eyemgun is epic too..

Hmmn.

Yeah. Something like that ....
Whatever the hell you were doing at the beginning with the phasing was EPIC with headphones on.

You know.. If you do drop something with eyemgun or throw some other melodies, I think what it needs is some droning. But that's just me. I like that kinda Deftones thing where they draw the crap out of an arrangement by just playing a note for like 30 seconds lol.

But regardless... Like I said before. You make the music I wish I could.
Damn you.
Damn you to hell.
And keep it up!
Faved, and downloaded.

sweet glad you like it, yeah i love making it, i just couldnt stand to let others make it, when i knew i was having ideas before people on the radio and MTV and such i was like yeah, i need to keep making music, but it took me forever to get all the tools (which i dont really have enough of the right ones still) but i think most opf the stuff i've learned came from having to work around and make due, so the longer i suffer from not having the proper equipment, the better ill get haha! as for the deftones, yeah the rocked, another band i liked but never listened to alot, i try not to submerse to much into certain bands cause i know they would have a everlasting impact on me creativly that would be hard to mask, non the less, I CANT STOP, so have no fear haha

thanks bro, i love people who love my stuff as much as i do, im not conseided its just equivalant to making your own fantasy girl, not many can do it, so when you do, you tend to really enjoy them...
(i know horrible analogy right? no i have not made any fantasy woman, yet)

as for sound stuff, it keeps getting more crappy as i get more elaborate, so i may have to delve into higher technologys soon...

on reCycling - Incandescent Shivaism by n0mad23
[Draft2 Review]

It's been awesome to follow this piece from it's beginnings all the way to draft two.
Btw, when I replied on gmail, I was A/Bing the draft one to draft two heheh..
So I accidentally replied to the first one! hehe

anyhow, I mean as a piece it's amazing. I am just the type of creative individual that everything must be completely torn apart down to the sub-atomic level and rebuilt lol.

I do really like how you balance this line of Trancish Ethno vibe with the dub aesthetics.
OH, and I guess I really didn't listen close enough but I do hear a bit of that Kinda grain delay action I was talking about, but I did feel the need for a crescendo?
Nonetheless.
You rock!
Shiva the God of destruction and the recycled elements indeed.
Still felt like I wanted more of a crescendo near the end rhythmically (even more so than the outro), but that in no way is a complaint or criticism.

In reply to draft2b
I love it man.. Man there's that brewing. Things broken down to the sub-atomic level and brought together.

LOVE IT.

Man.. I think I do agree with you about the trappings of the all-mighty "Edit" and "Arrangement".
I find it funny.. because I am actually missing a reel to reel occasionally, because it was either hit or miss.
So in you confiding me about the way you process this ... It makes me think about the good old days.

Man you can hear Shiva actually crying.
Thats effing nuts.

n0mad23 replied Unknown
Huge thanks to you for all the fantastic critiques and advice on this one! In "rehearsing" it I think I got too close to the trees again to see the forest so you're advice really kicked me down the path I needed to follow. I hear a thimble full of Shiva's tears are a powerful psychedelic so feel free to sample a sip - lol. I'm thinking it's time to seriously (sincerely?) discuss a collab again. Thanks my little brother.

on Stealing Vodka by Reverse1984
Bah... I wrote a long review and then tried to download it and it redirected me!
GRRR.

Anyway. You are a musician man. I dig that.
I love your Rock aesthetics and your openness to electronica.

It's totally forward thinking, and the whole rhythm section is AMAZING.

I was clicking fave like a machine gun! lol
Downloaded too.

I love it. The breakdown was awesome, and I love how you tapered this off.
Amazing.

EDIT.
Listening again at home... Curious about the title.
And I also really like Spivkurls suggestion.
Some vocals would be awesome.
I would love to see you in a band!!!!
Reverse1984
Reverse1984 replied Unknown
Glad to hear you liked this track. I was actually a little unsure about this one after it was finished...I enjoyed it, I just didn't think other people would really dig it. The title is pretty random, I just slapped that on there. However, back in the day there were a couple of times when I stole vodka, mainly at parties. Thanks for listening, your thoughts, views, opinions are always appreciated on this end!

ps vocals would be awesome, I don't have any that work well with this piece. You wanna give them a shot?

O.o

:p

I was trying to think of just emoticons for this review lol

That saw bass almost made me think of the dubstep stuff! Very cool.

I really love your integration of Rock attitude and still keeping it very digital.
Dope on multiple levels.
Man you have grown a crap load too!!
You have your own sound, and the most undeniable attitude to your work.
I am gonna check out the other new stuff.

Ah if it's not Kate the Great with another track!

:)

Chills with the cello.

IS this live?!?
ahhh
Did you compress the vocals?... I can't really tell.. gonna download.
well..
I do not want to discourage you, or make you feel bad, but there's some things I would recommend. I will be contacting you.

I do want to just say that this is ... just a heartfelt and beautiful piece of music.
Your friend has an amazing voice and presence and the lyrics were touching.

Guitar Cello.. everything amazing.
Kinda excited to see what other things you have up your sleeve!

on Creeper by clinthammerMUSIC
Wow 8bit awesomeness.
Glitchness...
Wow.. you are the freaking man.
Dubsteppin to this in my chair lol
Dude. I would pay to see you spin. Fer real.

Umn...
DUDE... I was actually meaning to ask you, you know.. integrating the dubstep wobble, but then throwing some glitch like effects on there.
AND low-and-behold.. you are doing kinda what I was thinkin.

