But you have a really great presence in there.

on Evolution is Now by CosmicMerkaba
First off, I wanted to state that I am listening on some crappy Altec Lansing speakers.

But nonetheless... I definitely liked what I heard.

I really dig/dug your avatar, the chakras and the basic message.

I am really into perception over reality. It always trumps reality.

Don't check out my work, it is disappointing.
But keep it up!
:)
CosmicMerkaba
CosmicMerkaba replied Unknown
lol Why would you not want me to check your stuff out. I loved it! Very eclectic style and obviously you are operating on a higher frequency here because you understand the perception of what people believe to be real. Of course it's never good to be egotistical that's what killed our spirituality. Well that along with organized religion. But this is art and art is the closest way to bring our thoughts and creations from higher dimensions into this physical 3rd density. Give yourself some more credit! Want to collab sometime?

on BeatingHeart (In Progress) by Cinas
hah.. you want to give up?

... man... I should have given up years ago.

I don't do it.. for any other reason but for the chills you know?

It's weird.. to be completely base and grotesque about it, it's like masturbation or sex.

That groove... The feelings...
It's almost the same for me when I am just ... In that moment and that place.

I am not vocalist you know?
I have the ability to determine pitch and readily drop notes, but my voice doesn't have this depth of control and emotion.

Runaway while your hearts still beatin'.

Sick...
I can play guitar.. and I do all of everything else with my guitar.
Altho I can play a violin, and I sometimes rent a harp.

I like harps.
Super hard to tune, but AMAZING instruments.

I love the feeling of BLASTING music and listening to my instruments feedback acoustically to the music.

It's like they are singing with you lol

Good job.
Don't stop.
It'd probably be a bad financial move.
Because you could probably bank on it if you hit yer niche and be fearless.
But that's the hard part.
OH, besides the loathing of the muse that you can't ever truly know.

i think creative depression is the term you're looking for. when chemical depression isn't low enough. ;p

and furthermore musicality and sexuality go hand in hand. however i prefer the rush of performing live to anything. ever.

HOLYSHIT YOUR VOICE IS AMAZING.
O.o

Umn... Besides.. my complete awe.
ARE YOU PLAYING AND SINGING?!

holy crap.

But um...
My techniques for guitars, are putting the mic about 12 inches from the 12 fret. Especially if it's a condensor, But if yer usin' a directional, sometimes the bridge gets some very interesting overtones.

Actually ! You know.. like.. in my "huge" productions, I will put like 4 guitar tracks on about 4 takes. and then pan them so I don't deal with too many phase issues, altho if you are doing seperate takes you will get a very stereo sound.
Then if you pan to taste, and do have the option to mix and match directionals with condensors, you can get this huge landscape.
And if you play really tight (that's always the hard part) then you can get also very interesting sub harmonics and overtone harmonics that will make a 10 dollar guitar sound like a martin...

I heard the click of the tape!!!
This is on tape?!

You know.. I dunno what yer running, but they gots these M-audio audiophile cards for like 25 dollars that have no latency and very low noise to harmonic distortion.
Very nice and 25 bucks.

I don't understand usb you know?
even USB3.0 is dumb to me.
It's all about that bottlenecking that happens as information is forced into the computer, computer has to decode the I/O operation, and you get all types of latency, dither, lag, blanking... bullcrap ..
DOWN WITH USB!
lol

Firewire is better.

Hah, I should upload some of my tapes where I am playing..

What's nuts,... is that .. I know how I said I hated my music.
But actually I still look fondly on my piles of tapes and reels.
It's funny.

Now I have 3000 dollars of digital power, but a crappy 1/4 tape is still better.
Sigh.

AMAZING.

You fuckinrock.
Cinas
Cinas replied Unknown
yeah i was playing and singing and ran the handycam which has a small condenser mic (apparently most video cameras do) just to be able to look back and kind of get a gauge of what the sound was like. then i ripped it from the vid and stuck it here cuz some folks seemed to enjoy it. so thats about as raw as it gets. if i can ever get this studio gear working and write a few songs i think id be in a better mood. >.< its a disorder i swear the music is in my head all the time.

Hah, the sidechaining on the strings is very very nice man!
hahah
I never even thought about trying to incorporate a breathing compression to string arrangements.
Kinda gatey float feeling.

Yay!!

I would like to see more?
It might also be very interesting to change the frequency of the loops via step or re-tuning?

You know... drop it down 3 steps so you hit a minor 3rd and get a dark moment, bring back a crescendo and then pull in a quick move and drop the good vibes again?

I am impressed!
Love it!

on Temptation ft Minette by ParkerMusic
I love minette's work.

This is great, Altho .. I can hear the warping a little, but.. it kinda adds to the ... feel of it?

Bass and drums cool, and I liked the synths, the high part reminds me of something warped up 48 octaves lol. I love doing that stuff!

