on Snake In The Past by Spivkurl
This is sound in a way i like it.
Dynamic and powerfull and also a little bit agressive and hypnotic and on some places near to the border to -stop it, i can´t handle it anymore- i love that a lot. Nice speed and extreme cool synth sounds around. I love this nerve, hypnotic one that goes close to mind blowing.
Vocals fits good and i enjoyed the lyrics as well.
In a way it has a kind of the 80´s feeling to me and thats always something cool

geiles teil!

Hey joe, thank you for the kind words on this piece! "Stop it, I can['t handle anymore" sort of sums up how I've been feeling in reaction to say many aspects of life lately, so I appreciate that it shows through. Aggressive and hypnotic were both part of what I was aiming for. I have trouble not bringing psy/goa trance influences into most things lately, I find that it makes the time spent working on the music more enjoyable as well as making it disappear as it happens. Very happy with how some of the hardware based recordings turned out on this. Happy that the lyrics were okay, they were mostly written in two sessions about nine months apart... influenced by different situations, but working together for the mood. I always dig 80s sounding stuff as well, so thank you for that comment. I appreciate all your support!

Hello EpicRecord

Very nice one and very well played. Same with the production at all, realy clear and good sounding. Vocals fits to the music and i bet the people around you will love this track.

If i listen to the most christian music here in germany, then i wanted realy often to run away but this is just nice music with a christian message.

In a way i am happy that i don´t understand the words compleetly and can take them just as a sound, ´cause to much believing makes me mostly nerves :)

Realy good work and for sure a hit for the people who believe.

I enjoyed the listen

This is a real great collabaration.
Your work set the focus extremly well on the guitars.

Did you play over the guitar or did he play to your music?
(dosen´t matter to much, ´cause it sounds very well)

Cool one and i enjoyed this one a lot.respect!

thank you Joe!

the other day I have sent a funk backing track to ferryterry and he recorded many different cool things. I made this track this Sunday morning juggling with different parts of his guitar lines. I found 2 different chord progressions so finally I changed a bit the harmonic context (as played on original backing track) behind the actual guitar lines.

thank you again for friendy comments. I am really happy you enjoyed this one.

I will write you soon.

on Rosina Dead Vegas Trek by MORTradio
Hi there

Let me start with this
I realy love much of the different parts in this track.
You work with a lot of cool samples and most of them sounds great to me..... 0:00-0:10 is cool also 0:36-0:55 and 1:36-2:20 and 2:35-3:18 and 4:05-4:28
But i also have to say that there are some things i dont like to much right now (all the parts between). Means i think i would like them if you did some rework on them :)

But if i have to say something to this compleete track, then i would say - nice one, with intresting different sounds and things. Much happend and the song dont has any repitive parts.

Dont get me wrong but without your Description, i hadnt any zombie or end of world thing in my mind while listen. The problem for me right now is that i read it before and so i cant say what i had in mind if i had listen to the song without any information :) .... but that is realy not importan. For sure it is a cinematic track.

I enjoy the listen and hope i could help without give you a bad feeling, cause there is no reason for.

Hello Alex

track 1 sounds like a live played one. i like the native female sound .....
track 2 sounds like i dont know but sounds realy cool and good to me .....
track 3 is something special. very expiremental and i like that a lot.
track 4 sounds like something cinematic for me. Sounds like something is around the corner and this something just wants something. i am not sure jet what it want, so better i hide myself and wait until it is not so close to me :)

Intresting and realy good sounding mix. Sounds are cool and nice, like mostly. Loops fits very well.

