Wow.
I have absolutely no idea why.. but this instantly gave me the same vibe of Prefuse73's Reads The Book EP. Which is the 1.618th greatest album ever produced.
SO ...
Holy crap.
...
I am going to download this and study it's habits.
Faved.
And holy crap, I f*cking love Prefuse 73, so that's definitely the best compliment I could ever hope to receive. So thanks for that. I actually hadn't yet heard The Book EP when I made this, but I've been catching up with his entire discography recently and absolutely loving it. One Word Extinguisher and Reads the Books are both brilliant.
thanks man. no update. i dont know if there ever will be. havent talked to my man in months and usually if somthins gonna get done, it gets done then. oh well, just posted it cause i thought my verse was ill. thanks for the review. PEACE.
Funny.. I started playing without reading anything and it instantly reminded me of PlanetJazz but you.
I was also VERY pleased to hear some even newer melodic phrasing and arranging. Then I read dungbeatl heh. Definitely the happier side of things!
hehe, interesting. The examined life. I don't do that enough.
If I were too, I think I would probably be stuck around the black keys (sounds like Db major?) and those congos right at 2:25. :)
What was the nature of getting old? You told me that one time.. We are born and time takes forever, and then we get older and time seems to go at the speed of a blink of an eye.
Lol.. I can't believe it man.. You are a powerful force in this world. This music is you.
I actually have absolutely no idea what key this is in - lol. It all came out of the bassline, something I was playing around with in experimenting with DSK BassZ and transposing it to more in the range of an acoustic guitar. I deliberately set out to do something melodic and happy, with a slight vibe of melancholy behind it. What I'm most please with though, is that the sonic interpretation is so close to what I'd conceptualized. I think I'll be doing more of the downtempo melodic stuff!
Awesome man, We appreciate you favin it. Unfortunately my bwoy grizzly is getting ready to break out to Colorado in like two weeks so we're gonna work on some beats this weekend for the last time for awhile :( But I really want him to start a profile so we can keep in touch on the music tip and in general...That dude has taught me a lot over the years...He's a dope dj and producer...HIs wife does the same too...THey are both really good...THanks again brutha...Blume:)
I love jungle beats...
I was spendin' all morning watching KJ Sawka drum on youtube haha... (You probably seen that cat jam, but if you haven't-- do it! Human Drum Machine that man is.)
Dig it a lot man.
Feel good jungle.
Liked your pella on that.
Definitely better title too!
Yes sir me too...lol...I think I have seen that guy before. Freakin sick on those drums...I wish I had coordination like that. But I'm glad you liked my track man, That is huge coming from you and your talents. Thanks big time brutha I appreciate it...Blume:)
heh, being a metal head.. I just hear chunky guitars all over this!
Totally dig this man.
Big time.
Totally in the vein of Pendulum.
Ended kinda abruptly, but I understand if it was in a DJ mix that would make sense.
I also hear the birds chirping in my head with an assortment of ideas on top of this...
But yeah..
Dig it!
Definitely gonna keep my eye out for your further work!
Yeah, it's not the full arrangement yet, where it ends I'm working on a breakdown. I know what you mean about some heavy guitars. Was thinking of trying that next. My guitar is bad tho "as in my actual guitar not my playing" that it puts me off a little.
Like a bit of Metal myself man, was a guitar player in a Metal band for my teenage years and used to listen to not much else.
Kinda agree that some more drum stuff would be cool, but I really appreciated the break around the 2 minute mark.
I think some more cymbal work woulda been cool..
Keep it up!
You are definitely better than when I did my first remix..
Reason is da bomb!
I think the workflow is kinda lame at times tho.... How come the zoom won't zoom in on the area I am looking at!?!?
hehe
Kinda chopsticks thing happening! Movement is very interesting on this!
Has almost a latin flair to it!
Keep it up man!
You ever mess with Record (the other propellerhead program)?
try to click on thr butto nzoom maybe"" :D lol kiding xixixi
thx for rew...glad you like it....
no i never mess whit record,,,to be honest i just started working whit musick 8 months ago i think....but the time is the most problem for me.....why did i say this i really dont know!! :D
I love it man... Very interesting 16 bit melodies...
all over the place! Almost carnival-ish... (in a good way!)
I say this lightheartedly, but I would have liked to see some craziness on the nonchalant melody part..
I really really loved the sfx in thingy at the beginning too.
A synth made up of that would be unreal!
You are in the right place if you wanna deepen your skill!
Very interresting melody and layout.. Which is DEEPLY appreciated over in these ears!
I am gonna take a note and come back and take a look at your waveform later..
I felt maybe some compression on yer vocs and maybe an EQ would pronounce them a bit better... but of course, a better mic is important.
