I'm a TechnoShaman. Stopping is no longer an option.

Don't worry. I'll be making music while laying on my deathbed.

Glad this one's working for you!

on Que Tengamos Suerte -Collab Kikajon- by Vicen
Yeah great voice man!
Did you try some compression?... I think a very very light setting would maybe put the already fantastic vocals out there a bit more.

Really good vox.

Beautiful, gave me chills and thrills.. It's all I ever ask for music, and when she delivers I am very happy.

You definitely got your finger wrapped around it musically, but have you tried this mix of music on multiple sound systems?
It feels really good from the crappy setting I am on over here, but I think you definitely have a wonderful track!
Well done!
Vicen
Vicen replied Unknown
Yes you are right on your side. I tried to compression, but the voice was losing strength (or I do not know better). I have a normal microphone and a laptop computer and the program Magix ... I have yet to learn a lot in production (especially in the voice). Any idea is welcome. Thank you for your enthusiastic comment. I am very happy with this song and with the help of Kikajon that gave a unique touch.

Blues dubstep,... nice!

I do want to point out that people typically side with what they like you know?... So I know that Nightingale is all about that guitar, but I really felt I wasn't punished enough by the bass...

But so it goes right?

Lovely track!, I think you and I kinda battle the same musical demons and heeby-jeebies.... Trying to captivate our attention while also making some sick baby making music.

I think you have accomplished both ... but I urge you to not give a feuck. EVER lol

BTW, SGN IS DEFINITELY OUTSIDE THE BOX... I highly recommend his work. SienSystem too, he thinks and programs his own musical devices in C++ Definitely check him out too!

on Spivkurl DMZ by Spivkurl
I always day dream in Rhodes or Nylon Guitar.. Or cello.

I hear the greater melody being carried by something of that nature, but that's the beauty of music!

Man, it's great to see some new stuff from you! I remember for a couple months you hadn't released something in awhile, So it's a really needed breath of fresh air!

Man, yeah, you should try some reverb (EDIT, I heard the reverb) and delay (try some ping ponging delay?) on that piano, I think it would really fill out the track here and there like Stephen mentioned.

Man, awesome bass, really amazing interplay happening stereo wise with the bass.
Spivkurl
Spivkurl replied Unknown
Thank you very much for the in depth review! Yeah, I didn't upload anything for a while because my CD burner was dead, but I got a new one now. If I get around to updating this track, I'll definitely add some reverb and/or delay to that paino. I'm really glad you liked the bass, as it was really fun to create! Thanks for your comments!

on Another Day by WaPer
It's a beautiful track!

I hear more phaser and flangers on this!
Experiment with phasers on a duplicate snare/hihat sound and try mixing them?? I hear something in there!
Cool phrasing.

Very cool.

on Destination Disco 3000 by ResistanceIsFutile
Yeah, I like this.
Good disco stuff,... I guess I only want to point out that I am a freak for dynamics.

I dig it, don't care much for genres, but I definitely felt more "dynamics" on this!

Good vibe!
ResistanceIsFutile
ResistanceIsFutile replied Unknown
I couldn't agree with you more about the dynamics.
It's one of the things I find hardest to get right.
I worked on this one a bit to try and get some more "oomph" but failed lol.
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen.

on The chase by fixxxer
I definitely dug what you have to say on the forums (full of crazies like me lol)

And I like what I hear, I definitely need to get a better system going, as I practically rely on my aged Audio Techna ATH's..

(I only listen to music thru headphones, I sleep with headphones on)

Still, I really like the interplay you have here,... It reminds me of PlanetJazzBass a little....
I always seek out my audio to have call and response (melodically and harmonically) and this has a lot happening rhythmically.

Unfortunately as a metal head, it's going to take more to chill my spine (call me spineless lol)

I feel.. like.. I mean, I DO NOT WANT YOU TO TAKE THIS AS DISRESPECT!!!! because I have faved this, and seriously thank you for the download.

But for me, I like SHOCK value. Things feel very fluid in this, which I commend you for, but I need just something to shock me.
Something violent?

Little girls giggling came to mind.
Screaching on chalkboards (done right)....
Keeping the idea of motion and fluidity, but also having this... HUGE like... ominous minor pad....?

Anyway,
I loved it.
fixxxer
fixxxer replied Unknown
I never take anything somebody writes in a review as a personal insult or disrespect. The whole idea of reviews is to get some feedback and grow from it. It's a good thing that this track doesn't chill the blood of every listener. It would be unnatural if it did. Thank you for taking the time to listen and give some useful pointers for the future. :)

on Tracing Paper by Phyruis
Thank you for allowing downloads,

Great job letting the sand settle on this one.