I enjoyed the listen realy much!

promenade2239 replied 19th Jul 2015 - 10 years ago
hello Joe:)

thank you for checking some of my older work! I appreciate that.

indeed on the first track I played the 'rhodes' live - the bass and lead guitar (it's from Megapaul) are loops. Ethnic vocals by Taratoxic (I used the same acapella on the track I made with ZankFrappa) and spoken words by Janis71. Drum sequences from Ezdrummer and some other drum loops as well as organ riffs and tropical birds are loops also as well.

the second one was created after listening to tennyson's https://soundcloud.com/tennysonmusic/with-you
it was doudei who inspired to listen to their music. There are no loops on this track - just an attempt to create everything myself ioncluding synth automation and extended sound processing (I do not do that very often because I am lazy and always work very fast playing everything from the keyboard). Solo e piano improv line added after creating the main beat so it is just an another jam track.

3rd one is an experimental ambient with some repetitive melodic elements. The last one is more dark ambient even but here this is only a fragment of the full composition - the resolution of a full one is bright, ascending and luminous.

Actually there are loops only on the first track - other tracks were made only using virtual tone generators (vst synths).

I will try to contact you soon so we can finish our collaborations maybe (also the 'Hot Coffe' project).

Thank you again for nice words!

Nice Sunday to you,
Alex

I think the following translation of the lyrics is closer to the original ......

When i get up on monday morning and i do a look into my walet,
then i start feeling ill and my eys starts hurting me.
Once again no money, must be realy this?
When nothing helps, then i just go shopping without money.

I go shopping, i go shopping, i go shopping, shopping without money

And should then appear a detective and he cries out for police
I´ll thump him one on the nose and then I fight myself free

I go shopping, i go shopping, i go shopping, shopping without money

No matter where I look on, anywhere in the world.
OH - I can not understand, the people throw around with money

I go shopping, i go shopping, i go shopping, shopping without money.

Hi 15ludwicke

All sounds good to me. The mix is nice and nothing realy bad in it. Don´t know what is your work, what is original, so cant say any about yours realy .....

But i can say some to the sax. I feel like it could be a bit more clear/fresh, sounds like needed some eq and some reverb.
But thats just a feeling, nothing important :)

For sure it´s a nice track to listen to

Not yet, Joe...haha...I'm still miles away from that level...
Movie makers should rely on kickass composers which I'm not.
For now the most important is that you enjoyed my music and that's a real privilege to me. Thank you so much for that and for this lovely comment!:)

Hello Alex

Wow - cool one.

First i read some comments. Then i followed the link silverman posted. Then i came back and listen. And you had to do some very special, after the listen to this extremly cool Ken Nordine.

AND - You done it.

This is very experimental and i mostly enjoy things like that, if they not tooooooooo jazzy.

Maybe i should try to do some words in this Ken Nordine style for you :) ........

the outro is very special.

promenade2239 replied 21st May 2015 - 10 years ago
thank you Joe!

firstly I am really happy that you liked this one. That only thing which makes it so jazzy is drumming. I used EZdrummer jazz performance but of course the whole thing will sound very different with other drums. The outro thing is already present throughout the track as a background - I only removed the drumming and main synth lead.

Ken Nordine is very cool indeed and silverman's point was very inspiring (but quite unexpected). I didn't realize this weird synth jam will open new possibilities.

I am open-minded to whatever will come up on the spoken word area and am looking forward to collaborate again!

Thank you so much for very nice words!

Best to you, Alex

Thank you so much Joe!

Really happy you liked this version (I changed the original title - hope it still makes sense:) haha. I recorded almost everything on Roland Juno Di and Arturia Microbrute (all this panned-to-the-left synth stuff) with some use of drum loops as well and special single bass sound from buffallus (lol).

Thanks a lot for some great electro inspiration!

Mr. Joe! Hello good sir.

Do you realize that the reflection in your sunglasses makes your avatar look like you're an angry cartoon burglar. Make your vision go out of focus for a second and look at it. Like the black clothed spy from Spy vs. Spy comic. Sorry, writing this with my contacts out. Givin the ol' ocular globes some oxygen.

I am glad you liked the track. I came up with the intro messing with the midi controller's arpeggiator and wanted to do something with it. Thus, Doobie Juice was born.

Take care, and thanks for the feedback.
