on Xyilent - Atlas by XyIlent
Sounds good. Deep and wide. Could be the beginning or a snipet of a track :)
The feeling is cool and gives a kind of pictures into the head. Maybe you should work on it and make it a little longer.
Well sounding synth sounds. They have something warm and relaxing

Really appreciate the comment about the synths because ive been making my own of late and been kinda proud of then :D haha

Yeah ill maybe think about extending it but not sure, it seems to do the trick at the length. Dont really see much benefit in having it longer but dunno. Thanks man :)

Hello Joe!

I am glad you liked this version! Thanks for your nice words and your appreciation to what I do - I really wanted to keep it very minimal this time. Sure I will be making more electronic in the future and will try that other Agent23 project as well. I will contact you as soon as I get inspired.
Thank you again for your vocals and all your support! Alex

I could really enjoy this little walz style rock song. Once i did a walz by myself and i wondered how beautiful melodies comes while playing in 3/4 ..... Your track sounds very well and your vocals fit fine to the music you created and have a nice sound.

on My Contest Intrumental - Opinions Needed by BradoSanz
Ok, i think all sounds good, clear and well mixed stereo. The guitars have a nice sound and all in all it is a well made and mastered track.
But i wonder a bit about the harder parts in it. Cause i never heard you singing in that "hard rocking" style. :)

I enjoyed the listen and would be happy if i/we once get the chance to listen to the complete song with vocals on.

I don't know if it is a winner track cause i never know what people really wanna hear but for me it sounds like a very well made pop song. And i wish you both much success at the contest

Hello Steve

Whenever I read something from you about, the way as thou doing music, then i see how uneducated i am.
Your answer to Greg is really totally wild. I really love that :)
Same i can say over this track - i love it.
The bass is fantastic! It sounds so good on speakers and headphone. Very nice mastering.
This track is a kind of easy listening without getting bored at all for me (and that is very rare in my case at easy listening)
What else can i say?
You done all like always :) just great.
Nice sounds, nice mixing, nice mastering, cool groove stuff with a cool dynamic and gentle little melodies.
Very enjoyable.
And the best is really that you done all with knowing what you do :)

This is really excellent stuff.
I enjoyed bevor music from your hand and also from Torax but this remix is special. All is so well made and so nice calm and friendly .... and die Nebenwirkungen are also at this track but only good one's. They let you come down for a real close listen. This track is like a musical pill to calm down.

I really enjoyed the listen to this one. Hope to hear more stuff like that :)

You done a great work here Alex!

Thank you Joe! I appreciate your nice comments.

The original 'Nebenwirkungen' song is 120 BPM and it is a kind of blues https://soundcloud.com/toax/toax_run_12_nebenwirkungen
I did it at 86BPM and it is overall a chillout style with use of few plucked instruments (airy harps and like) and soft synthesized string pads as well as gentle epianos. I made entire arrangement directly on Roland synth by using it's presets and soundbank sounds. JunoDi has also attached software editor and I can actually create my own patches - so far I have spent about 2 hrs with the editor in overall but it has great possibilities - it will probably take me few months until I will find enough time and energy to open it again. Programming is quite complex and time consuming at first - soon or later I will be focusing on creating and using my own original sounds more (I hope).

I am glad you liked the peaceful nature of the track - thanks also for your appreciation on the production matters. It is probably the more complex composition I ever made. I couldn't even play it back inside the DAW properly and had to mixdown few sections many times to record the keys and other stuff but it was rewarding.

Till next time, Alex

on I Fall Down v2 by Spivkurl
I am not sure what you had done really but it works well :)
Right now it sounds in a way much more "cleared up"
kind of less raw. In a way i have the feeling that it doesn't sound so much 80's like the last version but that can be just an error with my today perception. Can it be that the vocals sound better and/or more in the foreground now?
I would say you done a good update cause it was a very pleasant listen. And for this updated version you got a fav from my side.

Spivkurl replied 8th Apr 2016 - 9 years ago
Thanks for taking a listen to the update as well! Bringing the vocals more to the foreground is definitely one of the things I focused on, plus enhancing the vocal effects. I also did some additional automation to improve the transition from section to section. Cleared up the low-mids slightly. Also did some very detailed alignment to improve the phase of everything. After that, some subtle adjustments to the mastering were in order. I'm glad that you found it to be an improvement! Thanks for listening!

on KickLick by Tinka0
Not bad :)
Maybe not really what i would call industrial but who cares :)
I miss some synth sounds on this mostly percusive track.
But it has a nice extreme dynamic and is very powerfull.
It is not that kind of music where i could listen to the hole day but for some special moments it fits really well.