Humn... did you acidize the pellas?... I dunno.. I can't remember for the life of me how Acid works, but there's a way to smooth stuff in different keys and stuff.

BUT, despite all that, ... this is awesome.

Amazing lyrics btw. lol
but yea.

Definitely agree with n0mad23, this definitely "feels" like you guys were hanging out and just nailed it.

Nada on the chemicals for me either..

WOW, great work.
I would have liked more presence allround, like the vocals had this thing about them, and it was AWESOME>

BUT
on yer drums they just kinda went
BOOM
TSH
BOOM BOOM TSH
BOMBOMBOM TSH
and I loved it!
don't get me wrong, but you could added a presence there?
Perhaps centrifuging around the vocals?!

Awesome strings, but all around
YOU have a hit, but there needs to be a presence about all instruments.

I am guilty at this too.

Awesome mix and song. Great stuff.

Thank you for the download.

Send me the midi and I will play the guitar...

I would look at the stereo panning of the vocals, focus them... Try a mid/side converter and get them very center, but then! Try an place them over the top.

JEssuzzz that's an awesome accapella.

Feeeuck. lol

BUt yea, the drums need to be way more forefront man, in my humble opnion. I would put them way forward in the mix, and then base everything else upon that.

Just my opinion.

MAN? Can I be honest with you?
I really really like your production style, and this one is like... kinda shocking.. I LOVE IT, don't get me wrong.. I am like.. PROUD of you for doing this, but why does this sound soo off

*BTW, I am listening with headphones.

That being said... I want you to know this is amazing.
This is great.

ON them vocals, MONO
Bring drums forefront and the focus, guitar is ok, but I would happily do this lol

Bass is great.

There's too much focus.. I like my stuff very mono and then do panning after the fact!!!
BUT please know I do everything by headphones.

Feeeeuck once again, because these lyrics....?

IS she hitting someone?

Let me treat some stuff?
Hah..

I love it man.
Either way.
This is music.

By far my favoritist part was the use of dynamic control on this.

The lingering pads, awesome freaking drum work. I wonder if Roberts usin' the midi a bit more these days...
awesome.

God I love drum and bass.
It kinda switches the focus from the kick, snare operation, to the snare and hi-hat.

I am doing ninja moves to this while listening.

Awesome.

Damn man, do you produce for any of the local cats around there in the area?
I knew a couple dudes that were pretty good up around north Seattle.

I like all the artists that you shoutout on your influences.
You ever seen a cat named KJ sawkwa?
He does this amazing freaking cover of MuteMath but live drum and bass like LTJ bukem on a drumset.
It's freaking epic. Google that shiz lol

2. Bass.
3. Drums.
4. Embellishments.

You got the drums and embillishments...

Less on the panning and maybe throw a highpass filter on the vocals?

It may help.

Holy crap.

This is awesome.
Love the screech the most.
Yeah, On the ins on your computer, you have the option to switch vocals from stereo to mono,... in fact, most setups are mono, and then afterwards transported to a stereo focus.
Like... Californication and Underneath the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Almost everything is done mono. and then later done mono. (EDIT, STEREO lol.. Monomonomonostereomonomonowha?) lol

on This needs vocals by StephenPotter
More subtle automation?

You can do WONDERFUL things with automation as drum and bass has taught me.. I try and think of it all like a LIVE experience?
You know?
My music
your music
Don't be confined by bars.
FU4cK that.

We live in that fraction of a second reality.
I say try bump them drums.
I want to "ooomph"
My kicks.
I want to be punched by my snares.
Just saying.
The eq Solo was awesome like apple sauce on pork chops.
You could possibly find some multiple eq's to "provoke" a vocal?
It can work on the bass and your cymbal EQ region?
just saying.

Just look deeper into your mixes. Save many times and go off on tangents.. Look for symbols within archaic structures of melody.
You rocked it on this.
Focus on the rump of the track not the sparkle, you definitely have that covered. This is awesome.

StephenPotter replied Unknown
yeah, the EQing on the drums and on the bass is WAY off on this track from the sound I originally wanted, simply due to the fact that when this was originally made in 2009 I didn't even know how to EQ (well, except for on EQUO on the pad sequence thing, but I don't think that counts)

The EQ part that you described was fl studios EQUO plugin with some automation on the band shifter. I just analyzed the pad then shifted it, nothing too special but I thought it sounded nice.. still do, its an effect I think I need to retry.

Thanks for the great review though!

lol you and your chimes lol

I love the melody, not something "heard" before.
I get really "ehh" with music, because you kinda hear the same damn melodies over and over ya know?

The thing that is soo endearing about the piece is that you have this innocent melody box playing over

Dang on no d/l, I would love to remix/remaster. I wouldn't post it, I just get obsessed with levels.

I particularly enjoyed the 4 conversations between the strings and the bass and then your music box mastery.
CHimes!? lol... Do me a favor?
can you record a track with wind chimes?