(Do note that I am no expert or anything! I am just obsessed with sound! :)
I like it man.
It's gonna be very interesting to see how you develop as a producer and rapper!
Thanks man, im new to this so im taking all the advice i can bro! Im gonna leave the rapping alone for a minute till i get a better mic, but while i wait im going to try and hone my production skills.
A bit older one huh?
I need to go thru your expansive library and check 'em all out...
I like this! Most definitely got the Mario thingy happenin.
It's totally happy.. but .. the aggressive bass is also kinda cognitively interesting..
It's like the guitarsish and organ have a pensive quality and then the bass is just like BWAAAAAA lol
Really good stuff!
I felt a pad deuling on the half-time around the 3 minute mark / outro woulda been coolish..
Awesome!
:)
Yeah everything of mine is old right now, because my CD Burner died and I can't transfer anything to my internet computer... it's a little depressing.
But anyway, I'm really glad you liked this one. Yeah upon listening to this again, the bass is kind of funny, it just seemed like the best way to offset those organs. BWAAAA
Thanks for all your kind and helpful words! Your reviews are always a pleasure to receive!
Sorry for my last comment about levels.. I guess Shan has apparently integrated a -6db filter on the player.. at least to my mixer's VU meter.
(Probably for good reason too!)
Anyway.. I really really love this one, because not only does it completely unabashedly sound like n0mad23, but it's also most definitely the more melodic of your tracks I have been lucky to witness.
I am gonna have to rack my brain and my library of your work, and see if I can't find that Accordian sample.. I swore you threw that on this?
no.. wait.. sigh
It's been awhile hasn't it?
ANYWAY, this track is awesome.. there's such joy and .. dare I say, unconditional love in it.. it's strange..
You illicit strange things older brother.
Man I gotta come up to Montesano and sleep on your couch lol.
No, the levels are lower than usual on my P. Gabriel remix, no doubt about it.
This one...I think I've finally had it on pause long enough. I thought I was done with this version, but.... The synchronicity is as I write this, my daughter's playing the song I sampled on her trumpet upstairs! I'm taking that as a definite sign!
I love your ears, or more specifically, those places in your brain where you process sonic things. I tried to articulate that in the title - a kind of poem contained in a single phrase - "The Joy in Little Things - ode to a daughter's trumpet." As my current project is Music to have a Rebellion To, I figure it's direly important to offer up solutions as well as create agitation. Let's not switch the power structure, rather let's reinvent it altogether. To me, finding it in friends and family is a key. Real wealth, the kind that can't be plugged into any economic formula comes from things like this. Unconditional love - the source of our word "friend," was "freond" which literally translates to "free love." Power beyond comprehension.
Even if you're the only one who hears it as you've described, I've achieved total success here. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou.
The accordion bit is in "Hybridity - A Subversive Dance." The beginning's probably going to annoy you, but you'll dig that track. I know own the vocal source (Deepest India) so you can probably expect more Sufi singing in songs from me!
I think Abraham Lincoln said that...
or it was Jesus.. .humnnn dunno lol
I like it man!
Definitely FEEL GOOD written all over this...
kinda weird because I am getting this cognitive disonance looking at your pic and then listening to this lol...
It's really great tho!
I love your drum work and the guitars, and subtle background stuff...
Bells kinda loud.. but not like bad loud .. lol.. again with the noticing stuff lol
You are hella talented man!
Keep this stuff up!
I like it!
Lol, Iam sure my mom borrowed the statement from someone of a great philosphy.Yeah the pic makes you click to see who would dress in this fasion? But it makes a statement in express thy self any way you feel fit and want to, Artistic freedom!!
Thank you for your kind words, got lots of rockin roll up my sleve, for Iam planing a whole differnt thing at year end.More beatle,Stones, chemical Romance type of songs with all the energy in the deph of the lyrics, melody and rythum of the song! should be alot of fun! thanks again for your kind words!
Anyway... I dig it!
Some things here and there I was kinda irked on.. but I really do like all the fundamental qualities of the track!
The strings are freaking awesome.
Serious CHILLS on the 3:00 mark.. I love how you kinda inertly dropped the flow down to half time for a moment.
On the pad, goin' "weee-ohhh-wahhh-o-wahhh" I kinda felt that shoulda been drenched in reverb so it was way out on the preferall side of the listeners ears.
Some of the pads just kinda irked me.. NOT in a bad way, but I always take it, like.. if something takes me out of that place of enjoying the music effortlessly, and I start to notice things, I just gotta say something? you know?
Awesome work!
I love the mood!
How'd you do the strings?!?
Great freaking job on those man!
