on Help is here, spacestationwagon style by spacestationwagon
Cool!...love that bass line...settles right in on the beat...the trumpet's inclusion into this one just gives it that added flourish.......the guitar sounds excellent right in the pocket, with some juicy licks..this is a great track!..very enjoyable !...cheers Dave :) (very good mix too!)

with blaire's quiet but strong reading of his poem i knew i could put the "stone" back in "stoney" with this one! thanks for the listen. there's a little "devil" sitting on my shoulder right now saying i wonder if Daivd has some spoken word in him, and pick your nose! ;)
cheers, neil

on Intensive charming by SLAPJOHNSON
Talk about a multilayered experience!..Brilliant Steve!..with this track you've bought out your best Bone China and cutlery...What starts out as a gentle march rapidly unfolds into an immersion of musical construction from a master....All your phrases blend and compliment each other so well..this really is a rewarding experience..and not forgetting the inclusion of your namesake instrument..the Vibraslap (sounds like a way kinky sex toy!)...I love this tune...Cheers Dave :)

Hi Dave, well buddy this track is all down to you! You little gift allowed me to get back in the driving seat and start making music again.
Thanks for being a friend and a great human being!

Cheers Slap...

on Same As The Next Guy by dolawhite
I like your attitude it's got a lot of dadaist leanings in it....the low grungy beat works with this apart from the seams...I'd like to see you step out of the rhyme occasionally and just use the words that present themselves to your images..the continual grip of the rhyming cadence while very effective seems to inhibit a more dynamic deliverance and compartmentalises the overall music..far from being a criticism I think you've got a great presence with a snappy attitude..I'd like to see it arced right up....cheers planet

I appreciate the review and your honest feedback. This past year Ive been putting some real effort into trying to make some good stuff so if you have any other tips on how to better myself musically Im all ears. Thanks again.

Ah....I like the out of phase approach happening here it's very effective..for some reason I can hear a vibraphone taking a solo on this piece...I like the equation and the space within the movements of this track....interesting and very fresh..cool!...cheers planet

on Goodbye by BlakeStringer
Hi Blake...this is a cool tune..I think the music though relegated to the background is a perfect vehicle for your voice..I can see your really starting to get the inflections going with theatrical nuances all over the place...this particular style with the vocals front and centre (where they belong in my opinion)really has the potential to go places...some time down the track I'd like to feature you voice with some of my music...cheers planet :)

wow, thank you for that review. I've always had an insecurity about my vocals, so to hear something like that is great

Love to help you out with a track of yours someday. Thank you

on Out of Reach by Acrylic
This is a compelling track....I've discovered that I like Trance, but I'm still not 100% sure on what constitutes Trance from other electronica....so I just listen and see if I like it....this is a very good example of a continuous theme that continually reinvents itself within the turnarounds...great work!...cheers planet :)

on 10X or more by Dvibe
Very spacey vibe you've got going on here.....with an eighties rock stamp of approval on it..good work..Oh while I'm here I noticed on your profile page that some of your stats have been obscured by the add margin..this is caused by not leaving a space between words in the My influences/Fav Artist section...after ever comma use the space bar and it should fix this problem...apparently without the space..it stretches the page...cheers planet :)

on El Nino Latin-Spanish by Randall822
Hey Randy...now I'd love to be able to play this well(In my dreams!)...very reminiscent of Al Dimeola..with that beautiful precise and expressive sound..I like the added electronica as well...what with all the various genre categories here I'd call this Latin Fusion...hehe..great listenable tune that is way enjoyable..cheers planet :)
Randall822
Randall822 replied Unknown
Hi there Planet,

Just happened to be online when your mail came thru.
Glad you liked the 'Latin fusion' tune. ha ha

Yeah, a few other members expressed interest in Latin music, so I decioded to give it a shot with the Nylon guitar loops disk I had, with mixing in a little 'noises'in the rhythm area.

Thanks for the nice comments, I appreciate them.

on Ladies by Tiltedbeats
Hey mate....a serious groove you've got happening here..nice and crisp....with some cool flavours....as stated before I really don't know what to look for in a hop track..so I'm judging this just as I would any other track..on it's merits..and you get a high score!..enough mix and variety to keep a solid interest happening but without sacrificing the continuity of the piece..great work!..cheers planet :)

Like a scene out of a Raphael painting this unfolds in a beautiful and stately procession..it's such a pleasure to hear something like this which relies on musicianship and composition rather than hype and bluster.....required listening for all....I'm amazed at the commitment and can't wait for the finished compilation so I can hear the full measure of your creativity...respect is an understatement.....planet

Lol wow what awesome poetry of a comment! "Like a scene out of a raphael painting"... cheers planet! Scene 4 is ready to be uploaded, but I need to redo the harpsichord for Scene 3. I just need to buy a new midi keyboard and it should be smooth sailing from there.

Btw, when shall we hear a new planet track ;)