I particularly like the minor 3rds and 2nds on this.

I think one thing that Trent Reznor had a knack for is the b7's and then pushing them into the major, which I think you pulled off here effortlessly.
Drums are exceptional.
I wish I could play my drums like this.

Levels feel perfect.
The dubstep/reese is very very nice.
I wish I could pull it off like you can.

Goddamn I love those off-notes.
A lot.

Soo perfect how you reiterate them into the mix ...

More ride maybe? Right at about the 6:00 mark...
Tsh tsh tsh, with the loop playing... I think it would lend itself to the visceral appeal of the track.

Sick in all the right ways man.
Well done.
I will be burning my AbePod out to this one.

on Pain In The Streets by MayhemProductionz
I can dig into it, which says a lot.

I just want to pose a question at you man, is the compression working with you or against you?
I have always felt,... that if you can hear the compression, than you may be off... but then again a lot of styles really rely on compression to make things work.

I have some good Thunder loops if you wanna sub out the ones that have the "rain" aesthetic...
Oh damn, that rain tom effect just came in... sick bro.
I love that right there....

Anyway, I have some really good field recordings of rain and thunder on my loops and track page.

definitely cool,
I always want to reiterate that dynamics are one hell of a monster when it comes to tracks... If you can take the extra time on the piano to set up dynamics so it's constantly building in pressure too.

Anyway, I speak this out of full respect, great track man!

on ode to diversionary relaspse by Phyruis
I only rock headphones (my biggest downfall)

wow.

FAVED.

This is .. not dubstep man.
This is better than dubstep that most offer.

This is ...
You have managed to mix oriental/ethnic.. hip-hop/glitch/glith-hop.... I can feel a bit of Trent in there.
and dubstep bass ideas.
Eeeek

See man,... this is what it's about... This is you being free with the idea of it.
No boundaries on this one.
I think that's the beauty of it...

Diversionary in essence means distracting from the main element.

Hell man, whatever it is you are distracting me from, maybe you should draw a couple distinctions and link this to yer dnb roots and say "FACK YOU ALL" with yer middle finger in the air.

I am just a fan, but that's what I think.
Faved.

Very cool, definitely keep at it man, you think outside of the box, which says A LOT. I respect that.

Fack yes.

I absolutely know the compression was intended, but I just want to say that sometimes I am warry of sidechain..

I love it man... that's brutal but groooooved.

Brilliant smooth moves on the whispers.

That's sick.. you just getting started? If soo you are pretty damn good.

on The Science Of Fear (Traxnctrl Remix) -Temper Trap by TraXnCtrl
I LOVE this... I love the idea of Indie and Electronic/techno...
I don't understand why it doesn't happen more.. why both scenes are sooo at odds with either..

Love your bass on this one! Big and wide.

I really really like the idea of mixing like... grunge rock/indy punk rock ideas with techno..
And I guess... like even from the techno end.. throw a cool bit-crunch or a bit of gain on the synth and it starts to sound even more grungier.

I really really enjoyed this piece.

Thank you for the download.
And Fave.
TraXnCtrl
TraXnCtrl replied Unknown
Yeah there should be more of it....I suppose there has been a bit with New Order especially their "Get Ready" Album and they have been an inspiration to me. I also like remixing different genres, because it does make it different.

Thanks for the Fave

on Hello - Martin Solveig (TraXnCtrl Remix) by TraXnCtrl
I looove me some sampled guitar chop and screwed.

I need to get over there at Beatportal lol.. If I do, I will only do Jazz standards of every remix lol

I want to say, that ... I would remaster?... Or at least compress a little.. I just want to throw it out there... I can only tell by listening, but I feel a lot of headroom, and I know these cats are going to go off of mastering, even tho, in doing so, would be completely detrimental in an album setting.

I really really enjoyed when it got grooving at about 3:10
Good stuff!

Love the glitch, but you know I have a weak spot for that! heheh

Thanks!! I thought you would like this one since you put up the sitar loop last night. The drums are from a downtempo beats package. Lot's of cool beats in there. I've been doing music 1 year now. Having a lot of fun experimenting. Trying to be creative and push myself. ;-)

on Frog is Already Elsewhere by Anomelie
lol.. this is so beautiful.

You made a prince!

And did you mother say something about killing it?!

I think music done out of anything other than being compelled or .. just enjoying the waves as they float lovely thru the air .. sweeter than any aroma...
More colorful than any painting... (depth is the key in music I think)

Anyway.. i loved this song. Great drums.
