This is nice. Good melody and so on. Well played, nice mixed down ..... just relly good stuff for people who are into melodic guitar music.
If you hadn´t it sayed, i wouldn´t never get a differens between the bass guitars befor and after 2:24 ... in fact it sounds like guitar music and not much like bass guitar music. But i bet this is because i am just not a bassman :)
I had done some more "overdrive" to some of the (bass)guitars, to make this track a bit more agressive. For me it is, in this way you made it, a little to soft. But thats only me :)
And like others sayed - this is not to short at all. No need to make it longer. If a song isnt long, then it is just not long. If you make it longer it dosent get better then mostly
What a cool beat drives this song ......
This a lever higher then the most tracks around here
Very, very good work you both.
Realy love this kind off mix between world music and time gliding ..... This sounds like a homage on so much different things that happend in the world of music. GREAT really great. Every singel note, great and vocal work exelent. I love this spiritual sounding tibet mantra style sound. I had to listen more then once and to download it!
It is great to see you again on the site! Thanks a lot for the nice words, I truly appreciate that.
Yes, I was also thinking that some of reverbs on drums remind of reggae music. I didn't actually use any dub delays here (which are very typical to the genre) but thanks for pointing this. There is an interesting series of free 'Classic' effects http://www.freemusiciansresource.com/VST-detail/kjaerhus-audio-classic-series-fx-vst-bundle/ and I like in particular the one called Classic Reverb http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=1872 There's is a preset in there called '80's snare' - I used it extensively on drums here modyfiying slightly some parameters. I think it is very useful plugin, especially when going for a specific old-styled sound.
I am glad that you enjoyed our experimental collaboration. Thank you again.
I am looking forward to work with you on some music as well!
Best to you, Alex
Ivan Opium is in real life Burkart Schmidl and he makes real strange soundproductions and stuff ..... exelent stuff for listening (in a way) and he was one of the inventors of World Music ..... one of the last things he did can be seen on this video on his homepage.
I bet that you will enjoy the interface he use there to create his music
Cool one Dan. Very nice mix of intresting things.
This one reminds me on some old stuf i listen to in the 80´s.
Lots of peoples tryed to do something "special" and or new that time. Nice to see that right now also peoples around who do the same research.
After listen to this one i tryed to find some old stuff from that time to listen to and it was realy realy hard to find BUT at the end i had sucsses on spotify
This is maybe far away from this track but i believe that you will found some of the tracks realy "intresting"
I managed to listen to the one Ivan Opium song. you are right - he is using an interesting scale and some unique sounds. I am having trouble with Spotify and found the Opium song elsewhere. regards - Dan
Didn´t watch the painting at listen, cause i just wanted to hear it pure and maybe later with colors :) .....
All i hear is a cool work. I am realy in a way in love with this little one but i couldn´t emagination any picture, so i will wonder whatkind of picture you used to get inspitationed to create cool music in this special style.
Sounds like you had fun while work and thats always a good thing.
Hi, Joe. I'm glad you had a chance to listen to this. the picture is by Karsten, a fellow looper, also from Germany. I am still refining this idea of notes relating to colors, and maybe rhythmic relationships to the textures of the painting etc. lots of fun! best regards. Dan
This is a nice dreamy one. Very relaxed and chilly composition. I realy enjoyed this cool groove track. Had the feeling of sitting anywhere in mexico in the shadow, with a drink in the hand, feets on the table and just watching around .... good one
Hello Joe,
How you doing?
Thank you very much for your kind feedback.
I do really appreciated.

I am going to address the drums issue as soon as I m back home at the moments I am riding the clouds.

I am glad you liked it.

Sounds a bit bluesy to me. But who cares genres realy? At least not me, who made at 3 track 2 faults at that :)
Smooth and cool and calm and relaxed and dreamy ..... mmmm ... real nice guitar work here. This new baby sounds like an old profi. Very enjoyable 3 minutes.
I am not sure but maybe you should let the piano shine, one time or so, a bit more in front.
Wish I could've pushed the keys a little more, but I didn't do the bed
track " It was a 1:30 clip that I chopped up to make it 3:00min.
So it is what it is, never the less, thanks for stopping in Joe and
for your Comment...
Realy well played and a nice "sad" feeling comeing from the music.
I bet, if you sing this 10 times in one go, and think always on this poor people that searching for something they already have, then you in the mood of feeling "sad" :)
Hi Joe, thanks for the encouragement. The message I am trying to portray in a nutshell, that there is no need to be sad, that we have the gift of choice, and we can choose to be happy instead of being sad, because happiness is a feeling already inside of us that we need to focus on.
Nice sound for this intro.
All other sounds and synths in this wild track are realy great.
This is an exelent - headphone - track.
I bet it would be much fun to walk to streets full with cars and people and all are bussy and have this one on the mp3 player ......
Like always i enjoy your wild mixes between old 80´s feeling and new things. And also your way you made music just so that the music burns itself into the brain of the listener. A little bit like a ride on a knife edge. Cool!
You are right about the headphone aspect, as this was mostly composed and mixed through headphones. "I bet it would be much fun to walk to streets full with cars and people and all are bussy and have this one on the mp3 player ...... " You have just described much of my weekend habits during the time I have been making this track... songs like you describe are definitely some of my favorites. Can't go wrong with a little brain burn! Thank you for that! Your words are quite pleasing to read, as usual... I appreciate it!
I am not sure but i think this high fluet sound is just a little to loud but realy only a little .......
Everything sounds like it should be and gives this track a real cinematic feeling. So if you wanna have a cool cinematic track, you could stop and all is good! :)
I can imagine some vocals to this one but they sound dark angry and would change this track to a kind of trap rap .... i am not sure if that would be something good :) but maybe it would be a real cool and good made trap song, who knows ...... just give your vocals a try
Thanks Joe, I wanted the high flute big and apparent, but it may be just a little too much and will take a closer listen. I imagine the vocals being dark as well, and may give them a shot. Thanks for stopping by :)
Das klingt ja verdächtig nach dance Musik.
Kann es sein das es dance musik ist? :)
Nice one. Overall sound is well made. Synths sounds also nice. The melodie is catchy. Sounds like a good dance music production for me. I bet that the most wouldn´t have any problems to dance to it, if this one would be played at a club.
Lady Faith and Sir Bullett, mmmmm, sounds a bit like people from a western movie :)
The voice sounds good to me. So i would say you where right, when you told us that he is a skilled one. But all know that a engineer cant make some dirt to gold, so YOU done the vocals realy good :) - i realy enjoyed them!
Overall sound sounds also good to me but is far from what i hear normaly. But for some special moments, when a kind of power will be needed, it would work perfect. This is very powerfull.
The only real melodie (for me) comes from the vocals and like said befor - real nice work -
The synth work fits well to the track.
I bet that people who are into this kind of music, will love it.
:) it has a little bit of this feeling from "OUT RUN" the game from sega. And i mean that realy not bad. I loved that game ........ you only forgot to insert this -check point- sample :)
Just made for a movie. It´s all like you told us BUT
i am sure she just waits for the right monent to come back on the screan.
Maybe when the camera goes slowly from the cars that follows, over all the bikes behind, to the place where her coffin will be driven slowly in the oven.
The camera drive is very slow and only ends when the flame burns the coffin already. you can see that only through the small window in the door. If the camera has arrived at the window, there is a cut. The music ends.
the next close-up shows how she jumps burned out of the coffin and shouts: brain ........
Thats the part where the next Phatkatz song starts :)
Hello Joe,