Good work

I haven't a clue what how my music can be boxed.. It's either heavy metal or industrial.. I would prefer to term my own genre..

I did try some synths but it took away from the feeling, although the "hard house" sound does come from a synth (heavily processed of course)

I hear that a lot and agree.. Thanks a lot for listening man :)

on I Fall Down v2 by Spivkurl
Hello Spivkurl
Another very creative track from your hands.
Kind of Punky electro speed wave. Has a lot of 80's feeling for me but only to the good offroad stuff from that time. I really love the speed and the freshness, cause it fits cool to the little melodies inside. Cool lyrics by the way. The synth work is great like always. So much good stuff is going on that i can understand that you had to much things in your head and hadn't no brain power over for walking without falling down :)

I really enjoyed this track and it stays still in my mind and i listen to it 10 minutes ago :) thats a good sign

Thank you Joe for the friendly comment on the early version of the song! I'm really happy with how all the hardware recordings turned out this time, and the vocals on the new microphone as well. Your genre/style interpretation works for me. I love post punk and 80's stuff for the most part! Makes me happy that you liked this one. I'll reply to your other comment next. Thanks again!

on on that note by promenade2239
Ah, this one reminds me that i should do in between all the rock and blues stuff that i make right now together with Phatkatz, some electronic music ......
I really could enjoy the listen all the way and i don't think that it needs really some drums or percusions .... but i am also sure that it will sound brilliant with some of that ;) .... Very deep stuff for sure. Exelent synth work ( i wish i had also a Waldorf one).
You really getting deeper and deeper into that electronic genre. I wonder how deep you will go :) For sure i will listen to your stuff, cause it is really well made.

All the best Alex

Hi Joe, I am glad you liked my new electronic experimentations. This one may be developed further for sure and I am also curious about the results.
It is electronic work of Pete Namlook and german electronic in general that inspired me - I think Blofeld synth is a perfect tool to do quite similar stuff.

I am thinking of our project as I actually deleted the last version of Undergroundsound because there were some issues and I was not really happy with my instrumental. I have some time on Sunday and I want to make a new version of that one using again your vocals and new synths. I can't start any new collaborations but there is a lot of materials I can work on. We will see...I will let you know for sure. Definitely I will be producing slower from now but more 'in details'.

Thanks for nice comments!

All the best to you too,
Alex

Thank you for such a nice comment!

Surely there is nothing much about Antonio to celebrate at the moment. Honestly I'm just simply playing sheet music here.
It will probably sound strange but there is a need to acquire more 'patterns' under my fingers. This is the only way I can grow musically.

on Mainframe by RenzWilde
Hello Renz
First i have to say that i am a real big fan of the original Tron movie and maybe a bigger one of the free game - amagetron advanced - i didn't see the compleete legacy movie but what i saw wasn't what i hoped to see ......
To your track i can say that it has something that fits with the original movie. I think it comes from your "easy" synth sounds you used that realy works good with this "wide and softer" synths. Very cinematic for sure. So it is a good one for this cinematic genre. The mix sounds great. So wide and clean and relaxing. I realy enjoyed the list my friend. BTW nice to see something new from you

But it would not fit with the game for me, cause there i need much more power and a more driving beat :) But for sure that dosen't matter at all, cause i believe you don't know any about this little game ..... if you like easy and quick action and can handle your keyboard well this game is realy something great ... i love it cause it is fast and everybody can win sometimes and you never have to wait to long for the next round ..... if you ever try it, tell me
cause i would love to have a ride on my lightbike against you :)

Now that helps Joe! Thank You.
"At the time the genre arose, important synthesizers were the Korg MS-20, Emulator II, Oberheim Matrix and Yamaha DX7.
Typical EBM rhythms are based on 4/4 beats, mainly with some minor syncopation to suggest a rock music rhythm structure."

Since this is using the Korg MS2000 which is an emulator of the MS20 and the Yamaha RM1x which has some patches from the DX7 in it's banks and the fact I use a 4/4 beat in a rock like way means you have won the genre challenge my friend. Never heard of this until I met you. And from what it describes you are spot on. congrats.
