Cool!...love that bass line...settles right in on the beat...the trumpet's inclusion into this one just gives it that added flourish.......the guitar sounds excellent right in the pocket, with some juicy licks..this is a great track!..very enjoyable !...cheers Dave :) (very good mix too!)
Hey Neil..Excellent work..lovely intro..this is soooooo relaxing and smooth..I love it!..great transition into the tension strings.......man this one will sound fantastic over the space wagons sound system....flawless!..cheers Dave :)
with blaire's quiet but strong reading of his poem i knew i could put the "stone" back in "stoney" with this one! thanks for the listen. there's a little "devil" sitting on my shoulder right now saying i wonder if Daivd has some spoken word in him, and pick your nose! ;)
cheers, neil
Talk about a multilayered experience!..Brilliant Steve!..with this track you've bought out your best Bone China and cutlery...What starts out as a gentle march rapidly unfolds into an immersion of musical construction from a master....All your phrases blend and compliment each other so well..this really is a rewarding experience..and not forgetting the inclusion of your namesake instrument..the Vibraslap (sounds like a way kinky sex toy!)...I love this tune...Cheers Dave :)
Hi Dave, well buddy this track is all down to you! You little gift allowed me to get back in the driving seat and start making music again.
Thanks for being a friend and a great human being!
I like your attitude it's got a lot of dadaist leanings in it....the low grungy beat works with this apart from the seams...I'd like to see you step out of the rhyme occasionally and just use the words that present themselves to your images..the continual grip of the rhyming cadence while very effective seems to inhibit a more dynamic deliverance and compartmentalises the overall music..far from being a criticism I think you've got a great presence with a snappy attitude..I'd like to see it arced right up....cheers planet
I had to google a few of those words :)
I appreciate the review and your honest feedback. This past year Ive been putting some real effort into trying to make some good stuff so if you have any other tips on how to better myself musically Im all ears. Thanks again.
Ah....I like the out of phase approach happening here it's very effective..for some reason I can hear a vibraphone taking a solo on this piece...I like the equation and the space within the movements of this track....interesting and very fresh..cool!...cheers planet
Haha..well I must confess this is the first "Crunk" I've ever listened to!.....This is way funky..I really like it..you've mixed up the beat with some great vocal insertions and scratch...the bottom line?....very cool with some sophisticated polish! cheers planet
Now this is a very pleasant package with strings attached...a lovely meandering lullaby with some very poignant moments.. a timeless feel and could be used as the backdrop for any number of scenarios.....super work!...cheers planet
Very nice...there's a mellow glow that comes from acoustic playing which is unique to the instrument..a very pleasant journey that resonates with a country feel..you've captured some of that wholesome down to earth vibe with this piece...great work!..cheers planet
Hi Blake...this is a cool tune..I think the music though relegated to the background is a perfect vehicle for your voice..I can see your really starting to get the inflections going with theatrical nuances all over the place...this particular style with the vocals front and centre (where they belong in my opinion)really has the potential to go places...some time down the track I'd like to feature you voice with some of my music...cheers planet :)
This is a compelling track....I've discovered that I like Trance, but I'm still not 100% sure on what constitutes Trance from other electronica....so I just listen and see if I like it....this is a very good example of a continuous theme that continually reinvents itself within the turnarounds...great work!...cheers planet :)
Hi Bri....great driving rhythm with an interesting hook ...I think as you've stated "still got it"...I'd be tempted to layer this up into a full blown production....nice one!...cheers planet
Very spacey vibe you've got going on here.....with an eighties rock stamp of approval on it..good work..Oh while I'm here I noticed on your profile page that some of your stats have been obscured by the add margin..this is caused by not leaving a space between words in the My influences/Fav Artist section...after ever comma use the space bar and it should fix this problem...apparently without the space..it stretches the page...cheers planet :)
Hey Randy...now I'd love to be able to play this well(In my dreams!)...very reminiscent of Al Dimeola..with that beautiful precise and expressive sound..I like the added electronica as well...what with all the various genre categories here I'd call this Latin Fusion...hehe..great listenable tune that is way enjoyable..cheers planet :)
Just happened to be online when your mail came thru.
Glad you liked the 'Latin fusion' tune. ha ha
Yeah, a few other members expressed interest in Latin music, so I decioded to give it a shot with the Nylon guitar loops disk I had, with mixing in a little 'noises'in the rhythm area.
I have no Idea for the criteria of this competition....but one things for sure this is a great track.....I like the levels especially with the vocals...and with the synth line more predominately placed it works brilliantly...great work!..cheers planet :)
Hey Rei...this is what it's all about!..Free expression session..no preconceived ideas..just your Karma and your guitar..that's the Zen wanderer in you coming out...A very cool riffin' trip, this is way funky too....you truly are a musician for all seasons..I love the transgression into the fade out...masterful with the unmistakeable Rei glow....excellent!..cheers Dave :)
Hey mate....a serious groove you've got happening here..nice and crisp....with some cool flavours....as stated before I really don't know what to look for in a hop track..so I'm judging this just as I would any other track..on it's merits..and you get a high score!..enough mix and variety to keep a solid interest happening but without sacrificing the continuity of the piece..great work!..cheers planet :)
Me I can't dance to save myself....(now that I don't drink..I've got my inhibitions back!)...but this had me grooving and a movin'...Cool!...cheers Dave :)
Ahh man..this is great!...when I hear this sort of groove going down it speaks to me of all the many, many miles that these muso's have put under their belts and boots...You can't learn this stuff you have to live it....You've got that venue "wall" sound ambience..when it's encore time happening...you guys didn't disappoint...cheers Dave :)
Hey Pep....Excellent heavy sound...can't say I feel the need to rush off and arm myself..Bagpipes do that for me!..This is a 'tour de force' literally..very good production..a heavy hitter...cool work..Oh don't shoot me I'm on your side!...cheers planet
The 80's were the beginning of the Dark ages for dudes like me that lived the 70's...but this is great..considering the equipment the sound is still way fresh...nice one!..cheers planet
Haha..this is very good..anybody that can string a verse together in tune is cool in my book!..Traces of John Anderson from 'Yes' but with a more Psychedelic feel...very "Haight Ashbury meets Billy Joel"..sorry for the lame comparison it just jumped into my head..cool work..MrD..cheers planet
Haha...I'm only kidding I wouldn't know Southern rock from a square dance..people get so touchy about which genre's which I just listen to the music..this is a solid moving groove that's for sure not as long as I'd like it to be but the turnaround is great and very enjoyable.....cheers planet
Like a scene out of a Raphael painting this unfolds in a beautiful and stately procession..it's such a pleasure to hear something like this which relies on musicianship and composition rather than hype and bluster.....required listening for all....I'm amazed at the commitment and can't wait for the finished compilation so I can hear the full measure of your creativity...respect is an understatement.....planet
Lol wow what awesome poetry of a comment! "Like a scene out of a raphael painting"... cheers planet! Scene 4 is ready to be uploaded, but I need to redo the harpsichord for Scene 3. I just need to buy a new midi keyboard and it should be smooth sailing from there.
I really wish I knew more about the the dynamics of classical music so I could give this a more in depth review,as it stands it sounds wonderfully open and rich and quite assertive I might add...a small tour de force from our very own Classicist..Bravo..love that new avatar by the way..cheers planet
Man this is mint!..The simple fact is guys my age aren't meant to like this gear...so I figure your either putting subliminal messages within your tracks or the level of expertise involved is huge..I'll go with the later...very professional sound..It grabs you!..cheers planet