Hey guy, thanks for stopping by and given a ear here, yeah, things dont allways go as planned,I allways going for ultra smoothness in the tracks, but that does not allways happen, and it get very challegaing the more creative you get,Iam fairly new to the digital world of recording and it is just a major blast. I grew up in Nyc with big recorders ,big stuidos and going for big sounds!
The digital world out it on my lap! Iam very excited about even being a part of it!! The strings came from here, where Iam not sure, but I know I edited them by spiting them up and fitting it to the hart of it! So many things I dont know how to get yet, such as fading in and out, speeding up differnet tracks and not the whole meter.things like this.! iam getting it! lol anyways, glad I could entertain your ears! ;)_ and thank you very very much for your review. Given me a better insight on making a better art piece!
i believe the technical genre is metal/glitchstep. niether glitch or dubstep are very melodic on their own. i think youll like irrelevant pudding though. thanks for the listen, this one is still unfinished though
I wondered if the levels weren't just a little too low here, but that was actually deliberate. An idea I was drawing from was the idea of ideas echoing into the future. Whispered warnings...science fiction. The song's really about fascists and normalized violence, and I thought inverting this sonically might be more interesting than SHOUTING, you know? It was a good exercise, this remix - and if nothing else it's given me tools and insights that should translate well into my new works. Man, it's a true delight seeing you on this site again!!!!!
Life and Love huh?
Totally fits the bill....
I was hearing delay on the Rhodes lead.. and fading into chaos...
Some drum variations.. but I know how it goes....
Everything is superb man...
I am really glad to meet your music MCHN.
Yea a slight delay on the Rhodes. It kinda changes with that time stretch on. Just a slight tweak on a preset but really made it a bit better. Yea, biggest weakness is my drums. Usually program up to 8 bars all with variations but I just almost always keep the same 1 bar loop. It's something since the beginning that I haven't broken my writing from. Gotta expand more on that. Thanks for the review again. Cheers :)
I like your description more than the track almost!
NO!
This is giving me serious chills!
I love it man!
Dude...
You got style .....!!
I almost thought of ... you know a bridge would be cool.. but I like the whole flowing of it...
You can tell that the guitars are midi, but they sound soo amazing... makes me want to give Reason a hug lol.....
I think to make this even more a bit endearing would be to have a girl on a HP filter or like telephone effect with the whole "radio buzzing" thing saying "Come Back Home!" or "I love you!" or something you know???
Humnn
Very cool man!
I am going to keep an eye out for your work!
Coming over to hear another!
Thanks :)
Yea, those Reason acoustic guitars are sometimes great for thickening up or layering on top of some of my own recordings. It's funny about the "Come back home" thing. There was at one time a sample from the movie 'Pandorum', with the line "your our last hope" or something. Great minds think alike I guess lol. Greatly appreciate the review. Cheers :)
haha, I started recording this chicks baby crying thru guitar amps lol....
I have been trying to fit my guitar stuff, and I just can't seem to find the "melody"...
I mean, I could use my guitar as a drone, something to entice the lulls of strings... (I like how you did it!)
But wow man! This certainly could be used within a documentary focusing on the minuscule reality that is acids and creation and evolution, and everything--- life....
evolution of sounds...
evolution of thinking...
evolution of the soul!
It's kind of cold, but thriving... unexplainable and undeniable.
I like that we can thrive on those levels conceptually ... you and I... even Dungbeatl!
Yah man, ... this kicks the living crap out of my first collab lol
Three levels of inspiration, (or 5 depending on how you look) each arising from the previous sonic experience - what more can be asked for? I love how the only "loop" in this is a sample from a `pella and that the track's creation reflects the "emergent complexity" of the concept. Thanks so much for this Abe, this was way cooler than I'd expected - the whole experience including the final draft.
Of course I hear more and more stuff in my head over this, which is fun....
I really enjoyed this man!
It's dopeness on multiple facets.
There's a lot of room for eshars vocals or whatever Dwreck comes up with....
I dunno man, I wanna mess with this too!

I won't nitpick, this is excellent work man!
I really dig it!
Definitely U2 thing happening like ImproveWithError mentioned....
Add some verb to the drums and some guitar would be tight..
Some long fading guitar chords one the bridge/chorus thing would be dope.
the reason I call for 'verb is cause there isn't enough personality on the drums.
Some velocity and hard work there would be dope.
I know how it goes, programing drums is a drag most times....
appreciate your suggestions.
i actually love composing/producing drums. this one is a loop, and i usually just let them lie as they are, since most of them come pretty mastered up. but reverb is definitely something i can add to the loop.
cheers for the listen and review! much appreciated...
