Yes...now this sounds like some rapping flow I can get into...unlike a lot of what passes for music these days this is enjoyable....nice schematics..lots of things happening but no clutter or confusion...very good work..cheers planet :)
Very cool!..Ahhh this sounds very sweet..with a big rich sound..you can put your glasses down this is a winner!...love the spread of vocal elements...and the guitar work is very unique and original....I like your style...you've got your own and that's what it's all about...beautiful piece..cheers planet :)
Hi Din...Yeah!..I could tell from the opening bar I was going to enjoy this...you've got a cool sound happening here...close to the edge but tight...just how it should be....viva!..cheers planet :)
GSN...is my favourite channel,I'm welding my browser to this frequency...Way cool dude!
It's interesting listening to the Horn section being used in the more traditional role as a chorus ensemble..I just love the emphasis this brings to a track..nothing beats that "Big Band" sound.....I have to comment on the production...it's "Cooking"...having 24 track's in the mix is amazing, especially as there's absolutely no frequency saturation...the delineation is superb..this is one huge sound!.....Multi tracking I think has finally found it's 'golden example'....this really is brilliant work...cheers mate! :)
Hi Dave, thanks for the positive feedback. I'm just so pleased people like the sound and style of this GSN project. I am in the process of re-mastering the tracks using T-Racks 2.0 (what a program!). I've found the stereo enhancer patch just right to boost and and add sparkle. The one you heard was straight from ableton (what a fantastic program), but I'm trying to get the best results I can with what I've got now (thanks to you). Do you use T-racks much? I'm just getting in to it (bloody fantastic). Just imagine how much studio time it would have taken to get this results, let alone how much! Over the years I have spent some money in studios, and didn't get results close to this. Thanks for your time and continuing support...
Hey..there's a glitch in my soup!...I can see the sanity clause has been rolled out to be signed again....lol. Considering this is a competition entry you get bonus points for audacity! haha this is very cool with the unmistakable gadget whimsy flowing through it...anybody can honk a horn, but put Johnny behind the wheel and your going to get a whole new experience...Viva Gadget!...cool! cheers dave :)
Well I'm dropping in to taste the skank ....and it's mighty fine....I think this is a marvellous example of where an Artist has actually chosen to go back to one of his periods and revisit the experience..the results are spectacular to say the least...it's as if Picasso decided to plunge again into his wonderful 'Blue' era...and share his accumulated experiences yet again but with a manifestly superior technique and intent...Not only does this music represent a watershed of popular performance based bands but also an indicator as to how consummate your grip on the whole musical experience has become....Your work has all the hallmarks from the ground up.....It's Art....cheers dave :)
Great beat..slams in from the word go..no wonder you have to be young and fit to go to a Dance party!....nice bottom end ..I'd call this definitely pumping..with a nice change in the synth line..takes the tempo down for a quick breather...cool work!..cheers planet :)
How good is this!...People that work in chicken factories by and large don't eat chicken...my point being they don't bring their work home with them....Whereas you being a professional musician also have music as your passion...that is an amazing combination and we here at the loop are lucky to hear and experience it first hand....A beautiful track with soul..this stuff just seems to flow out of you..excellent singing that segues into a tasty guitar solo...but when that soprano horn starts all glasses are put down...I do believe that is one of the best introductions I've ever heard of an instrument, all the ground work and preparation for it's arrival almost make it majestic.....simply World class playing......cheers mate :)
Hi Dave, I love chicken! We do a lot of weddings and parties with Jump the Q, anyway there's usually a buffet. After the guests have done their bit, it's then the bands turn to finish it off. One night I ate a whole platter of chicken, there must of been 30 legs, and I ate them all! I felt like Henry the 8th, there I was sat in this wonderful hotel being paid a fair whack, full as a gun. The only problem was this was between sets!!! As you can imagine, my playing in the second set was somewhat foul lol...
