlds, Robert Oppenheimer. Recently I've been watching docus about the Manhattan Project and how the scientists felt about the bomb after it was realized it would work at the Trinity test. You've created an ominous and dark mood with this track which fits the situation at the time and how many scientists felt then. Well done!
Kinda reminds me of Nine Inch Nails a bit. Some Trent Reznor vox and I'm all in! Punchy beat and a dark feel to music. Decent mix, loud and in your face. Cool!
Was diggin' this from the first note! The lyrics are simple but say so much. The bass was great. The guitar was tasty as hell. Man you put me in the summer mood and just so happens we are getting summer weather this week.
Cool man, I like that you liked it! Starting the slide into winter here so u enjoy that sunshine. I'm going to ease the transition by drinking more dark beer instead of pale ales !
I thought the intro was great, it set the mood, was a bit cinematic and creepy as hell. The fast parts were a stark difference and got the heart pounding. I like the Children of the Corn 2021 idea, ha!(cream corn this time)
I agree, feels like a chase when it gets going and with the mumbling, it sorta distracts from trying to get away faster.
Well put together idea. Cinematic to me. Would love to hear this performed in a club and get to physically feel the PA pounding.
Thanks you for listening and commenting. I appreciate it!
I started making digital music back around '99. That whole time I have always been told that it sounds cinematic, or "soundtracky". I guess maybe because I use a lot of ambient sounds and audio clips, and I don't generally follow the standard song formula. Who knows? Either way, as long as people like it, I'm okay with it.
"Children Of The Cream Corn: Welcome to the gRave!". Glow sticks and machetes, Pacifiers and scythes!
Thanks again, Wayne. Have a good one, and take care.

Cool track! These guys had lots of energy in their music. Mix sounds great! We used to play All the Small Things, really got the folks up and dancing. Hope you can get some vox on this, good luck!
Very cool man, something totally different than the usual here at looperman. Although I was never big into his music, like buying his albums, I can still appreciate what he did and enjoy his music.
Well done piece of music Mr. Jynxz! We've lost some legends lately, sad to see 'em go and lose all that talent.
The ones that write themselves are usually the ones that are the best. Simple and to the point, the "less is more factor" shining brightly here. I dig this, very cool idea man!
Well now that you've emerged from the shadows and posted a song here you are gonna get your first review. :) I'm not an electronic music producer so I won't get all technical but I'll tell you what I think of the track.
I liked the intro, the synth and how it arpeggiates is cool. You have some good changes to keep the song interesting, in other words you aren't repeating the same 8 or 16 bars over and over. The "lead" synth is very cool, the melody isn't simple and it adds a lot to the track. The lower synths add that ominous feeling. Some cool effects as well add interest. It has a cinematic feeling to me, a sci-fi thriller sort of idea.
Lots of energy in this one. I hope it doesn't get old that I keep telling you how wonderful Lauren's vox are but they are. I like female singers with attitude and angst in their voice, singers like Chrissy Hein of the Pretenders for instance. Another gem!
I love Lauren's voice and I wanted to do a song that "shakes" my head, even though her voice is a bit more pop than rock, it felt good to come back to my origins!
thanks for listening , Wayne !

Gotta watch where you're stepping these days i guess.
Put a smile on my face from the start! Loved all the elements of this. The variety of sounds and effects was surely fun to listen to. I like a more lighthearted, fun approach to music, which I assume most meatnuts do.
Nice song, nice little bits of instrumentation in there other than bass, drums and guitar. Those sounds help to build the feel and mood of the song. Vox are nice and another solid track you put together Michel.
I was on the same page as zootman, I instantly thought the Specials too, he. I like Odarka's vocals, she has a great delivery. Guitars have a cool chorus sound to them like thru a Roland Jazz Chorus amp. No complaints here!
How sweet can music be? This sweet actually. Such a complete track, the music is fantastic, the vocals/backing vox are so nicely mixed. Congrats to both of you, beautiful!
The idea is solid and I agree with Terry, needs a few things like Eddied Vedder vocals, snappy drums and a deep bass. That's all, lol. Great bones to a song!
Nice solemn track Michel. The vox are nice, professional sounding. Trying to make a comparison to the vocal track, reminds me of a few singers but not one in particular. I guess that's a good thing.
At first I was wondering how dubstep was the genre as it started out as a fine piece of cinematic/orchestral music. As the song progressed I saw how you developed some dynamics by adding some of those dubstep elements, some subtle but effective to build the track up and create an interesting piece. Liked how you ended it as well, nice track!
I like the mix, nothing's overpowering anything else and I can hear all the elements of the track. Cool vocals, I like the reverb/delay? on it. Well done!