Something that I would think would be awesome.. on the end of a couple bars, maybe throwing a gate on 1/8 note, so you would get a really cool stutter effect. I was messing with dblue's glitch the free vst (easily over-used, but I was just using the gate function and then automating the speed filter along with some time parameters and it was just stutter heaven.)

And on your build maybe..

DAMNIT you just did it lol.
But yeah.. I was thinking some stutter on the wobble on some end bar action might be kinda cool.
hahahha
....
If you had an album, I would buy it.
But you gotta promise to put reeeeaaallly cool art in it.

clinthammerMUSIC replied Unknown
Thanks a lot Livid! Man, you know how to give a review! I am glad you like my style of dubstep. I thought I was kind of going out on a limb on this one, but I ended really liking the finished product. I have never used dblue before. I have to give that one a try. anyways, thanks for stopping by again!

I really appreciated the slight blue notes from the paddish synthy thingy.

Really cool.

I dig yer vibe man, and in fact, it's a lazy friday at work, so this track is smoooooth.

I would love to hear that delay :/ throw it on that piano!
I also.. and I am just thinking.. on the bass? If it's possible you should throw a filter on it, and slowly up the frequency and resonance so it becomes more peripheral and focused?... That's just a thought.. dunno if it would work heh.

Piano! Yumnnnnnn

Cool vibes man.

Hahha, my crazy self would do anything possible to fit a grunge guitar in there lol

I know this is a bit old, and I plan on checking out yer new one Kite.

Just gotta say off the top, it reminds me a little bit of Kruder and Dorfmeister, and thus, gets a large endorsement from me :D

I really enjoyed the flutes and the shuffle.. somehow both drum patterns together just created this magic.
Piano
everything

This must be enjoyed with cold beverages.

Strings are amazing!
All reason huh!
Wow..

Yup.
Faves.

I really dig this aggressive thing that grime is. It's weird, I need to study up on what "grime" really is, but every time I hear it I instantly dig it.
(the UK form of Dirty South?)

I really appreciated the wobble too... The steppin up strings...

So dope.

I really enjoy dubstep, but don't really have the patience to pull it off hehe.

on Gravy Train by Planetjazzbass
My favorite parts where the harmonics and the bridgish area.

I wanna ride the gravy train!!
heh

What's this about the VST midi bass???!?
Been really thinking about going the direction of guitar in midi out... there's some cheap interfaces with horrible ratings and of course.. Expensive ones with amazing reviews.

APC first.

Anyway I love the track!
Planetjazzbass
Planetjazzbass replied Unknown
Thanks mate..de train takes all passengers and makes unscheduled stops all de time! lol...yeah midi guitar/bass is pretty cool..I got the Sonuus G2M for guitar and the B2M for bass as well..these are a bit iffy, only play monophonically and a little bit of post production midi mapping clean up is required occasionally, but their not bad for the price..I borrowed a Roland Gr2 bass midi pick-up and module ..these are better but still I don't like it hanging off my guitar..what I think I may get is an Industrial Radio Midi Bass..they seem to be the real deal..but I'll have to test one first..about $2500..bit pricey for something you won't use all the time..but we'll see..cheers mate Dave :)

on This Short Life by Planetjazzbass
wow... I had to do a double take really quick...
For a second I thought this was gonna go Hip-hop!
lol
Wow... JFW's synths are totally making me feel the space of time ... how moments float in and out depending on the tonal mood.
(EDIT) OH wait those were yours?! NICE!
JFW's Guitar playing was right on too... I would have a hellava time following the deep waters you treaded on this.
your bass work has SUCH clarity?!
I love how you play it on all the right blue notes. yum.
I am really appreciating the glitchy little tid-bits here and there.

This reminds me of doing LSD. But the audio type.
Great stuff!
Planetjazzbass
Planetjazzbass replied Unknown
Hey Abe...Audio Lsd!(but no Hip Hop unfortunately) lol..it wouldn't surprise me if the CIA discovered away to do it..they'd only lease it to the record companies to give them one last grasp of power..I know what you mean though,it's like when I got this synth sound..a little light in my head went off and I thought..yeah this will work...cheers mate Dave :)

For no apparent reason I got chills in the middle when it was just the birds and ambience... I have no idea, but everything aside, that was the most powerful moment for me.

I kinda consider you one of the loopmasters around these parts..

But damn man...
As far as a producers these numbers don't lie man.

Dunno how this one escaped me.
Umn
The vinyl feel.. the exotic instruments.

More importantly, despite all the production stuff (amazing sense of stereo space man-- I strive for that all the time)

YOU have an amazing groove to yer stuff.
Kinda this aggressive cold but sentimental.
The context fascinates me man.

I would like to hear some more productions out of you, but nonetheless yer loops are amazing bro.

I felt that a flute may be better suited for the "bro-hymn"ish line... but then again either way I like it.

The only part I didn't like was when the dude was wastin' bullets on his clip. lol

Not enough stuff like this.
Hardcore gangster rap stuff.
If you were to throw a weirdo 1986 synth on this with lots of high-end wobble, you would have a track that NWA or brothalynch could rip one on.

Yay!

I have been on a big orcheastral kick lately.

I especially enjoyed this... Very odd phrasing ... A pensive mood.
Title is perfect.
Chorus singing felt a little over the top to my ears, but I that really isn't a complaint.
String on top giving me chills.
Fantastic.

How'd you produce this? What did you use? Your sounds sound really convincing and that can be incredibly hard to do with just hardware and midi.