Hey Kels...way trippy sound you have happening here....the vocals are superb..love the backing vocals...I'd like the vocals up front a bit more...but that's only a production issue...you have a very new wave sound ..I love this style...cheers planet :)
Hey Curtis.....your tracks are getting better and better..this has real presence and a dramatic feel..the bass line is wicked and you've tied in Slap's sax brilliantly, top notch synth work.....the fades lift the dynamic tension into full on fusion mode....the vocals were a nice touch and lend a cool quality...this really is a great track from your ever expanding musical creativity....great work! cheers Dave :)
Ohh..this is produced so well!....Man I didn't know you could get so many flavours in one dish..tremendous tune!.the little toots of baritone are the icing on the cake..there is so much space for the track to unwind, the definition is superb..I think from a production standpoint this is way up there with your best work..great bass playing and the way you've mixed up the vocals works brilliantly....people are going to listen to this and think Wow, those guys are way good..when they find out it's one dude on his creative lonesome their going to fall over....dis is de best mon!..cheers Dave :)
I devoured my way through Ska...as you rightly state it's a great night out when this style is played..always! (provided you kept out of the way of the local skin-heads..lol)....This is....Fantastic!..talk about capturing the pre Raphaelite area of ska...I'm waiting for Ian Dury to walk through the door and start clapping..man when you dig into the SlapJohnston bag of musical experiences ..you need a bloody long arm!...awesome work!(I don't like to use that word much..it's been applied in too many inappropriate situations...however this track..as you once said is the Dog's Bollocks!...cheers mate..Dave :)
I don't know how you manage to get those words out..it's amazing..when do you get time to take a breath!lol...great track...I like the dark synth underpinning everything...there's also some nice changes in tempo to balance the mix out.....I don't listen to a lot of Hip Hop but since being on this site..I've come to appreciate it..this is cool gear...cheers planet
This is way smooth and has a very professional delivery..I'm no Hip Hop judge but I do know a bit about diction..and the pronunciation is very clear and well articulated..that adds up to a cracker of a track...good music happens when you can get inside the beat and play around with it on your own terms...this whole piece is a prime example of that happening..very good work!..I can get into this..and that's a fact...cheers planet
Haha..hey Curtis nice drumming ..I really dig the feel of this one..it's like your in the drivers seat of the "Drum Kit from Hell"...it's got a pile driving beat too..it's 'wicked'as they say and probably quite dangerous at high volume levels! lol....cheers planet :)...Oh..I forgot to say, excellent production values it sounds very polished
Man I'm putting on my serape' and big hat and hitting the desert for awhile......Haha..this cool vibe may just herald the second coming of the Gadget man....great track guys!..I dig this one...since he's been gone, the place hasn't been the same..you just don't get the same feel good vibes from the youth invasion that's taken place.......someone told me in the forums the other day.."don't trust anyone under thirty"..Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahaha...cheers Dave :)
These are big open sound canvases your creating here...I like the way your separating the frequencies so there's no cross chatter or competition within the mix....a nice fresh production which moves along freely while maintaining a tight groove....excellent work!..cheers planet :)
Haha...you just might take over this site!...very tight arrangement with a spaced out vibe..a bit like "Dragnet" on acid lol..I must say the production of this is first class with a nice reverb tail on the Fx inclusions...very good work..I'm no authority on Hip Hop..but I've come to appreciate it since I joined this site..and this track is way up there...cool!..cheers planet :)
Now this has a touch of some weird Broadway vibe about it...I'm not sure..it's got the patent Mos polish and groove..maybe I'm getting visuals from a big dance scene or something...or the bells ringing I have no idea....but it's giving me flashes of some large production....great work..and very entertaining!..cheers planet :)
I dig the crystal clear tone in this number and the suspended quality of it..it's great!...I bet your Mum loved this piece...with these higher frequency numbers they project a very feminine touch..which on this occasion is perfect...excellent work! cheers planet :)
Very vibey...I like the slow addition of sounds at the start...a slow and steady rhythmical modulation right through this pulsing number..it's quite long but it suits the ambience nicely..are those your vox samples in there?....it's almost a meditative number but with an up tempo groove..great work!..cheers planet :)
Hi Planet
Thanks for the review bud.
No they are not my vox samples but I have been experimenting with my voice and mike, Im slowly getting to grips with making loops but I want to make sure they are quality before I start uploading any.

Whoa....wicked!..I can see we're dealing with an altered musical conceptualisation here...lol...I really like the morphology happening all through this piece..there's a real method to the madness and it shows great control...the ending was a bit abrupt but hey..I got my money's worth!...creative...cheers planet :)
I'm diggin' this one..very good!..way catchy, the fretless bass sounds like it went to the Lou Reed school of medication..and came out with honours!..lol..fantastic wit and humour in an allround great track...cheers planet :)
Laid back and cool...I think the drums need some changes as it's holding everything without letting it go..I'm with Randy as well a bit more bass would be nice....but the chilled out vibes are all there..breezy and introspective....nice!..cheers planet :)
I won't go on about Firefighters..they all deserve a medal...period!.........This track is ripping along with some cool half steps thrown in...having read your description this will be even better when you include some Fx sirens..and general background mayhem....it's a great Techno rhythm..I've heard enough of the various electronic genres to get a fair idea of the different sub classes within it,and this baby is slamming along with all hoses blasting!...cheers mate :)
Yeah, they do. And this is my small way of giving back. Sadly, the track kinda took a back seat to other stuff that's been goin on, but I just emailed Young earlier askin him if we could pick things up again.
As for genres, well, on that one I'm beat. I don't think there's anything that this can fall into accurately. It breathes a life of its own. Just like they do. Glad ya dug it. Later on!
